  1. Get a little cheap hubsan X4 first, if you can fly that and use it as a 'trainner' then move onto something better like a second hand DJI FC40 Phantom for that price
  2. Hi , are folk still going here ?
  3. Cheers cowboy. Anyone use or heard of these, they seem too cheap... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HobbyFans-4-Poles-9T-4370KV-Brushless-Motor-For-1-10-On-road-Drift-Racing-RC-Car-/301622291211?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item463a16eb0b
  4. hi folks, ok so been out with silvia today for the first time, son loved it, cracking car but already thinking upgrades, first up the battery - thinking a lipo but which one, next we want to raise the ride height - shocks maybe, if so which ones. possibly the servo and as new to drifting I've heard of this camber set thingy, what does it do and is it needed. cheers.
  5. Just bought my son this Silvia from wireless for a tonne...dirt cheap, can't wait to get it out this weekend on his birthday, this is the first electric got two nitro's, getting it upgraded to decent spec looks a tad expensive , thanks to everyone for the info, was struggling till I read this
  6. thought I'd mention while this is Wigan based, a facebook page I spotted ....Wigan RC Nitro, only about 20 members at the minute, but could be a decent way to get more from around the area in contact for meet-ups etc.
  7. exactly as nitroholic says..... plus try a new plug too as you won't know when it was last changed. my lad has a firestorm new from modelsport, needles are 100% flush, after break-in we set idle once warm, didn't mess Lsn, Hsn only leaned out abit, I got it to what I thought was its peak then set it back a touch rich for a healthier engine, runs like a dream. Only other known niggle with these is the clutch wrap-a-round spring is crap, read lots of peeps fit in a savage 3 shoe clutch instead of the standard 2.
  8. stoka where abouts do people meet up in wigan man
  9. Cheers man, think I'll try one
  10. Hi, got a firestorm with the G3 engine, wondering if there are any better plugs than the standard, been reading everywhere the OS 8 is great but I think the recommended plugs are 3,4, & 5 , so thinking an 8 too hot maybe for this engine ? Any advice will help, clueless on plugs Cheers
  11. Anyone know where I can buy one of these, nitro version.
  12. thanks for the advice chaps, plenty food for thought
  13. looking at the losi 2,0 8T , found only two shops that sell it, wondering are parts still around for it
  14. thanks chaps, liking the idea of RTR strip down and upgrade cheers.
