  1. Hi Does anyone know what pipe this is a clone of? It's called a Kingmotor Dragonfly: http://www.rcmodelz.co.uk/product/dragon-pipe-tuned-pipe-exhaust.php It exits to the left so it's not a rear Dom like I thought I ordered. If anyone can identify it my next question will be is it any good with a T1000/5T 30.5cc? Cheers DARSKi
  2. Hi All I thought I would update my KM T1000 thread after finishing two tanks running her in and installing some LED's. I'm very impressed so far and really enjoying the petrol / largescale scale thing...just can't wait to get off-road now. After some recommendations to ditch the SS pipe that came with it I've got a rear dom clone on the way so I'm going to tune for that. Hoping next update contains a full bash session with a buddy who has a new Losi 5t. Anyway, here's some pics. This site has been a great help getting this far.
  3. Yep I can confirm, it works as expected and a bargain for what I needed...I ordered my KM Baja at 3pm on a Thursday and asked RCModelz if they could fit their killswitch to my RTR T1000 and ship the lot to me for the weekend. I took delivery 10am the next day and everything so far has been great with the Baja (1 tank) and switch. However, my mate bought the killer bee killswitch at the same time for his Losi 5T and had a few hassles getting it to work with his setup and Killer RC answered his support email with a fix within minutes, so both companies get respect from me. I've also bought KRC suspension cables and will be going super bee for my next largescale rig in the spring.
  4. Thanks again guys! - brill feedback on this forum. I'm gonna try the fuel line mod and the 3rd break disc thing and see how I go from there. Gonna run it's second tank tomorrow if it's dry
  5. Hi Macgregor - yeah I found that out yesterday during breakin. Green led means engine killed It took a while to get it going, due to carb settings I think, but after while I got it started and ran a tank through it with a few breaks. My mate also ran in his Losi 5T. I'm loving my KM T1000 though, quite a bit louder and faster up to half throttle than the stock Losi, but he also has a pipe to fit and will mash me off-road. Only thing I've noticed coming from electric is the brakes are erm, interesting...even after some adjustment. What does everyone do to improve their brakes on a KM 5B/5T? I'll be putting some research time in later but if anyone wants to suggest anything feel free.
  6. Thanks everyone! I think I'm set - a green light for go, else I'm testing for a spark. Cheers!
  7. Thanks guys! I don't see it flashing. Mine is either green light on or off. I guess green light on means killswitch off...and no green light is on? Watchman is your the RC Modelz
  8. Hi I'm going to break in my KM T1000 tomorrow and I've just finished the initial setup. RCModelz fitted one of their killswitchs for me and everything seems to work fine as I can see a green led light going on and off in my RX box if I switch channel 3. So my stupid question is what status is the RC Modelz killswitch in when the green led is on or off? I don't want to go heaving on the starter first pull to find it was set to kill ;-) Any help appreciated. Cheers D
  9. Yeah I'm impressed with the KM for what it cost. The 5T body shell is gonna get smacked up and the Beetle shell will eventually too mate, soz! RC Modelz had a silver beetle body for sale for
  10. Thanks guys!! The shell is the KM one not Proline, but for the money its very good. I used 3x cans of flip paint and 2x black backing. The Silkolene sticker came with the Beetle bodyshell along with a load of horrendous decals and NO window stencils so I had to mask it all by hand which sucks. It was the only decal that was usable too. I'm gagging to see how she goes after run in! Forgot to say, thanks for sorting my pics for this post mate
  11. Ha ok, but I've managed to avoid doing that for years - I will next time as it would be handy
  12. Hi All A few weeks ago I ordered a KM T1000 (Baja 5T) from RC Modelz. It arrived the next day and they even fitted their killswitch for me. Great price and service! Overall I'm very happy with what I got for my cash, but the weather has been rubbish so I decided to do some of the common upgrades and finished up today by spraying up a Baja Bug bodyshell. I can't wait to get her run-in and make sure I film her first spanking on the beach http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/album/3159-/ I'll report back soon after some driving time. Cheers DARSKi
  13. Hi Sorry to jump in but I just received a KM T1000a 30.5 after ordering it yesterday The lads at RC Modelz even fitted their kill switch before shipping and I decided to grab some outwear and rear sandpaddles. I'm just setting it up now and the quality seems good. I've noticed a few things to replace and/or fix but my shopping list is small so far. I intended on keeping costs down and spanking it and replacing stuff as I need, but we will see lol. I'm going to order a few obvious and essential upgrades this weekend. I also have a Slash 4x4, Apache SC and a Super 5SC so I will be able to compare durability/build quality. This is my first petrol RC and it's going to be interesting. I'll video my first runs after run-in and will report back if anyone is interested. Feel free to ask any questions as I'm a relative n00b...I've just finished watching all 7 Fast Eddy 5T setup videos ;-) Cheers
  14. Thanks guys! Heading to Dawlish Warren again tomorrow morning 10am-1pm if anyone wanted to pop along. Sorry for late notice. Hopefully another video to follow
  15. Hi, your track looks great and is the closest to us. I will gather some mates together and we will checkout your race dates. More video's to come...a couple of others are available from my website (www.darski.co.uk) or my youtube channel. Thanks for the positive feedback...loving the editing, so much more fun that weddings or corporate videos!
  16. Hi All I finally joined the forum after using it as a great source of information this summer. I've been into heli's, quads and FPV for a few years, but I was introduced to an Apache SC three months ago and now I'm hooked. Here's a video taken at the weekend, nothing special but a great laugh to film and edit: We are still trying to find places to race and bash in the south west and are even considering renting some land and building a descent large scale track...anyway, that conversation is for another day. Cheers DARSKi
