  1. Heres the pics, A Force 28 on the left and SH28 on the right Backplate to wide for chassis pkates Engine mounts filed to fit engine, you can also see how far past the crankcase the backplate goes. Is this a one off or are there other engines that we should look out for for this? Alkan
  2. Just took my gt out with an sh 28 6 port, boy its torquey as a mother, 16t bell with 3 shoe alu clutch was nearly wheelieing from standstill, just need to modify the back plate so it wilk fit in the truggy without the huge spacers i had to use to get it mounted (backplate is wider than any other engine ive had and needed the stock engine mounts needed modified to clear the backplate, then large spacers to lift the engine up to clear the chassis mount), need to look out my 17t bell me thinks. Ill get some pics up once i clean her and fit new wheel bearings Allan
  3. Hi, if yiu are still looking for these, i just bought a lot that has (i think) landmax's, pm me if your still looking Thanks Allan
  4. Why do yiu think the hit bodies mount wont work? Its listed as an optional part for my gt. My hands aint what they use to be, took me literally 20 mins to put the 4 front diff to chassis screws in as my whole hand and arm kept locking, so doing that kind of work is aff the table atm, though i noticed that i gave a couple spacers between the mount and the block (though cant remember why), if i can lose them it should help a wee bitty I thought i had an answer flywheel on but just remembered that it was too small so dug out the biggest 3 shoe flywheel i had, so ill need to get it off and measure it. Thanks for the offer of the engine mount set but i already have a couple sets of those mounts, just didnt know the screw sizes, the ones i have on the truck atm are just a bunch of randoms from my screw box, so thanks for those sizes I have always wondered if there was a quick release mount like the one in your link that would work on the lightning/trophy series nitros, would make clutch adjustments a whole lot more quicker If your still on the lookout for cheaper stronger cvds for the truggy, i might have something thats right down your alley, ill send you a pm Allan
  5. Hey, im gonna ask a super noob question, could someone give me the sizes of all 3 of the engine mount screws please. Also what it the biggest dia flywheel available? The reason i ask is that the answer-rc one i currently have is a struggle to get it come into contact with my starter box Thanks Allan
  6. That is the way to do it, sod cleaning that up though Allan
  7. Hi guys, long time no see, im now getting the gt our of hibernation ready for if the weather actually gets reasonable enough to get out Heres's a little ebay spend to get me started Not too bad for £13 posted, i also have a pair of de racing (i think) d8t mud guards on there way tòo, axles stripped and new bearings on, bumper bracket being repaired, now just to get a new piston/liner or new engine and clutch shoes and ill be ready to run Allan
  8. Got this today to get the gt out of hibernation All unopened and all for £13 (inc postage) Allan
  9. I had this problem too off stripping the threads so i bought a helicoil kit, cost about the same as a pair of hubs and once you add slightly longer screws jobs done, worked well for both standard and optional (the fancy cnc hubs) Nearly time to get my beasty back out of hibernation, and get her ready for when this bloody rain and cruddy weather buggers off Happy new year to you all Allan
  10. have you thought about drilling the mount holes at the dame angle as the body so you can remove the external foam blocks all together allan
  11. Would make a great Christmas present for someone, even if that someone is yourself Allan
  12. Hello, here we have my beautiful Speed Freaks model, i pre ordered this from a store in Dundee just short of 9 years ago when i found out about it and that there were going to be only 500 of these made worldwide, it was initially placed on display (no kids at that time and in a smoke free home) always dry dusted (no chemical cleaners used), then i had kids and it was placed back into the box safe from tiny hands, it's been in that box for around 6 years, there is no chips, scratches or broken bits, even the double aerial is still attached (most i've seen for sale have broken aerials). Im sad to see this go, but with a couple kids in the house i don't want to risk it getting damaged in any way, but sitting in its box in the cupboard its not getting enjoyed by anyone so sadly i think it has to go. I will not post this item, im sorry but i don't want to risk anything happening to it, i may deliver to the surrounding areas (please feel free to ask) you are also welcome to collect. Size (inches) 15.75 x 10.25 x 14.7 I am hoping for £250 (though i may accept an offer) for this, remember this is quite a low numbered car, sure it isn't one of the first 10 or first 50 made, but its pretty close, it comes with the original box (its seen better days though) with the original protective polystyrene block thing, the certificate and a little Speed Freaks pamphlet thing that came in the box. The PS4 controller you see in some of the pictures is to show that this is not one of the smaller "scoobies" that were made, also the controller IS NOT INCLUDED If you would like any other pictures or have any questions please feel free to ask I would prefer this to be collected (or delivered locally) initially as i wouldn't want anything to potentially happen to it in the post Thank you.. Allan If needed, i can take a few more pictures of it with other things for comparison just so you get how big this thing is
  13. Thanks guys for replying, before hooking the servos together and to the steering, i "tested" them with horns on, they both moved in time (by eye), speed and angle seemed to be the same, once hooked together (not steering) they again seemed to move in time with no "buzzing" you would get if a servo was fighting against another to centre, joined to the steering and all worked perfectly. Is there a way to more accurately test/ adjust to match a couple of servo's? Oh i forgot to say that i added a capacitor to the 3rd channel as i thought i would need one as there was the strain of 2 high torque servos Here's a couple pictures of the servo, one with a not so charged one for comparison (not that its needed) Allan
  14. Hi, sorry for the late reply, i've just noticed that the forum is back, are you interested in both (the buggy brace and buggy/truggy centre diff mount) or is it just one of them? Allan
  15. Hey guys, i have a couple alturn 750 servos (bought used from different sources) servo1 ran fine as a steering servo on my Lightning GT, after buying another 750 servo (servo 2) i added it to the empty space (Lightning GT has dual steering servos), also changed the throttle to a savox servo, took the truck out (oh i tested the servos in house first and they seemed to work fine), bloody engine broke (yeah i don;t have the best of luck with used engines, so if anyone needs picco 21 and 26 parts let me know lol), as i was trying the get the engine going on the starer box, i noticed smoke coming from servo1 (there was nothing touching the steering control, packed up and went home, the servo1 dose not work at all now, servo 2 still seems to work fine, then the receiver lost connection with transmitter, i re bind and now the throttle control is jerky and dose not turn the the servo horn the full way, switched the servo 2 and throttle servo leads round and servo 2 starts the funny business so i am sure that its not the servos I have a 6v hump pack (bought new from usa), a capacitor thing plugged into receiver. The transmitter is a Carson reflex wheel-x 2.4ghz 2 channel with a arson reflex 2.4ghz 4 channel receiver. I have had a few issues with the tx/rx loosing signal (as fail safe brakes are applied) then re connecting itself (i assumed there was interference coming from somewhere but not not so sure. If anyone gets what im rambling on about id be grateful for some advice Thank you all very much Allan
  16. I said that i think he was on about the rear brace for the lightning/trophy buggies, but that it didn't fit the truggy chassis. Its actually from a Hot Bodies GTX-2, i had to alu weld/braze the rear brake hole on the centre diff top plate then re drill a smaller hole (first time doing it with a low temp alu weld kit which explains why its a tad rough looking), the mounting hole on the rear carbon brace was there from the factory (alot of the lightning stadium/ trophy truggy rear braces still have the hole there Well the reason for this pipe was the manifold i had for my engine, it was either buy a stubby pipe like that this one or spend a lot more on manifold, pipe and a wider shell to contain the side pipe, this one is just short enough to fit under my shell and some research seemed to suggest that this pipe worked well with picco big blocks (currently an xp g1 .21 turbo) I tried to look for a trinity clone prior to getting this resonator pipe, but i couldn't hold off buying a pipe any longer. So what's this stinger mod? Allan
  17. Thanks, maybe it's just cause i've changed so much on this i was making myself a bit paranoid. The brace is on the centre diff to the rear brace, here is a couple clearer pictures I think the one that your on about is the optional rear brace for the trophy buggy like this one im selling atm (if anyone's interested ) But this one doesn't fit on the lightning stadium/gt/trophy truggy chassis's Here's my little receiver box mod, it needs a little light sanding and maybe a little paint/vinyl I used a recharge port thing for rc planes, a bit of cutting and jb weld and there we are, no need to continuously open/close the receiver box every time you need to charge Allan
  18. Or how about Something can be learned from every breakage (didn't use smell checker this time) Anyway, i have a small niggle with mine, mine started as a Lightning gt (roller) back in January and since then she's gone threw a staggering change, well to be honest the only parts from the original truggy are the centre diff, the front upper chassis brace, servo deck and the 2 into 1 servo wire (from the receiver to the 2 steering servo's, thats it (so is it still technically a lightning gt?????) Oh yes the "niggle" right, well she's been threw quite a time, grass runs, a short bmx track for jumps, some rolls etc inbetween all the upgrades/changes, and looking at the front shock tower from the side, i have this niggle (yes im finally getting to the niggle) that its sitting squint/bent as the front body post pins seem to be sitting at an angle as dose the front bumper/skidplate, so could someone please have a we looky at these pics and see if im just loosing it And just for a we laugh, dose anyone know where this little brace come from (hint.... its from the hpi/hot bodies stables) And lastly, something im going to try and incorperate Once i get her out, ill take a few better pis and show off my new charging port Allan
  19. Call it your continuing quest to test the indestructibility (yes i used spell check) of the trophy truggy, and as long as you can break it your quest will continue. Allan
  20. Wish i could get out on mine, rebuilt the shocks (aswell as adding another 4 ), new fuel line, new exhaust, waterproof receiver box and servo's, just need the engine now Allan
