  1. So it's all gone quiet in here, did any forum members get one or the other now that they have both been availabe for a few months? I'm certainly considering 1 or the other as my next large scale purchase so be keen to here some up to date opinions on them.
  2. Hey folks, been a while since I posted anything on this forum, got out of the hobby for a while and sold off all my stuff pretty much, anyways got back into it at christmas time with the purchase of an MTXL for myself and a recat rampage for my son, heres a few pics The MTXL and Rampage MT Really enjoying this truck and have been giving it some abuse and so far its just taking it in its stride, only real issue I had was some drive cup grub screws and servo horn screws coming loose on first run but since have been round the truck and redone all metal to metal screws with blue loctite and had no issues since, Upgrades I done right of the bat was got rid of the stock radio and went with a futaba 4pls unit, fitted LOSI alloy shock towers and chassis braces, have also got losi alloy rear hubs and front hub carriers to fit and have some hot racing diff cups, servo saver and middle driveshaft support thingy on route as well as bartalone pipe and outerwears and a few other little bits and bobs, Gonna concentrate on getting the drive train fairly bomb proof then will be looking to get a bigger engine in it possibly OBR or the likes, will update as I get more done to the truck
  3. Open to sensible offers on stuff thats left.
  4. Ramtech Billet A-Arms Front and Rear full set including rear hub carriers, Front Shock Tower and pins, what you see in the picture is what you get, there may be a few small parts missing I'm not sure, these are used and have some scrapes and pitting in them also inside of arms has been painted red
  5. FOR SALE: Futaba 3PK with Spektrum 2.4 Module and SR3000 RX Good condition and working perfect, plastic part of 2.4 Module Antenna was broken and has been glued but doesnt affect it as no damage to actual cable that runs inside, just means it cant be moved.
  6. Selling My DBXL, bought this with a plan on doing a brushless conversion and getting back into largescale RC but its just not my thing anymore, much prefer my flying machines and FPV. Bog Standard machine with very little use, needs RX and TX thats all Looking for
  7. Well after finally finishing the brushless conversion I was doing some testing today and hit a fence, my own stupid fault really, testing in a wet car park so was getting absolutely no grip, was going to fast then it didnt corner quick enough more just went straight on then bang!!! Only obvious damage looks to be the front and rear plates/pin holders that hold arms in place will order up some pro ones and steal the ones of my other ST for now to get going again, had the gopro onboard recording so video to follow soon. Video
  8. All done for now, well still need a new shell but the old battered one it came with will do for now, hopefully out for a bash tomorrow if weather is OK, also treated her to some new boots.
  9. MBX6T side gaurds in the UK, pretty sure I saw that people were ordering them from the states (Amain Hobbies?? could be wrong) anyways I ordered from these guys in the uk and they were delivered in a few days just in case anyone else is doing a brushless conversion and is needing some. https://secure.oxatis.com/mugen-side-guard-set-mbx6t-c2x13863588
  10. too many!!! lol Hyper ST brushless, finishing tonight. Another Hyper ST brushless, not even started yet!! Losi DBXL Brushless conversion, waiting on parts. Baja 5B Brushless conversion, got most parts but not started yet, And a Quaternium Spidex Pro Multirotor needing finished, hopefully tomorrow.
  11. cheers for the heads up, checked out both and both do a conversion kit as you said and look far better quality than the castle one so will be ordering one of these when time comes, anyways back to the DBXL, Not much done today as waiting on parts, removed stock tyres and taped them thats about it really.
  12. give it a run on 4S I think you'll find its plenty fast enough on that set up.
  13. Most of the parts I have for the baja build are upgrade parts albeit upgrade parts from a few years ago but most should still be good to this day and better than standard parts, will start another build thread on the baja once I get round to it, From a quick look through all the parts I accumulated for it the only obvious things missing are shocks and roll cage, I literally have boxes and boxes of standard parts as well from when I was into large scale as had 5 baja's at 1 stage.
  14. Will get there, I'm already toying with a brushless baja as have almost everything I need as before getting out ofthe hobby I was collecting parts for building a road going baja all of these parts I still have although a little dated they are mostly brand new so only require a few parts to do the build one of them being the conversion kit and the deal done for the castle motor combo also includes a 780kv Toro Beast motor, will get the DBXL finished first though.
  15. Thanks again guys really appreciate all the input, giving me lots to think about and buy and make lol, here was me thinking going brushless would be easy!!! hahaha.
  16. Aye not a big deal Noj just thiking about all my current packs that I'd have to change/adapt.
  17. wasnt planning on as the esc has a bec so just power everything from that, why?
  18. youtube is your friend, lots of nitro engine tuning video's.
  19. Also it could be that when at idle settings on your transmitter the actual carb is not at idle i.e your not touching the throtlle but carb is still sitting half open, so you may need to adjust your servo/throttle linkage, if its just needing a small adjustment you can use the trims on your transmitter to do this (2 small switches that will move the servo by small amounts) if its needing a lot of adjustment then you may need to remove and re-centre the servo horn (plastic arm on servo that connects to carb via throttle linkage).
  20. take off the air filter and look down inside the carb, when opening and closing throttle you will see the slider moving, when at idle throttle there should only be around 1mm gap showing, if more than this then there is a small screw that needs adjusting to allow the slider to close more.
  21. aye but there version or at least the one in the tutorial requires fitting a small wire and bullet to your packs also, this method above negates the need for the extra wire and bullet on the pack
