  1. What wheels and tyres should I use for a 1/10 touring to go 100+? It is my understanding that at around 70 the tyres are likely to balloon up too much and tear away from the rims. Foam has been suggested but I don't know enough about them to know what to get. Can anyone please offer some advice from experience? Or any advice at all? Many thanks Tony
  2. Seriously though, it seems the money I'm saving through running electric is being spent on tyre replacements. Can anyone recommend good tyres that can put up with the punishment of brushless power?
  3. What about carbon ceramics? I've found a set for the tc3\4
  4. Cheers mate, it's just that I'm trying to consider every aspect before I start the 100 mph project.
  5. I was wondering whether I would need to change the bearings in my 1/10 touring car for the purpose of achieving very high speeds.
  6. Thanks so much for all your input guys, it's something I'm determined to do whatever happens. If there's any more info or advice on the subject it will gratefully received
  7. The 100 mph is just a project, just want to be able to say in years to come that I achieved it.
  8. I will be using a team associated tc3, and after that whatever is necessary to achieve the target speed. I was toying with the idea of 6s lipo but I'm not sure if that will be too much weight.
  9. Can anyone tell me if a castle mamba max pro esc and 4 pole 7700 motor would be adequate to do the job? Any input would be really appreciated thanks
  10. Have you considered cleaning the whole are completely and using a low-medium tack adhesive aswell as the screws with some loctite. It'll be possible to take everything apart should you need to and help prevent any slipping.
  11. Oops sorry my mistake I thought you were saying something else.
  12. Spot on, my savage xl used to run on hpi 25%, it ran well but used to run a higher temp and spit oil from the exhaust, I changed to byron race gen 2 and everything has improved dramatically.
  13. Alot of what you're experiencing is related to the type of plug you're using and the tune of the engine at the given moment, for example a hpi n5 plug is a cool running plug, it generally gives a cooler running temp but, requires a slightly richer tune and takes a little longer to warm the engine up from cold. Whereas an n3 is a medium/hot plug. So more or less the opposite. Just be sure that you're using the recommended plug for your block, if the engine is running well without running too lean and your temps are high, just drop to a slightly cooler plug.
  14. Very valid points all round, however I maintain that the nitro's generally can take a bit more of a pasting. I think I'd rather replace a fuel tank than a lipo.
