  1. Just sold my trophy bug on ebay for 165 quid and then 20 quid postage on top of that. very dissapointing that after two weeks on this forum I got nowhere even after offering it for 120 posted to a number of people. and then to add insult to injury I even got offered 80 pounds at one point on here!!! such a shame that people on here will try to pull a fast one on me when they know full well it's worth a lot more than what they were asking :(

You can't take it personally when selling items on open forum, simple.

It's only worth that price to someone that wants one of them ;)

  2. one final bump before this all goes on ebay at 5PM TODAY. Not going any lower than the bargain price that I've asked,, as it will sell for more on ebay anyway.
  3. this is going on ebay on sunday as this has wasted my time really, anyone want to get themselves an absolute bargain before it goes?
  4. bump, c'mon it's not exactly expensive hahaha if it is out of your price range feel free to send me an offer
  5. Having A clear out so I can refresh with a shiny new brushless 1/8th My First item for sale is a HPI Trophy Buggy 3.5. I would say it is technically working, but the slightly lacking compression, and my tuning skill makes it a pain to start in the cold. HOWEVER, it still runs after a fiddle and once it's tuned up it has a surprising amount of power given the circumstances. The brakes need a re-adjust but have a fair amount of braking surface left. There is a couple of upgrades that have been fitted: a new tuned pipe, bearings to replace the bushes in the servo saver, fuel filter, a fastrax 3 piece clutch set, an etronix digital throttle servo, a prolux digital steering servo, and a hump pack to replace the AAs for the receiver. Also I recently did a complete overhaul of the shocks (new bushes, seals, lockrings, shafts and 45w oil), changed the clutch bearings, and replaced the exhaust gaskets. As far as cosmetic condition is concerned; its a mess! The shell is beaten up pretty bad and has a couple of cracks, the underside of the chassis is very well scratched, and the wheels are pretty scratched up. The inside of the car is in good nick really, not many visible scratches. Included is the complete, working car, shell, HPI TX-40 TX/RX, Tools such as 2 wheel/glowplug wrenches, 2 glowstarters (one of which can be externally powered with virtually any battery and has never been used), flywheel tool, clutch tool, IR Thermometer, fuel bottle. Consumables such as after run oil (about 3/4 full bottle), shock oil (1 half bottle, 1 full, both 45W), Chargers for: 2s/3s Lipos/Lifes (included because I inevitably wanted to solder a deans connector to the glowstarter, and attach a lipo. But I dont have a lipo, or deans plugs ) and a charger for the hump pack. I am also throwing in a huge number of spares (some of which cost a fair bit), there are too many to mention, see pictures. I'm looking for
  6. I wanna see these custom parts ;) Whatever you try you will never have a good acme unfourtunately, but I don't get why you're so desperate to fit a slide carb engine in. I could be wrong but I don't see it being likely that you will ever work on a model scale nitro or anything similar as an engineer looking at the photos on nitro tek, it looks as though the outdrive faces the back of the car, the carb is opposite that, and the exhaust output is on the side!! What's the chance of you finding a (decent) engine that has the same crazy design as that!?????!
  7. probably the servos will go a bit erattic while your driving. The throttle will get locked on full and it will slam straight into a wall/kerb
  8. look I know i'm going completely against the rules here, but seriously chuck that condor on ebay in good working condition; get
  9. a lot of people also use 25% nitro with their trophies; much improved performance with that
  10. ahhh you're in america; there's a few u.s blokes on this forum but as far as shops and fuel brands go, most people have no idea about them here!! I've never heard of O'Donnell fuel, but as long as I don't hear modeltechnics (crappy u.k fuel made of water and a bit of food colouring pretty much ) i'm sure you'll be fine. Give the hobby shop a tinkle and see what they say; i'm sure they'll help you )
  11. the nitro sport has a very forgiving engine that accepts a huge tuning range; most other engines are generally a bit of a pig to tune and keep running so bear with your trophy. As a general rule: the higher performance an engine, the harder it is to tune; but IMO easy to tune engines are the best engines!!
  12. if you find an air leak don't bother fixing it if it's new, ring up where you bought it from and get them to send you a new car. Most nitros sound like crap on their first few tanks. If it's not an air leak take it to the shop you bought it from and ask them for help with tuning and breaking in; if it was a recent purchase they're bound to help you (possibly for free) in the hope that you'll stay a customer. You probably want to get a different glow plug; medium hot would be good as the trophy comes with a cold and that just won't cut it in cold weather. what fuel are you using? And what shop did you buy it from?
  13. oops (me trying to be clever/helpful) thought the intake pipes were the same size for anything! suppose you make sense as it would all be out of proportion lol! Sorry!!
  14. basically go for optifuel, or byron's race gen and you'll have a wild time (there are a few others, but they're expensive/difficult to get hold of) 25% has worked well for me so i'd recommend getting that for your trophy
