  1. Thanks , will have a look at all that . Only had it a couple of days , but already wish it was quicker :-)
  2. Thanks , will check out modelsport , and try some research on the motor pinion options
  3. Santa brought me a tamiya Neo Scorcher but I would like to upgrade some of the plastic bits. I have been advised that a ball race kit , an aluminium prop and cups , and metal diffs from a TT01 e would be a decent start. Is ebay the best place to look for stuff like that , or can anyone recommend somewhere specifically that I could try?(is it worth posting on the wanted section here?) Also , what would be the next step to make it quicker for the least amount of money ? Motor or lipo batteries? I mainly intend to bash this round a bmx track , if that had any bearing Cheers in advance for any help/advice
  4. Not quite got the hang of how to reply on this forum . Thanks for the info, I will see if anyone can help with part nos and links :-)
  5. Excellent, Would you recommend anywhere in particular to get these bits and pieces . And any idea what I should be paying. I aim to get them ordered straight away so I have them when I need them. Thanks for the info - appreciate it !
  6. Thanks for all help and advice. Local bmx track was the venue and throttle was soon at maximum - I am amazed at how quickly he got the hang of it. Seems like quite a sturdy little thing - talking of which my dad bought me a tamiya Neo scorcher so I can get some racing done with the boy. It does not seem nearly as sturdy , with much more plastic - I guess I will soon be replacing parts on this one. On top of this, I got a rush of blood to the head and bought a nitro hyper 7 from ebay - it looks like a different beast altogether :-) I seem to have joined the rc ranks now
  7. For some reason my 'thumbs up ' emoji shows as 4? Marks
  8. Nice one , Will get fuel ordered today. Cheers for all the advice so far ????
  9. So , I have bought a hyper 7 tq2 from ebay. Guy says it is immaculate , having only been run for a maximum of an hour. 1st questions are - what fuel do I order ? And should I do the break in procedure - don't get the impression that the previous owner did this . Any other tips that I should definitely do/not do , bearing in mind that I have zero experience. Excited to be soon joining the nitro ranks ! Should be with me in a few days time :-)
  10. Thanks for all of the info ! I am definitely going to go for a hyper 7 and now it's just a case of finding something at my budget. Daft newbie question - is the tick on the top right a 'like' button ? Do I press it if I liked the answer or comment ?
  11. Is the Ofna hyper 7 and the hobao hyper 7 the same car?
  12. Cheers guys, didn't even realise there was a for sale section. I have now posted in the wanted section for a hyper 7 and have replied to one guy who is selling one aswell :-)

    Hyper 7

Looking for a hyper 7 , totally ready to run . Ideally looking for something I can start no problem and bash it around a bmx track with the least hassle possible.
  14. Hi , I am thinking about buying a used nitro buggy to bash around our local bmx track and was looking to find out if there are any stand out candidates, I am looking for something that will be tough , reliable and will require minimum input from me ( other than driving it). Also handy would be if I was easy to get parts easily in case of breakages . I am also wondering, should I be aiming for 2.4ghz or is 27 hz perfectly fine for what I have in mind .Also , should I be looking for one of the starter box thingies, or is the pull cord fine. The ones which seem to crop up in ebay at my budget (
  15. You were correct about being able to alter the throttle end points via the transmitter. Thanks for the heads up on that !
  16. Job done ! Car now turning in the correct direction and forward and reverse behaving the way they should do. Thanks for your help.
  17. Cheers Noj, Will have a go at all of those steps tmrw night when I am back at the car. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for your input
  18. Cheers guys , for the help so far. The cotroller is a Carson modelsport reflex wheel 2 pro and the the Esc is a tamiya tble 02 s.
  19. It's a brushed motor with only two wires coming from it. I tried reversing the two wires , but this changed the direction of the wheel rotation. ie when I pulled the trigger, the wheels went in reverse and when I pushed the trigger forward the wheels went forward. As it stands just now the wheels go in the correct direction, but reverse has much more power. I am guessing that I just have something the wrong way round , or a switch set wrong ( taking of which - I will try changing the Button on the handset to see if that sorts the left/right issue) I currently have the car at another house- to keep it away from prying eyes, and don't get back to it until Tuesday night. Any ideas on solving the issue of slowing it down ( at least until he gets the hang of it)
  20. Almost done building a tamiya dark impact for my sons Xmas. Have got to the point where I have the chassis built and running but think I must have something the wrong way round. When I pull the trigger on the transmitter, the wheels go forward, but reverse has much more 'oomph' Also I think that left turn and right turn are the wrong way round.( it is the steering wheel style control) What have I done wrong? One other thing is , when I see how fast this thing goes in reverse(hopefully soon to be forwards ), I think that it may be too fast for its intended recipient. Is there an easy way to adjust this to slow it down until he gets the hang of it? Short of putting a less powerful motor in it. Thanks for any help
