  1. Hey peeps. If I have a few D8T Tessman ed rear shock towers made from 5mm aluminium would anyone be interested in buying any? or would anyone be interested in buying my 124mm HPI big bores with gold 84mm 70gf springs approx 1hr use? Daz.
  2. Hey peeps. I've the proline bulldog body with D8T towers on the Truggy flux 112mm front shock 124mm rear. The 124mm were my first mistake in a shock upgrade. Soggy as (kyosho red 95mm springs!!!) on the stock parts and hard as with a D8T rear tower (gold 84mm 70gf) and don't travel properly. Options are another set of 112's for
  3. HPI website says 101770 is a front support for the Trophy series but is black, ally and isn't that cheap. I got a plastic D8T one to try and it's too short to reach the hole on the chassis plate. Am thinking of drilling a new hole but not sure I can be bothered. Other than that ? myself.
  4. Front rear suspension arm holder snapped again want alloy now. Seen a full set of Vorza ones on the bay for less
  5. Hopefully you don't get hammered with import tax! Every time I go above
  6. Strangely enough I actually found that a couple of my diff housings didn't like the hardened gears, they were so tight in there the binding was terrible. Bought some new ones and they went straight in. However if I put the original steel in there I have to put a 6x15x0.2 shim under the larger planetary gear at each end now. Just a thought. Strange but true
  7. Hi there. Depends what surface you run on imo. If you run on grass or other toughish surfaces I would say at least 40c minimum discharge. For car park type bashing on tarmac 30c up. I'm running a hobbywing qickrun 150a with flux Tork on 5s 13t pinion using zippy 5800 30c on grass and it has puffed after 20ish uses set at 3.4v cell cutoff. Gets way hotter than I would like too.
  8. Hey people. Sort of on and off topic. Anyone in the know how with petitions? I just sent an email to HPI and I reckon owners may/may not agree with it. . Email says: Hello there. Is there any chance that the HBS67800 D8T could be put back on sale? Myself and others on forums feel the 113391 - D8T Tessmann Edition is a bit of a rip off price wise for what you get. You would sell a lot more units of the original version because many people would transplant the elecs and engine from their trophy truggy to it because the trophy needs too many upgrades. Consumers would pay

  10. Same here. If you get your diff weights tuned right and don't try and break speed records then ballooning is minimal. I was running 20k CD and bought some proline shockwaves which In did like but ballooned a lot so I took them off and taped them and now they really bite and have too much grip, hate it, and my temps suddenly shot up by quite a lot. I am now going to take the tape off and play with CD weights starting at 50k and see what happens
  11. O.K. So I don't think the 124mm HPI shocks off the D8T tessmann kit are that great either. Using the 83mm 70gf gold springs it is pretty soggy and there is only red harder ones left which are only 75gf so not much difference. My truggy weighs 5,050g with batts. If I take the battery off the shocks seem great so would be great on a nitro at 4,250g. Have now ordered Kyosho blue IF348-1016 springs which are 95mm long and roughly 83gf (from the U.S. again) as I heard the reds fit from the same line but are a little tight I don't want it too hard though. Should've just got vorza towers and modded the body mounts! Anyhow I'm waiting on some D8T towers now (from U.S. again) and changing the whole suspension geometry and hoping that I'll be at a sweet spot with 124mm shock with Kyosho blue rear, 112mm shock with gold 70gf up front. If I don't like that then I'm shelving it til next year!!!! Why can't I get bugger all in the U.K. It's a joke. Mind you if something is
  12. Which driveshafts are the worst for you? I'm looking into alternatives at the mo for the flux.. I reckon center rear hpi 86054 savage 8x142 haven't looked into the rest. Apparently a center brace is a good idea on these to stiffen it up look for Mydoddy69 he has some good info from when he had the flux which are good for the 4.6 too.
  13. What type of terrain do you run on? I can only go 13t - 14t on short grass with a flux Tork on 5s temp at 70c
  14. If it's the screw I'm thinking of I had this happening on the Trophy. I put a longer bolt in and put a locknut on the end and viola.
  15. Good job I didn't order them then The 112's do turn out to be too short even when mounted on the same hole as the body mount on the end of the tower. They are fine until you put a 750g lipo in so would probably be ok on a 4.6 nitro as the weight is about the same as a flux without a battery. When I get the 124's the 112's will probably go up for sale. Might go back to the converted nitro chassis too as I just feel the weight is more even in flight and the center shafts are thicker. Those shafts on the flux are so thin. HPI 86054 savage 8x142 is the way to go on the center rear not looked into the front one yet. Once I've spent the same amount of money as the Truggy actually costs on upgrades this thing will be unbreakable!!!
  16. Call me stupid if you want but I personally think that a TT4.6 conversion jumps more level than an actual flux due to the motor being slightly further back!? Either that or my lipos are proper heavy.
  17. Ah! Didn't think of using longer shafts. Have actually now got the 124mm kit off the d8t tessman coming tomorrow and already have the Gold 85mm springs so I was along the right lines then. If the 124 are alright then I'll use the parts in the links to lengthen the 112's for the front. Saves me buying another 124 set. Thanks for the info.
  18. Hey guys. Just had a thought for the 112mm big bores. Do you reckon putting a longer shock rod end on the bottom might work? I think all you need is 10mm extra length might try one tomorrow. Looking at the Kyosho 95mm springs from HongKong for half our prices but can't decide on Red (5.28lb-in / 937.39 n/m) or Blue (4.62lb-in / 820.22 n/m) Any suggestions are appreciated.
  19. Hey guys. Bought a Truggy roller to customize a while back. Been trying to find a decent shock upgrade but hit a snag. Pulse shocks not available at a decent price so heard someone say about the 112mm Vorza rears. Managed to get 2 virtually new ones cheap to try out but don't bother! You may get them to work with a nitro but they don't like the extra 750grams of a battery. Mounted them on the same bolt hole as the body mounts using a cut down bar with 85mm 75gf springs off a tessman but no!!! Am going to get a 124mm D8 tessman shock kit to try out and just ordered front and rear D8T towers from the US as I have a bulldog body on my EMTA which is going off as a roller soon. So far done 17mm all round for
