  1. As I've said in my thread.... I'm going to experiment with different ratios ( 18/56 and 19/55...etc...etc.. ) Then when I find what I'll like I'll buy the slipper clutch and modify it to run a metal spur gear.
  2. Silly idea... all that will do is move the weak link to something else... much easier to replace a
  3. Fully aluminium..... clutch carrier..... gear carrier and even the gear box.... hopefully an all alloy drive train will be enough.
  4. I just ordered all my goodies too, hopefully my drive train will be OBR proof now
  5. Baja parts on the way.... including a nice aluminium gear box so hope the OBR won't kill it!

  8. Oh mine screams but that doesn't mean the engines running at it's best.
  9. Looking at some dyno sheets of my engine done by OBR it would seem the rear DOM is a **** poor for RPM's and performance in general. So side pipe should do a good job.
  10. It killed the gears before anything was filmed.
  11. Might try and tune mine slightly to see if I can get the RPM up slightly.... will be interesting to see what difference in RPM between the DOM and side pipe the telemetry shows.
  12. Did you actually notice a difference on the top end when you went with a side pipe?
  13. What tires you have though? I was using road tires on wet grass so was getting wheel spin all through the rev range. That 16,000rpm reading is also from the telemetry system and not sure how accurate it actually is..... it might be accurate to within 100rpm or out by 1000rpm....
  14. It's had around 6-7 tanks so still loosening up. And to be fair with it is running on a DOM clone which I think is starving it of RPM.
  15. I'm hoping to gain some extra RPM from the side pipe over the DOM but not sure how much of am increase to expect? It's nice actually having RPM telemetry that works on 5th scale so I can see what my RPM is doing..... also helped to tune the top end too as the max RPM dropped so I just richened her up back again
  16. I want top end but if it stop my Baja from popping wheelies I'll drop the gearing...... It's awesome having the power to pretty much wheelie on demand ( And when you have grip )
  17. I'm going to run a few gear options then when I've settled on what I like I'll get the slipper clutch for it and mod my gear of choice to fit. It still maxes out at 40mph... it just get's there in the blink of an eye so hoping 18/56 or 19/55 will allow me to hit 50mph which is what my aim is. Got a new clone side pipe too now which should give me more RPM as according to me telemetry it's only hitting 16,000rpm. Should get more when the side pipes on.

  20. This shell took a damn pounding.... it buckled in places but I've also seen videos of genuine 5ive shells buckle when given the same bad landings. The damage to it was minimal to be honest and not many RC's in general would of survived the abuse that it had today.
  21. I've got to spend 200 of my badger to make it be able to handle my OBR so now I'm thinking do I sell the Baja as stock and put the money I was going to spend on upgrades towards an X2.
