Cheers for the replys guys. Is there a way i can test the engine for compression with the electric start fitted? Im not sure if the battery unit comes with it to start it? As nice as the electric start would be. The electric start set up could cause internal damaged to the engine couldnt it if the engine locked up due to been floooded couldnt it? I think i will be swaping to a pull start i think.

Cheers burridge. i thought those starter wands had some kind of hex rod in them to crank the engine over?

Hey guys. Ok so im going to view a traxxas t maxx tomorrow with electric start but i have never had a nitro car with this before. Does this mean the car has a onboard motor connected to the starter shaft on the motor or will it have one of those starter wand things? Sorry guys if this is a daft question. I just dont want to get ripped off with it if the engine is stuffed. Is there a way i can test the engines compression if i cant start it due to not having the wand/batterys to get it running? Ive just got one of these and mine did this and it was the front drive shaft popped out of the hub cup.

Cheers ian. After trying to start it again with the last bit of fuel i had i found out that that glow plug is blowing bubbles through the little pip so im guessing the plug is leaking so that wont do it any good. whats the best plug to get heat wise? Im still learning nitro. Cheers guys

Not sure about the engine size. It says corsa on the block and has the number 17 stamped on the carb so im guessing its a 17 engine? To be honest i dont think it is the right engine for the car. As for compression it feels like it hasnt even been broken in as ive broken a brand new pull start and snapped the cord loads of times. Is the high speed needle the one where the fuel pipe goes to the carb? Ive stripped the engine down today and used some sealant on the exhaust manifold and the pull start backing plate and it starts easier now but as soon as the glow start comes off it borks out. I,ll try tuning it again when i buy some more fuel.i was using 20% in it. Would 16% be better? Cheers for the replys.

Cheers for the quick reply. I didnt think of it at the time but the glowplug hasnt got a copper washer just a normal one. Would this cause a air leak? Also what percentage fuel would this run on? I have a little 20% left so have been using this. Cheers

Hey guys. Anybody have a cen mg10? Im having trouble getting it to run as its spewing fuel out the exhaust and when the glow starter is removed it cuts out. Any ideas guys? Also im having trouble finding the factory settings for the engine. It has corsa stamped on the block and says 17 on the carb.any ideas? Cheers guys

Hey guys. Ok so my cen mg10 car turned up today but when i tryed to start it i ended up knacking the pullstart. Any tips to get the coil spring back in as its not the same as the others ive managed to sort. Where will i find a factory settings guide for the engine as its a sod to start. Cheers guys.

Hey guys. Ok so ive just bought a cen mg10 truck to replace my ssk v2 which i cant wait to arrive in the post.are they fast and are parts easy to source like engines and stuff? Anybody got this model? Im just looking for feedback good or bad. Metal spur gears are available for them so happy days cheers guys

i guess im keeping my eyes peeled for a spares or repair savage then lol. mines always caked with oil/grass ect near the engine mount so maybe its time for a clean lol. I wonder if roughing up the chassis / engine mount with sandpaper will make it slip less? just a idea

When ive fitted the new spur gear it has meshed up fine it just seams no matter now tight i nip the engine mount bolts it slips causing the gear to strip. I did go to a machining shop and they said they could copy my spur gear in steel. For a steap price of course lol.i never thought of the chassis flexing although it does have a chassis brace..... if that makes a difference?

Fixed two up so far and love it lol.i was considering moding my ssk v2 some how so it wouldnt kill the spur gear as quick but couldnt see a way of doing it.

Hey guys. Ok so im looking at getting another nitro truck and was wondering if getting one with a steel spur gear is better as mine seams to mince the plasic ones up. Do all nitro cars kill the spur gears that are made of plastic? Any ideas guys? Cheers

I had a few tuning issues with my thunder tiger ts4n i used to own. I know its a different car but still nitro so tuning the engine still applys.if the engine is drawing air anywhere it will run like c@$p. Ive had a leaking glow plug where it was blowing nitro fuel bubbles from the pip on the glow plug.air leak from the tick over screw.exhaust gasket leak. glow plug threads if its not tight enough/ has a damaged/missing washer.mine also had a habit of running fine till i braked then it borked out due to the throttle stop not been set right. All things worth checking. Im new to the nitro world but this is all stuff ive learnt as ive gone along. Good luck with sorting it

That looks ace. :)Didnt even know hpi did electric. Guess ive got loads to learn lol. Thats a little more than i wanted to pay but might get one at a later date.

Ive had a ts4n and a ssk v2 both didnt run that needed bits and bobs so i dont mind buying a spares or repair and doing it up as im learning about them as i go just dont want to buy something thats impossible to get parts for. I found a luchbox on ebay that i was looking at till i seen it didnt have a transmitter or speed controler. I was hoping to use my radio gear from my ssk v2 to get my electric one rolling till i got round to buying a new one.if i do go for the lunchbox i like the idea of building it up from scratch
