  3. well the hobby king wheels fell apart today. the plastic they are made from is very brittle. Any suggestions what to replace them with they need to ne 12mm hex its a little frustrating as the truck is almost sorted
  4. the motor is a cheap 550 size can motor and the end plate is held in with folded tabs. I am worried if I did take it apart it would not be as strong. I had another play with it last night and although on full endpoints it is still faster in reverse (and accelerates faster) it is plenty fast enough going forwards. So I just turn down the end point to get a good reverse speed This is a cheap himoto model for my son. I did not fix the problem but I have found an acceptable work around so I have decided not to mess with it further It is still fast enough forwards that I have now set it in training mode for my son to play with.

not the XL but the small one. A lot of upgrades are included but I have ordered a GPM alloy motor mount. not so much bling on this one as Zombi's build

  6. I got some lipo's in mine today it made a big difference losts more power
  7. the motor has only had about 6 battery packs through it so it new. the other thing I changed was the battery from a 6 cell nimh to a 2s lipo
  8. I have a brushed motor setup and last night swapped the ESC for a traxxas xl-5 and now it runs faster in reverse than forward. there are many threads showing others with the same problem but there are many different answers I have tried swapping the motor wires. reversing the throttle channel. re programming the esc, esc throttle calibration. one;s I have not tried is adjusting the motor timing. reversing the diffs swapping out the motor and or esc or getting a computer transmitter I seem just to be trying random things with no success were do I go from here
  9. a balloon might make me feel better if nothing else. I will also try and keep it high in the model and not sitting in the chassis where water might get caught
  10. http://www.amazon.co.uk/AGM-Output-Switching-Supply-Active/dp/B00KLSVNMA you will need a DC power supply of some description. Not necessarily this one but you will need one

  12. I got some hard case turnigy batteries today http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__38498__Turnigy_5000mAh_2S_7_4V_60C_Hardcase_Pack.html but I am worried the balance lead would be very vulnerable to water is there anything I can do about this?
  13. buy the new DX6 (not the dx6i) or the DX9 if you think you may need the extra channels these are newest spectrum Tx's and are telemetry compatible and have the new voice alerts

I got some stuff this week from them with no extra charges. This was my first purchase from them so I don't know if this is the norm

I have seen a few ex RTR Transmitters from the likes of traxxas and axial being sold used when people have upgraded. Would these be of sufficient quality? (or is the fact they are being replaced a clue to them being not that great)
  19. clear view simulator is a good low cost option to start with (download only). it will work with a usb controller not quite as good as phoenix but costs a lot less http://rcflightsim.com/index.html
