  1. Cheers. It's the ball that goes into the servo horn. I'm just getting back into rc after a big number of years but I'm finding all the local shops have gone.
  2. I may have a go with taking the back plate off. It seems to get oily quickly after I've put it back together
  3. Aw great!i thought it may be substituted for something else. My savage has a roto on and I've started that today with a drill as the units supplied by the seller appears to have duff batteries.
  4. Is there any owners in the north east? I'm interested in bringing my new (used) xl to a bash to get a few pointers. First mess about with it today and so far I've found that the previous owner has joined a snapped rx ariel by twisting it together. The servos are twitching a bit, and im putting it down to the rx ariel. I then discover the steering links dropped out of the servo! Gone forever, so I need a new ball. So that's why I think it would be worth speaking to another owner to get a bit if a lowdown on these beasts.
  5. How easy is it to get the necessary parts to convert my force 25 to roto start? I'm sick of the stupid thing slipping even after the new bearing is fitted. If I strip it down it works gone for a few pulls then slips again.
  6. Could do with a new set of body mounts as well, they're a bit worn down from sliding along the wrong way up!
  7. Well to add to my recent purchase of the hunter2, I've now picked up a savage xl. What a beast lol It could do with a couple of upgrades so can you advise what's the best site for hpi savage xl parts please. It's been advertised on eBay and it's an unmolested one so I hope I have picked up a cracker.
  8. Just got to get my pull start sorted and I'll be back to Herrington. Might see you there sometime Carl.
  9. That's worth knowing thanks. We usually take the dog as he loves chasing the buggies and go down to the field near the pond. There was another guy who saw us at the weekend got his EB4 out of the car but technical probs stopped him from joining us. If it's a public place and we're not causing a nuisance an they move us? I'm a 44 yr old bloke!!
  10. Went up to the country park tonight at Penshaw, but my pull start was acting up so was a bit of a waste of time. Once its running ok Ill try and pop along to a bash, running round in flat circles gets a bit boring lol
  11. I will strip the motor out and have a look at what's involved in changing the shaft.
  12. I changed my one way bearing on the Hunter when I bought it last week as it was slipping. I've ran it three times and it's started slipping again even worse. Now is it just bad luck that I've picked up a dodgy one or could there be excessive wear on the shaft? When I stripped it down it appeared to bite every time so then I thought it may need a new pull start. Any pointers will be great.
  13. Cheers, that's the list that I got, there's a definite gap in the market in my area as all of those are a bit of a travel, looks like on line is the way forward. So my rc car history (bear in mind it was a long time ago) was Tamiya Hornet Koyosho Samurai Tamiya Celica GT4 Rally Used to race at Oxclose Comprehensive in Washington, it appears that the clubs long gone, although it started getting a bit expensive trying to keep up with the Team Associated RC10 boys. As I said earlier, I then moved onto planes, Piper Cub being my starter and probably my favourite model. Gave it all up for motorbikes (notice how the toys keep getting bigger) Hopefully someone local will chip in and give me a steer as to where we can have a bash about. I'm currently running up at Herrington Country Park although it's flat so I may need to take a jump just to add a bit of interest in. I'm already considering upgrading my radio gear, and possibly buying a second nitro of some kind. The faster you go the faster you want to go lol..........
  14. Hi! Just signed up to the forum, I've bought a used GV Hunter2 recently and having a blast with it. Based in the north east and interested in clubs/meets to have a bit race with. Used to race 1/10 electric about 20 year ago! Moved on to aero for a few years and then nothing so I'm finding a lot has changed since then. My lads just bought an EB 4 as well so he may sign up here too. Discovered that all the old model shops have long since gone so any local lads can point me in the right direction apart from North Shields which I know of. Cheers Andy
