I run 2 of the cheaper ones on steering on me 1/8th brushless rc`s....and 2 1256`s aswell....tbh cant tell difference between them.....and my Baja came with the last one I linked and it locks the wheels up no probs....but its not cheap.....glad mine came with as I`d never of spent that on a servo....

Not sure what you mean by spare wheel but the clutch will turn when starting.

If you mean spur gear then no, that shouldn't turn and would indicate clutch issues.

no spur gear does not turn. i though it turns.

unless the clutch is stuck fully engaged....which makes it interesting to start

When  mine did this me mate blasted a airline  in the plug hole  and it fired  straight  up........i had sparks on a new plug..jus would  not sarliN...airline...job done! !

Interesting, I didn't know that.  I know the dbx is a bit marmite and a 1/9 scale with 1/10 electrics - perhaps HK have used a different centre chassis in order to get it to 1/8 scale.

The DBX is 1/8th in size almost, but not in weight. It has the same centre diff chassis layout as a normal 1/8th but everything is just that little bit smaller so its very light for its look and size...it comes with an orion 60amp esc and 550 size motor 2400kv...mine ran 3s all day long...geared up aswel!...it now runs the 4s setup from my trophy flux buggy and is probably the quickest car ive got. On 4s that is.

does anybody have 1/8 Rattler electric buggy from hobbyking. are they any good for the price

my flywheel missing about 5 fins. would that be the problem?

also when i go to pullstart it is very stiff i broke few pullstart over this..

Broken fins on the flywheel might just make it less efficient at cooling. Mayb at worst cause it to be unbalanced but I doubt it would be an issue. I really don't see it adding to the noise.  

I'm not an expert tho mate.  

Since I haven't seen it done there's probably a reason why, but I've wondered if using steel wool inside an exhaust would baffle it. Reducing the sound. It probably messes up the compression which is why it's not used. 

A long rubber hose can reduce sound too but not enough. Atleast 2stroke isn't as high pitched as nitro tho. 

Brushless is the only silencer I think. But at too much of a cost.  

Samba is about as loud... Although a little more powerful. I've got one with a dent if interested

I'm not called Stephen but no problem.
Easiest thing to do would be to put you trim a little bit more into the throttle position and just turn the idle screw in a little bit unntil it doesn't cut out when you press the brakes, then just move the trim back so it idles properly.

mine did this when kill switch was a bit dicky or batt was low. sat still no gas turn left engine stopped without any gas on.

What did you clean the air filter with? If you used a mix of petrol/oil like some people do, it might just be sucking a little bit through, in which case it's nothing at all to worry about and it'll be gone after half a tank or so

Hi there yes i cleaned the air fliter with petrol. got fresh petrol today. ran it for 15 mins in back garden. i will give it good run tomorrow see how it goes

It'll be something and nothing, if the engine is running okay, I wouldn't worry about it, they do sometimes let out just a little bit of blue smoke, as long as the power is still there and it isn't bogging down and ticks over fine, don't give it a second thought

It's just wear and tear, pullstarts aren't expensive and if you use them right, should last you at least a year, just for a stock one, I'm still using a stock Zenoah one and it's been going well over two years, original string as well.

4 bolts to undo the pullstart assembly from the engine case

1 screw to undo to dismantle the internals

should show you enough to do what you need to do

Sounds like you need to mesh mod your engine... And FYI, in future, don't try to force the flywheel to the point of snapping a fin off, if something is lodged in it or that badly stuck, you'll only do more harm than good by trying to force it

Nope, it'll shake the rest of your engine to bits, replace it before running.

Depends which part of Ireland you're from, if memory serves, Northern Ireland is more expensive than Southern... I buy my tyres from Neil @ Silverback because they're the best for price... Might be worth shopping around though, try Freeprawn, Abbots and MMR.

When it's empty from a big jump

That's a very valid point on the fuel lines... I think perhaps a block cap vent or something like that would cause a bit more permenant bogging though... Everything is worth checking obviously.

OH: a partially block vent hole does, hole big enough to let air in but not enough to keep up with fuel usage.

Something must be rubbing mate. friction causes the heat. traxxas clutch bells are weird size are you using another brand of shoes? Or is the idel set high so the shoes are always engaged slightly.
