  1. The joys of nitro.............................I luv it..................
  2. I had that same problem today.............couldn't get it tuned properly & everytime I applied the brake (car was on a stand) it stalled.............stripped the clutch down & found 2 broken springs.............replaced them & now it's all sorted...........running like a dream.............
  3. I have a Force .21 & a Force .25 & I think they're great little engines..........Never had any bother with them.
  4. I can only quote what I've read & adhered to....................a "slight" movement of the clutch bell back & forwards was actually recommended for my car (2 speed) & that's how I've run it for 18 years without any problems....................but I am always open to correction.
  5. The play in the bell is normal too.........................best thing you can do is take it apart.
  6. A small gap is normal, as long as it's not too big.
  7. Sounds like the clutch shoes or springs...........but you'll have to take it apart to find out................
  8. Ah right...................Sorry, I didn't realise that. I wondered why no-one had suggested it.................lol
  9. If the diameter of the shaft is the same, could you not just get a 10mm hex one way bearing?
  10. This might help you...................... http://www.dynamiterc.com/ProdInfo/Files/DYNP5221-Manual.pdf
  11. In my opinion, that's running too rich, given the temp..............I would suggest leaning it out & get it up around 180 degrees then see how it is......I could be wrong, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. *Edit : I've just realised you've quoted centigrade, which makes it around 230 fahrenheit, which shouldn't be too far out......I'd still lean it out a bit, as googling temps for that engine (.21), most are saying around 250-270
  12. How hot is it getting?.................Test the engine temperature............If you haven't got a temp gun, spit on the heatsink while it's hot & see if it evaporates quickly or slowly.
  13. I'd say that's running way too rich........................
  14. Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but currently out of stock.....Try googling "replacement Ts4n 2 speed gears" http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php/spares/tt-pd0897-thunder-tiger-ts4n-replacement-2-speed-transmission-gears.html or here...................... http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/187479/
  15. Mine seems to run best between 160 - 180 degrees.
  16. The end with the silver ring on the bearing goes on first.
  17. Best thing to do is measure them (centre of T-section to T-section & diameter of ball) & hunt around on e-bay etc..........Once you have the sizes, it'll make them easier to source.

is that how it looks now?...................If so, it's in great condition.
  19. If there is a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust & it bogs down, it's running too rich. I use Byrons 20%.
  20. I point mine at the top of the heatsink, but not 100% sure this is correct.
  21. I heat it up just before I leave home & cover the engine with an old sock........It shouldn't really be necessary to heat it up during the summer, but I do it for ease of use. You say it's running lean.....you could try adjusting the HSN to make it a bit richer......screw in to closed, counting the amount of full turns you make. It should be at least 3 - 3 1/2 turns ....Then screw it back out again.
  22. Got to agree with the above posts..........I only have nitro & love fiddling about, stripping it, re-building it & tuning it. I love the noise, the speed, the getting dirty..........& most of all, the sheer satisfaction of seeing it performing after doing all that. The down side, for me, is that mine is an 1/8th scale, on road, so I have nowhere to race or compete with it here in the UK & am relegated to car parks. I've toyed with the idea of electric, basically because there are so many more places to run/race them, but it doesn't have the challenge of nitro for me.
  23. Keep an eye on the spur gear/gears though, to see if there is any wear.
  24. The plug number should be printed on the side of the plug. The higher the number, the colder the plug. I use OS 5's in my Force engines, with Byrons 20%, which I find just right. Fires up first time after a short burst with the hairdryer. Try opening the carb a bit more, but be careful not to flood it.
