  1. I was worried this was going to be the case. I've just tried the stock servo back on it and it works fine... Bugger..the servo I bought was a hitec hs 5425. I have heard these have nylon gears in. I may go for the hitec hs 225mg as I think these are metal? Unless anyone has any suggestions that will fit. Thanks for your help.
  2. Hi all, I have just replaced my stock servo for a hi tech servo in my losi mini 8ight and all has been fantastic until today. The steering is just not working, there is no response from my controller, the throttle still works but the servo is stuck and I can't get it to move, even if I try to shift it with my hands. Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's only a few weeks old. Forgive me as I am new to this and am having to learn pretty quick to keep the car running. Many thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks all for your replies, I have managed to find a Gens Ace 1800 2s and it sits in the car perfect. Next issue I have is...( please be aware I am new to this ) the connector is different from the one on the losi battery. I have tried to research this and I think its a deans t connector, whats the best option to sort this? Is there an adapter or do I need to strip the wires? Also still wanting to buy a new Charger but have no idea what I should be looking for. Many thanks again.
  4. Hi All, Im in the process of upgrading my sons mini 8ight and I have currently replaced plastic bits that have broken with alloy / carbon bits. I have just replaced the standard servo with a Hitec following advice on here and that seems to be working nice. the next upgrade im looking at is the battery to a 2s Lipo but I have no idea what to go for/, I don't understand how the battery information works eg Mah, 20c / 30c etc. I have been informed a 2s is a good start as a 3s may be a little too powerful for my son but I don't know which battery to go for that will fit in the car. Im assuming I will need to replace the connecters as they all look different to my losi battery? Also if anyone could give me advice on a charger to purchase to go with the battery. Many thanks in advance.
  5. Are there any 2s Lipos that fit without modding??
  6. Yes brand new. really sorry but as I say we are new to this, what is the tx and rx? and what would I need to do? Many thanks
  7. Well that's a shame, my young one has been out using the car this afternoon and now for some reason it has just stopped working, batteries are all fully charged and there is just nothing. It drove about 30 yards away and then stopped dead and would not work. I picked the car up turned it off then back on and it worked again, then 5 mins later there is just nothing. The steering nor the throttle work it's as if the controller is not sending to the car? Does anyone have any ideas? Please.
  8. Now adjusted and it has solved the spinning up issue, 1 of the grub screws was a little loose so going to thread lock them today. Many thanks.
  9. Many thanks you have put our mins at rest, I shall check the grub screw when I get back make sure it is tight. Can I just ask what is the TH knob on the controller? I have Sussed that the other one adjusts the steering. Many thanks
  10. Hi all, very new to the rc scene and have just purchased a mini 8ight for my young son but have to admit it has given me the bug and am going to be getting one for myself. The main issue I have is I have no idea what I am doing and if the car is set up right or anything. We purchased this car following advice from the shop and am so far impressed with it. It is totally standard and straight out of the box. A couple of questions if I may. 1. When the car is switched on it makes a buzzing sound but not all the time, even when the controller is not switched on, is it supposed to do this? 2. I have literally charged the battery up put it in and drove it, do I need to do any setting up at all or is this ok? 3. When I pull the trigger on the controller the metal cog on the motor can spin without the car moving, this is when you pull the trigger slightly, if I apply more pressure it kicks in and away we go.is this supposed to be like this? As I say this car is my sons and he is only 6 but is heavily exited by it, I know he will break odd bit on it as he goes along but have been informed all replacement parts are readily available. Sorry for maybe not using the correct terminology but as I say I am new to this and as a father son thing we shall learn together. Many thanks in advance. Welly.
