  1. Well I'm at the track. Where is everyone?
  2. Took delivery of my new shell. Woohoo! ">http://>
  3. I should be there between 1 and half past.
  4. That seems more complicated than the method I learnt. Accelerate to bring the front end up, brake to push it down. Simple in theory!
  5. No, still waiting for my new diff cases for the Optimus to be in stock, it's been over a week already! Grrrrrrrr! I'm going to order a new shell for the Maverick tonight though, that ramp testing yesterday finally killed it. I'll have to repair it with yet more shoe goo for Saturday though.
  6. Keep enough throttle on to keep the front up. It'll be fine!
  7. Woohoo! Thanks Bez and Pistonhead!
  8. Did some ramp testing today. Didn't have much of a run up but the lawn was the only soft thing I could find to land on! [ A less than perfect landing!
  9. I have to save up for most things from my Saturday job! Just over
  10. Funnily enough I was just looking at used HPIs, there a few decent looking ones about. It's going to be a long while until I've got enough money anyway. But yes, I agree. I hadn't really given it that much thought but I understand why your opinion on this is so strong now that you've explained the situation to me. Oh and don't worry, I don't think 26 is old!
  11. Fair enough! I understand your point of view and agree that they really should design their own stuff. I'm quite surprised HPI hasn't tried taking legal action against them, to be honest. Believe me, if I could afford an HPI then that's exactly what I would buy!
  12. Well that's good, should be easy enough to maintain then. Right, I'd better get saving!
  13. Well I'm definitely more tempted now you've said that. Couple of questions though: do HPI parts fit the KM Bajas and, if not, are KM parts easy to get hold of? Very tempted by this: http://www.rcmodelz.co.uk/rc-cars/1-5th-scale-petrol-cars/king-motor-km-002a-baja-buggy-29cc.html I'm going to see if I can make the ramp foldable/collapsible as Dad's not very happy about me keeping a massive ramp in the garage. I might be able to make it adjustable as well, still not sure if it will be strong enough though. I tested it a minute ago and learnt a valuable lesson: when you've built a big ramp, don't do the first test jumps on a hard surface like tarmac. I learnt this when the motor in the Maverick moved slightly on about the tenth landing and stripped the spur gear!
  14. OK thanks. I'll look into them a bit more if/when I seriously think about buying a 1/5th scale. At the moment I'm still paying off the loan my Dad gave me for my CC-01!
  15. I'd rather have a used genuine one as well actually. Although I'm also quite tempted by a Maverick Blackout MT, are they any good? Not that I'll be buying any more models for quite a while yet!
  16. Are they any good? I'm actually tempted.
  17. I've never come across KM before. Are they just cheap copies of the proper ones?
  18. Will you lot stop making me want a 1/5th car please!? I could sell all three of my cars and still wouldn't be able to afford one!
  19. Thanks! I don't often break parts of the Maverick but I have a feeling I might on Saturday!
  20. Here you go: ">http:// ">http://> Sorry, those are the best photos I can get at the moment.
  21. Damn! I should have thought of that, it's currently stood up on end in the garage as that's the only place I can find to keep it. I'll see if I can sort out a picture without moving the 1/1 cars out of the way. Hang on a minute...
