  1. Thanks guys. Higher ampage means quicker charge but is the slower charge best for when I am not rush for the battery or wont it extend the number of charge cycles it can take?
  2. I have an RC6-VSP Overlander charger and I am baffled by the do's, dont's and the can do's but not all the times type of advise and instruction. I have a pair of overlander Lipos 5000mAh, 7.4V 2S. How am I best to charge these and what are all the settings? The more I read the more confused I get. Currently i am trying to charge at 1.8A in balanced mode and 7.4V (2S). Is this correct and am I best using this charge method all the time? And can I up the 1.8A to higher to speed up a charge at any time? Sorry if this is a lame question and I am sure it is addressed somewhere in this forum but the more info that is out there the more confused I get. Thanks
  3. Well, good news and bad news. 1) The receiver wasn't binding so they sent me a new one 2) Had no deans connector and now sent 3) Sent me a new ESC with the deans connector adaptors and low voltage alarm built in. On the down side, worked well with the nimh batter but once connected with the lipo, forward became reverse and reverse became forward, my son sent the buggy of 180 degrees in the opposite direction and it grounded but he held the throttle on and not I can steer but have no drive power. Think he burnt the motor out!! But how the gears became reversed I have no idea. Edit....flipping the throttle reverse switch on the handset just kept the wheels permanently powered up.
  4. Haha, I am just a frustrated dad but my son is the one gutted. It will all get straightened out I'm sure.
  5. Thanks. Will be contacting the retailer tomorrow as now the nimh stock battery is charged, the thing wont even bind. Wholly disappointing.
  6. The shop sold me the lot and it was an internet order. I initially sent a link over saying I am looking to purchase the vantage as in my link and also sen links to a lipo charger and lipo battery asking if all was comparable to run. Yes they said but would advise putting a deans connector on the lipos. Order arrive today. I have two lipo batteries, lipo charger, stock battery and charger and what appears to be as no way I connecting the lipos up to the car.
  7. Hi guys, Just taken receipt of a new brushed ftx vantage and I got extra lipo batteries. The shop put a deans connector on for me as they said it helps with the high amp charge but how do I connect the darn thing to the car? All I can see is the clip connector that's for the stock nimh battery. And to make matters worse the literature says not lipo suitable. Have I been mis sold?
  8. Purchase made...thank you.
  9. Thanks for the reply. As for the battery option, you really got onto something I thought about after posting. So as for batteries. the 1800mAh, how much or how little run time could we get and the same goes for the 3300mAh Also as this is about fun for me at the same time and my son cutting his teeth, I dont want him to be flat and disheartened after a battery running for 3 mins before running out so could I reasonably expect a longer run time from a 2 wheel drive model?
  10. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=379131 Hi Guys and gals, Is the above any good? Looking for one for me to play around with while my son grows up learning on it. He is 8. Wanted to stick with battery and go 4WD and ideally was looking sub
