  5. fed up with nitro and have been having a lot more fun with electric and was about to sell the savage. Instead i thought i may aswell change this to electric too. didnt fancy just buying a conversion kit and thought it would be more enjoyable to make something myself. spent a couple of day making some brackets to mount everything and come up with this so far but may change some of it. didnt fancy the batteries being on the outside of the chassis and was trying to hide it in the chassis. mocked up with an old motor and esc that is trashed and hopefully to be replaced with a castle 2200 and esc unless there are any other options? (update) the gearbox has also been converted to single speed, i am well aware that as this gearbox is locked i could destroy the diffs on heavy landings, without going to all the effort just yet of installing a centre diff (i did think of doing this to start with as i have a few spare centre diffs laying about) i believe i have found another way to prevent damage to the diffs. ill explain/show more on them when the bits arrive. few pics of what i have so far...
  6. i was going to sell all this in the savage but have now decided to convert the savage to brushless but now selling nitro parts to fund the conversion. just noticed the pictures are awful. i will try get some better ones when i can Savage xl 5.9 engine with pull start. engine was broken in to the book then developed a leak on the carb. hpi checked engine/carb and replaced the carb. carb was sealed as you can see and set back up on my savage xl and ran a few times. it has then sat unused for the last year and i have not started it up since then so i cannot say if it is running today but if needed could possbily try to start it and video it as proof. £75 posted UPDATE: I have just had this set up on the bench and can now confirm that it does start and run with video to prove. jp-2 pipe, used. £20 posted cen gst pipe used. £20 posted Savox sc-1258tg used but not much. £35 posted welcome to collect from epping or north greenwich area

  9. all arrived in the post today apart from some wiring and connectors, built it up and temp connected to battery just to make sure it all worked and it does. so nearly done may get a chance to use it this weekend. pics are in my album http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/album/3950-hyper-8-brushless/

  11. Cheers. Just bought them from the main site with 40c batteries.
  12. So i could in theory parrellel the 2x 4s 5000 30c and get 300a discharge.
  13. what does the c rating relate to and what is the difference between 30 and 40. Im led to believe c is the discharge rate per hour. So if i have a 5000 mah battery at constant 30c that is 150a, if my motors max current is 150a with the battery mentioned it will take 1 hour to discharge if the motor is at its max 150a? Prob completly wrong though Once its all done i shall post a vid up. Its going in a hyper to start with. May even try it in my savage xl. We shall see.
  14. Thanks for the reply. Ive been looking around but i seem to have settled for that set up above. Being knew to electric rc took a bit of time trying to work out whats compatable with what so wanted to double check that what ive picked will do. Apart from the wires. Is there any other differences from running 2x4s over 1x4s

  16. After the engine is warmed up and has done a few laps if i stop the truck and let it idle it will stall. Once stalled it is a pain to start. If u prime the fuel line when fuel reaches the carb via the hsn. As soon aa it gets to the hsn it evapourates and pushes the remaining fuel in line back into the tank
  17. when idleing this is boiliing the fuel off at the carb, cut out and is hard to start (have to wait for it to cool) max running temps of the engine are 230 degrees F. is there any way to stop this happening?
  18. im putting and lrp 32 in my savage xl and am wonderiing what pipe to use. i currently have the pipe that came with the xl and a cen pipe. out of the 2 what one wiill be best.
