  1. 24th August. I am away for 2 weeks holiday the following week end so either 24th August or after I return.
  2. Do you by chance have a meet on bank holiday Sunday?
  3. Do you have many 1/8th electrics racing or is it mainly nitro?
  4. Many thanks to you both for your help.
  5. I got a set of previously unused shocks from a friend. The rear ones have black bushes in the mounting hole but the front ones do not. It has been suggested to me that a piece of fuel line would make a suitable bush or does anyone know where I can obtain the correct bush for these. Many thanks
  6. I've only been into RC car racing for 2 or 3 months but would say, judging from what I see at my clubs track, brushless electric 1/8th buggies and truggies are every bit as competative as their nitro counterparts. Nothing toy like about these cars at all. I,ve watched a few head to head clashes and in expert hands I would say either could defeat the other. The great advantage of electric is that it is quiet and usable in a greater variety of locations. I can see the attraction of nitros, their sound makes them exciting for spectators because real racing sound similar. The smell of the exhaust, the roar of the engine all add to the adrenalin rush. Oddly, when I am racing my HPI Trophy Flux Buggy I can distinguish the car noise from the others on the track. Personally I love the cleanliness and quiet of the electric and no race meeting has passed when I have not been totally exhilarated racing her.
  7. And that was straightened out in another 5 minutes by yet another pair of helpful hands . The shell mounting holes were also ripped apart but have repaired those by sticking shaped offcuts under the hole area with Shoe Goo. All I'm waiting on are 2 chassis anti bending rods to replace the broken rear one and good front one from the flexible type to the rigid ones. Hopefully be racing again on Sunday
  8. Here's a pic of the straightened chassis. I will be replacing the chassis anti bending rod with rigid ones as opposed to the flexible one which got torn out of the ball socket. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/29503-/
  9. Hello all. I'm new to RC car racing and totally hooked. I got into the sport quite by chance. My dog won't chase a ball losing interest when it stops so I bought a Helion Dominus 10TR Truggy for her to chase. Unfortunatly this proved dangerous to her so I went back to the shop and bought her an 18th scale Animus. The shopkeeper invited me to the local off road track run by the local rc racing club, to race my car. The following Sunday I went along very apprehensive but all the members were so friendly and helpful. The day passed quickly and though I was only doing half the laps of the experienced drivers in a 6 minute race I was totally hooked. Over 6 weeks my truggy took a real pounding. Kept losong dog bones so I replaced them with universal drive shafts. Marshalling between races I started to envy the much faster and exciting 1/8th scale buggys and an inner craving began. I went to the model shop and saw a HPI Trophy Flux Buggy calling to me through the window.so I rescued it and wow what a difference. I have had rc aircraft for many years but have to say that rc car racing is one of the most addictive and enjoyable sports I have ever got involved in. I'm really getting into the mechanical side of things and am amazed at the engineering involved.
