  1. yep mac .28 in it but seems to be starting and running well now I know the correct way to start it [emoji1]
  2. Thanks everyone, gone for the 25% byrons so all sorted. had another go at starting it tonight tried removing the silicone pipe from the exhaust and blowing though that (this time could just see the fuel through the green pipe) and it started straight away! still going to fit the clear pipe though so I can see the fuel better. Also used shorter faster motions on the pull start which helped! Very happy![emoji1]
  3. Hi there, Just got my first nitro buggy hyper7 .28 and just wondered what fuel is best out of byron race gen 2 20% or 25%? I got the remainder of 20% vp fuel from the last owner. having trouble starting at moment though as I can't really see the fuel through the green pipes that have been put on it, therefore flooding it. so ive ordered some clear pipes and trying to be patient! [emoji3] Also some of them refer to rtr but surely they all are? Thanks in advance
  4. thanks think I am swaying towards the hyper7, which model is better the .21 or .28. Also is it worth buying second hand to save a bit of cash for upgrading later? just a bit concerned if they haven't run it in correctly after reading the routine.
  5. Hi there, what in your opinion is the best nitro for around
  6. Hi there, Recently got myself a used sand viper put a Hobbywing 1060 esc in it wtih a firebolt 15T motor and really happy with it however I keep finding myself looking at the Hyper 7, reason being they look are slightly bigger, noisier and look stronger than my Tamiya for general bashing. Can I get your opinion on firstly if the Hyper 7 are a decent buggy and would it be a wise move to buy one, how quick would it be compared to a brushless electric car say a Firestorm 10T Flux? Are nitros too much hassle and would I be moving in the right direction? Thanks for any advice
  7. ok thanks for your advice, think I'll skip discharging the batteries then, hopefully it's not over discharged it then.
  8. Hi there, Sorry for another charging question, I've got a plazma 3300mah nimh that has now been used a few times from new but had a couple of issues. I discharge the battery after each use on my ansmann acs47 before charging and normally it discharges for a few mins then automatically starts charging, however without realising it was discharging for a couple of hours and in the end I had to stop it and put it on charge. The car had slowed so should not have needed that long, then once it was charging it seemed to think it was finished half way through its normal charge time. So I started the charge again and it carried on charging. Sorry for the long story but being newbie not had this before, any ideas? Also do I really need to discharge it after every use or can I just put it on charge? Thanks in advance[emoji3]
  9. Has anyone used the etronix probe plus in a sand viper with a 15t firebolt? would that be a good setup? would I need to upgrade any other bits from standard? steel pinion for example or would the standard one be ok, if so what size do I need and where can I get one? thanks
  10. Big Gaz - It's still standard so teu101bk, what esc are you running with the 19t? Noj - Not considered brushless yet as I've just got new nimh batteries and was trying to upgrade to a better brushed motor and then later upgrade again so its more gradual. maybe I should have read up on brushless before buying them.
  11. Hi there, Firstly I'm a newbie and finally got a Tamiya RC after wanting a Mad Cap when I was a youngster, I've gone for a used Sand Viper to start me off which is in very good condition and came with a fast charger/discharger and 3000mah battery but i've just bought another HPI Plazma 3300mah so i've got that side of things covered for now. What I want to know is the best upgrades to start with as a newbie? I have wondered about the motor as It came with a standard silver can and a ansmann clash 2.0 28t motor that was fitted, it feels ok but ideally want to put in something faster but to start off don't really want to change the standard esc, is the sport tuned motor my best option and will it be a big difference or is there something better out there? Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi all, First post and Newbie question regarding charging a new battery, I've just got myself a HPI Plazma 3300mah 7.2v Nimh for my newly acquired used Sand Viper and have read the electric guide on discharging the battery after use and then charging each time which is fine and will do, however it then advises that i cycle the new battery 3 times before first use. What I want to know is do I start the process by discharging it straight away then charging or charge it fully when it arrives then discharge ? Thanks in advance for your help
