  1. Thanks Stevo! Yeah it is pretty darned quick. I ran it with a 21 (or 20?) tooth pinion when the weather cooled down last fall and it was an absolute rocket. I love the way it just stuck to the ground too... I still have the zero kick chassis so I may rebuild the car as it was but I would need to figure out the body mounting, bumper and all that. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need for mine but I haven't looked at it in awhile so I'm not sure. I guess I'll figure it out when I start building it. lol Give it time and get everything together, it'll be worth it ;-)
  2. Well I never really finished it but I ran it as it was and it handled pretty amazing. I ran the stock front center dog bone with 2 rubber o-rings in each cup keeping it center and I never had an issue with it falling out. I wasn't able to find a longer dog bone but I don't really think it was needed. I have a bunch of video of it on my youtube channel- https://www.youtube.com/user/mmq48/videos Just look for the "On Road WR8".
  3. Well by just looking at it I do really like the scale. I really want to get the chassis assembled so I can see what it looks like in real life ;-)
  4. I got a new body for my RS4 Rally!-
  5. My WR8 Redux body came in the other day. It is in pretty good shape, not the best but considering it will be on a runner and not a shelf car that is fine with me. Check it out- Noticed it has the infamous "WR8 Traction Roll Rash" 8-p The front look pretty good- The other side with a little more "WR8 Traction Roll Rash"- And check out that ass ;-) And the wheels that came with the body- Overall I'd say the rubber has lots of life left in it- Lastly... I pretty much have TRACTION for days, and days ;-) I'll admit not all of the wheels and tires are for the WR8. The 3 sets of belted slicks in the center, most of the assorted mesh rims (especially the hard to find Gold set!!) and the 2 sets of non belted slicks (in the zip lock bag to the left) will primarily be used on my HPI Super RS4. But I'll probably strap on set now and then when I try to get some speed runs going. As for the car itself, it's still sitting in a box fully unassembled. I'm getting myself psyched up to get put back together though. Spring is coming! What do you guys think? Should I get the bad larry built or what?
  6. Yeah I saw those. The chrome was a little too blingy for me though ;-)
  7. That actually doesn't sound bad at all! On 3s I would burn through stock HPI tires in about 3-4 runs. Plus sliding is better than rolling in my book! It make for better gymkhana style driving to me.
  8. Awesome! Yeah that is a great deal even if you are just keeping them for spares. I'm patiently waiting for the snow to melt here too. I have awhile to go though as there is still 2-3feet on the ground! We lost a good 11 inches over the last week though so I'm starting to get spring fever! Days are in slowly creeping into the 40s! (sorry about all my non metric & non Celsius rambling!) Anyway, I hope those tires do the car some justice. At the price even if they are just fair I think they are worth it but I haven't even put glue to mine yet so i don't know for sure.
  9. Nice collection Bridge! How are you liking the ebay wheel sets? Have you put any abuse through them yet?
  10. That must have been a bunch of fun! I wish I had WR8 brethren around my parts to run with... Did anyone take video of the race?
  11. This one work? http://youtu.be/38W1-Mzh5Jc
  12. These were the bigger washers under the larger spider gears on the output sides of my diffs. It is good that yours were fine, I wonder if they only get deformed from being stressed with thicker fluid? I was running 10k front and rear and this is what my shim/washers looked like I'm not sure if anyone else with similar set ups have put the beat down like I did with my car last summer ;-) I was driving it almost every other day on high traction pavement. It was pretty fun stuff! See here for example: http://youtu.be/38W1-Mzh5Jc
  13. Nice job! How were the diff spacers (washers) inside the diffs? After a season of use mine were pretty wrecked! See here: http://i.imgur.com/E7Y0QJl.png Just wondering what others are finding when they are opening them up.
  14. Oh yeah! I can't wait! I still want to pick up a Subaru body when they come out. But now that I have a body I feel like I can get to building where before I felt like everything was hinging on whether or not they were going to release the other body here. I want this build to look and handle awesome so it's going to take some time and effort on my part. I decided to go with the 103395 threaded aluminum shocks all around. I figured if I'm building it from the ground up I may as well do it right! I'm also glad there is a supply of cheap tires out there now too as it will make hooning on it that much more enjoyable ;-)
  15. Oh I've gone and picked myself up a 2013 kb body and wheels for my summer WR8 build ;-) It was a used set in good condition and it came with the cyan speedline wheels with Gymkhana tires in good condition and an extra set of the off road wheels. Id still like to get a suby body but at least now my build isn't hinging on the it being available in time or not. Lol. .
  16. Oh snap! Those are sweet! You UK guys get all the awesome stuff!
  17. To me the kit looks pretty much the same, just the shell and wheels being different. The advert for the new model is here: http://www.hpiracing.com/en/kit/114187 Mike
  18. I don't know, I kind of like this years model, if you look closely they are finally updating the shell to the actual fiesta ST- It is funky... and it's growing on me. I think if I have the money I'll pickup one of the shells for the collection. I still need to get me one of these too- I think they are both great. I'd love to pick up an original shell too but that probably won't happen. lol.
  19. Nice! Thanks guys! And yeah I hope HPI does this one next year... it is pretty awesome!
  20. You got a link to where it was announced? I've been looking around and haven't seen anything. You would think it would be on the http://www.hooniganracing.com/ site... lol
  21. Looks pretty good. Is this the KB 2015 livery? It's a bummer HPI can't seem to get the license for the current years livery in time to release them while he is still racing that body style. I wonder if it is something contractual that is causing the delay?
  22. Indeed. I'll be beating the heck out of my integy set for sure. The stock dogbones held up pretty well with my last setup so if the integy ones hold up as well as the stockers I'll be happy. We will have to do some sort of pin wear comparison at the end of next season to see how they both look along with reporting any failures of either product. FWIW I'll also be running the integy "HD" center drive shafts with the new build. I'm very interested to see if the pins last any longer than the stock parts. Seeing as the price of the integy parts were pretty cheap if there is an improvement over stock I'll be pleasantly surprised.
  23. 0Oh yeah the GPM CVD's defiantly look easier to work on than the Integy counterparts... and cheaper! I'm kicking myself for not holding out longer for them to be released. Oh well, you win some you loose some!
  24. Yeah that truly sucks... especially after seeing that body! It is amazing... Half good news is the Subie bodies come clear.
  25. Hmm... not bad, I kind of like it. I'm sure it will be a hit with the masses and keep the KB/WR8 chassis franchise rolling. That is all that matters really. The more they sell the longer they will be in production ;-) And cheaper the parts will eventually get. I wonder if I'll see these bodies in the chop shops before I see the Rally Cross Subaru WRX STI on store shelves in the US? lol
