  1. So after much deliberation and a collection of sterling advice from all you guys on here (much appreciated, thank you), other forums, general Internet research and from Ian at MMR I've decided on the Zen G320 coupled with a BZM Micro side pipe [emoji4] I was also very close to deciding on either the SCZ Reed or G295 Pro Race but the reliability factor and further tuning potential of the G320 just edged it for me but only by a cats whisker really... I'll update this thread with my thoughts on it after its installed and warmed through though for anyone who's interested.

Thanks again for all your advice and info though guys, it's invaluable! [emoji106] [emoji2]

Just finished breaking the same engine in with a Dom v2 , looking to get a better pipe so let us know how you get on with this combo

  2. I ran the ProMX 30.5cc in my Losi 5ive and it was a brilliant engine, lots of torque, lots of revs, lots of power!  I ran it initially with a DDM Dom pipe but when I put it with the BZM Micro Pipe the party started..  The whole range of power and delivery was epic, it would outrun and perform quite a lot, top end was awesome.

It defo needs the right pipe to go with it though.

so what pipe would you run on a 5b ,G320 pro mx ?,,  currently using a dom V2 but sure theres is better to get more out of the engine

  3. Make sure you have the fuel lines the right way round. It's easy to put them on the wrong way round. The inlet ( has the filter in the tank ) goes to the bottom. Return is the top pipe.

Check the coil gap on the flywheel. Should be a gap about as thick as a business card.

Is the primer bubble filling with fuel? Has your fuel tank breather got blocked?

All of above checks out ok ,, like I said the car ran fine for three tanks , but next time I took it out the problem started , wondered if it could be a coil, issue as the spark is very small
  4. Bit of help, please guys , engine won't start , it a new g320 promx and it won't fire up , done what I think is the basics ie fuel in tank , got fuel,to the carb as I pulled return fuel line off carb and it ****es out , changed spark plug with three new plugs , but not getting a spark , ( not sure how to do that bit ) do I need to hold it against some metal part , ? Just a note that the engine has been running and done three tanks and I've not changed anythink ,, any ideas plz ,

I have got a spark but not a very big spark , thought it would be a better spark with a new plug , also kill switch seams to be ok as far as the LED goes to,kill mode when activated

  5. Hiya,  as some of you may know i've been in the process of rebuilding a baja for quite some time ( http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/200434-mazs-km-baja-002a-build-thread-petrollargescale-beginner-nearly-finished/ )

It's now coming to the point where i'll very soon be starting it up (whether or not it actually fires up is another matter...) and I need some advice on a few issues i've got

the pullstart is slightly slack when first pulled - probably about an inch or two before it starts to pull. Its not a problem is it? can it be adjusted easily or does it not matter - I suppose I could just take the slake out by re-knotting the pullstart handle

Fuel and ratios - i've got Stihl HP ultra (fully synthetic) I use it on my work tools (both stihl and husqvarna) - should be fine in a baja right?

    the ratio is 25:1 yeah?

which from reading is 200ml of oil in 5l of unleaded?

How accurate are the 1ltr mixing bottles?

i've seen this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stroke-Mixing-Bottle-Litre-Petrol/dp/B00N8YLUOU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top or maybe this http://www.amazon.co.uk/2-Stroke-Mixing-Bottle-Strimmer-Chainsaw/dp/B00R00YQ0I/ref=sr_1_4?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1434883289&sr=1-4&keywords=2+stroke+mixing+bottle

either worth getting?Plenty of you tube vids on what your asking , if your like me it's easier to watch a vid than learn from reading a text of messaged , loads of vids about low / high needle settings ,, the OBR run in video is a good starting point , the mixing bottle with green lids is hard to see the oil/ petrol markings , I have the other one and is find ,

Now, what about the engine itself - if it does actually start but goes ballistic and the red button on the engine doesn't kill it, how do I stop it?? block the exhaust like on a nitro?

I have no idea either if the carb is set up or if the throttle linakges are set properly either lol

Is there anything else i need to be aware of when trying to start the baja?

One more thing, any way of telling if the spark plug is duff just by looking at it??

cheers for any advice on this

    :)

  6. Gonna try these settings mark ,, this engine is a pig to start , think it's just me , got these setting off Ian at modeltech ,bearing in mind mine is the pro mx g320 , settings are both about the same when you +\- 1/4 turn , beginning to think I got a issue with kill switch

    Base setting on the Pro-MX 320 & 340.

    Running 25:1 oil ratio (4%)

    L 1 & 1/2

    H 1 & 3/4

They are shipped with the carb adjusted as above.

(The 320/340 evolution - case reed engines also have the same base needle settings (but the carb is metered differently))

She runs lol , much easier when the spark plug cap is on right ,,lol
  7. LS = 1 & 3/8 plus or minus 1/4 turns

    HS = 1 & 7/8 plus or minus 1/4 turns

Found these settings, try them they should be much closer..;)
