  1. Hi all--any suggestions as to buying brushless motor/lipo and charger for around £100 mark. I'm reasonably happy with performance as is but would like a little more oomph.Anderson 500 brushless looks good for £40. on ebay.Any advantage to be had from fitting brushless but retaining Nimh? Cheers. PS I run on bumpy soft(ish) ground or grass. No car park stuff.
  2. Thanks all--blue it is.It'll match the bike.
  3. Hi all.Any tips on best threadlock to use on Anderson M5? Nearly used ABRO red till I noticed it requires heat to undo. Blue OK??
  4. Hi all, Relative newbie here.Just resurrected my M5 (and forum password)! after 4 years in cupboard. After an hour's fun I noticed the 13T pinion had shed four teeth so fitted a replacement and also new one way bearing as I originally thought that was the problem. Now pinion is not meshing with main gear (teeth OK--checked by trying new plastic main gear). Any suggestions gratefully received. UPDATE: Just realised I asked this question five years ago and got answer.Sorry--senior moment!
  5. Like to see a pic of the finished result--may have a go myself. Hope you don't mind being the guinea pig!
  6. Have a look at the way they do it on speedway bikes http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHAIN-ADJUSTERS-NOS-Speedway-Vintage-Mini-Bike-/120789776120
  7. Ah--so that's what they're for! Thanks NH
  8. Chain seems a bit slack when freewheeling--it's brushing the suspension arm. Removed rear wheel but couldn't see a way of taking up (some)slack. Should I be worried?
  9. Thanks for your reply jb. how do you remesh? I just fitted the main gear with a piece of paper between it and the pinion as suggested in the manual. My plastic main gear seemed fine apart from serious wear on 20deg. of the circumference which was obviously causing the unsatisfactory drive.
  10. Thanks for info but to clarify the clutch is fine--it's the poor engagement between main gear and pinion that's causing the problem. I had previously fitted the steel main gear and-presumably it is fractionally smaller than the plastic one as I was not satisfied with it's engagement and reverted to the plastic one. So plastic v steel--any opinions?
  11. Hi All, Just replaced my worn plastic main gear with metal one but still experiencing a degree of slip. It's very easy to get slippage if you hold the pinion gear and turn the main gear manually.13t pinion doesn't seem worn to my untrained eye (shouldn't be if it's only been engaging with plastic main gear) but before ordering a new pinion gear was wondering if there is a way to adjust/improve engagement between the two or if anyone can make any suggestions. Cheers, Graeme
  12. Thanks gents--thought that was the case but wanted to be sure.
  13. I'm using a 3200maH Overlander with my M5 If I were to use a 4200 maH 7.2V would this mean longer battery life or just a nasty burning smell followed by a non-functioning bike?
