  1. Bought a couple of tracers for me and the lad. Decided to upgrade the diff cups, dog bones, cva’s etc. left the metal diff cups in but was disappointed with the other parts. suspension travel was compromised due to metal dogbones sticking etc. very poor. made it noisy too. Biggest issue looks like the different internal dimension on the rear wheel shafts. The cups aren't machined deep enough. Locks the dogbone at mid travel on the suspension. Waste of money. i wouldn’t bother trying the metal upgrades
  2. Im in a similar position with looking for something. Im torn between an st like the dest210, firestorm, rustler or just going for something like a converted hyper 7 or losi 8ight. But I just cant get my head round the price of the dest210. It looks like its underpriced by about
  3. Funny you should say that. Just been looking at one on ebay.
  4. Appreciate your opinion. Some decent points. Have you owned both the mini t and firestorm? Any other 1/10th that are good quality and reasonable price?
  5. Prob is a good starter model. But I think id prefer something else. Think id get bored of the wheelies etc too.
  6. Not looking at a mini 8. Too small. Could do with looking at a firestorm in the flesh. Things like a composite (plastic) chassis seem to scream cheap built to me.
  7. Cheers for that. Looks good in kit form. Only thing is I think its a bit small for what I want. The mini 8 t is about as small as I want to go. Thats why I also ruled out the mini 8 buggy. Edit. Seems the emb is a bit bigger than the mini 8ight. Ill put it down as a maybe....
  8. Hi all. Im looking to buy an rc again and the choice is mind blowing. I grew up with the usual tamiya stuff, then a few years ago got an xtm nitro stadium truck for a bit of playing around with. Im looking to buy something a bit smaller and want to go back to electric, preferably brushless. Im really drawn to the mini 8ight t. Seems just right in terms of size and performance. Also looked at the merv but just not my thing. Then I looked at some of the 1/10 brushless stuff like the e firestorm flux, but the 2wd and motor position put me off a bit.... Any other suggestions? I know some of you have had experience with these so hopefully you can share an insight. Btw will be used purely for fun. Mix of on and off road. Thanks for any advice.
