  1. Been working lates all week and haven't had chance to do much of anything. All my bits came that I ordered. Got both sets of brakes, a kill switch, 30wt oil for shocks, and some after run oil. Soon as I got in last night I got down to stripping the shocks, cleaning and refilling. Took me about 40 mins. Looked like it had the same oil in from factory. It was dark brown. But after, the shocks feel a lot firmer. I have a set of black springs spare and the purple/pink ones equipped. Today I'm going to replace the brakes and do a clean Down. From the looks of things everything is stock on it besides the brakes I'm about to put on, the spur gear is a anodised metal one not sure if that is stock. Any suggestions on what hop ups I could start off with ?
  2. What kind of temperature did you put the dishwasher on ? When you strip it down to oil / grease what would you use for the joints, shafts and gear box ? Recently bought 2 second hand cars that id like to strip clean and rebuild with some new parts.
  3. Stainless steel brake kit, fibre glass brake kit, suspenion oil, anda kill switch for my savage ^.^
  4. I wasnt expecting to see this when i saw the thread title, needless to say it made me chuckle rather loud on the commute to work. Everything that is on the first picture was left on when you did this ?
  5. Thank you Atom, you've been very helpful on both of my threads now.
  6. Thank you guys, I understood some of that. So if he's been running it on 25% without any problems even though its a .18 engine, there shouldn't be any issues with engine wear as its been thoroughly broken in ( loosened? )
  7. Is there any truth in this statement " The impression that I get is that 33% runs hotter than 20%. So if you were running 20% and then moved up to 33%, the increased heat would expand the piston and close the clearence with the cylinder wall. This is OK if you stay with 33%, but if you go back to 20% the decrease in heat will cause more combustion leakage. You can go up in nitro, but it is not recommended that you backtrack." I havnt got any fuel with this, so im on the look out for some, so it could be a case of buying one fuel for both cars or one for each.
  8. Ok the guy got back to me eventually and said he was using Monster Nitro fuel at 25%. Isnt that a little strong for an 18 engine ?
  9. Hello again guys, after my hpi savage purchase I've gone and bought a Himoto Syclone on the cheap for ****s and giggles, only thing is the guy I bought it from on flea bay, does not seem to be very sure as to what fuel and mix he was using in this. So my question is what should I do ? Reset to factory and start with a 15% or 20% and re-tune ?
  10. @ Nitroholic I just clicked on that link and that is the same listing I bought lol prior to clicking it :-D
  11. Yeah I totally am so not going to break this on purpose, I'd like to get the brake system replaced ASAP, and a new shell. Already got a tool kit started which I went and bought today, an cleaning kit of brushes and swabs. The rest will be general pimpin till something falls over and dies the true death
  12. Great ! I'm already ebay'ing for parts and spares lol, and watching a Kyosho inferno neo for my lad, it looks right up his street and has just had a rebuild, we'll say it's his for his an the missus sake but in reality it's MINE ! Mwahah
  13. Got shot of missus and kids for a few hours and managed to up some photos to photo bucket. 14. Hello folks, first I asked myself why the heck I didn't get one of these things sooner ! I immediately got giddy as soon as I drove it around my local fire stations car park. Well anyway, I bought this of one of the guys at work after him and his children no longer used it, and for
