  3. Ive got a 2013 one, ... it broke one in the first 10minutes of use, HPI repaired under warranty (in store). On the 4th or 5th tank it broke another they did warranty (had to send back to hpi they had it nearly 2 months). it then broke another shortly after that. HPI replaced ALL the diffs and told me its now not covered by warranty so Im on my own. Since then no issues I believe the issue is if you don't notice and keep driving it weakens all the others so have to replace all of them at same time.
  4. Well I hit a raised lump of slab in the field with the maverick blackout XB, it just caught the very front corner of the chassis and it must have summersaulted 15times at about 5ft in the air, it landed on its wheels and looked like I styled it out Seemed to drive back to me ok till I saw: The chassis twisted and bent 2" out of straight from the front to the rear The brake cam mechanism gone At least 6 bolts sheared of from the gearbox mechanism and engine The crankcase still attached to the chassis via the 2 bolts but those 2 bolts lugs sheared off the flywheel/fan lost a fin the pull start lost a bolt hole/corner the fan/flywheel cover lost a bolt hole/corner Anyone got any of them parts lying around and wants a few quid let me know
  5. Thanks Nitroholic, I don't know how to find out the pitch etc, you are right
  6. Hello I lost one of the wheel nuts for my maverick blackout.... I didn't realize they were so expensive
  7. Im a field engineer living in the backside of kent and spend half my live in the car traveling and working across the country at ungodly hours making it hard work to have a socially acceptable time to arrange such thing. That on top of being an introvert and having had problems with pick ups before I prefer to not have the agro - the last thing I sold on ebay the person was more interested in looking around my house that the item he bought and I got robbed the next evening. Call me paranoid but Im ok with that
  8. any reasonable offers before I put it on ebay? many thanks
  9. I should add Im not looking to swap for anything, payment is via paypal and this includes post no pickups Im afraid. many thanks
  10. Hello, I bought my blackout in December 2013. Its had approx 6 full tanks of use petrol from purchase (6hours?). Less than a tank ago HPI replaced the entire engine/carb/exhaust, front and rear diff cups. The pull start failed on the new engine first use (by the store!) they didn't have any maverick ones so they replaced it with one with a fuelie 23cc - the engine is the standard 30.5 one still. When I picked the model up from the store the throttle servo smoked itself and took my spectrum ar400 rx out with it I figured this is finally it im clearly not cut out for 1/5 scale time to go back to planes and helis. Ive put the original maverick RX and TX in with it. Hpi did offer to replace the servo however research shows most people junk their ones and fit descent ones - so please note requires a throttle servo. The body shells are well known for being brittle so the shell with this is one is in a state (exhaust coupler came off and melted back part and since then its rattled to cause cracks everywhere - I have fibreglassed it in places) it still clips on barring the one corner the shell has separated. Also included will be some venom 2 stroke oil 300ml left in bottle spare NGK plug plug tool spare shock sock spare pull start handle fuel line filter spare throttle servo horn metal gears to upgrade the plastic ones which I heard melt. Im looking for
  11. I'm looking for used or cheap Maverick Blackout parts: Shell Upgraded carb upgraded air filter upgraded pipe anything else that improves the models robustness also. Please PM me thanks mark
  12. On my Maverick XB I used my heli/plane tx on an ar400 rx and adjusted the throttle servo endpoints and mine still failed.... I was interested in what was wrong with my servo and seeing as it was replaced under warranty stripped the failed servo down. Once I got it stripped down to the can soldered to the PCB I could feel the output shaft was solid as in it wouldn't move. I envisaged the stator and commutator being burnt out and melted/welded to each other... A lot of playing with it and I felt the output shaft start to rotate back and forth freely - so I removed the can expecting to see a burnt mess at the electrical end. The windings on the output end (opposite end to stator/commutator) had become loose and moved over the plastic washer to get jammed in the bush at the other end. The rest of the servo was was ok. Conclusion: Windings not correctly wound.
