    Got a new 1 just 3 months ago.broke it in as stated by hpi and now I find the crank case has a big hole in the side and bits of metal spitting out.i haven't even had chance to have a good run with it.do you think this will be covered by warranty as I don't think this should happen.i just hope it gets sorted as I don't think 3 month is good for a engine

    ive got a chance on a used hpi firestorm 10t toorrow,seller says pullstart broken,is there anything i should look out for on this model,any known problems with them etc

      Not specifically. Just check the diff operates smoothly and correctly, and consider that a broken pullstart means you can;t really check the engine even runs. Check what the compression feels like and take out hte glowplug to confirm the piston moves up and down.

      1258 for sure faster and still plenty of torque.

      set your end points so the servo is moving the control bars not trying to rip them out ;)

    how unlucky was i,on full throttle and my Savox SC-1258 servo bursts into a smoke bomb resulting in a runaway-wasnt happy chasing the buggy

    my OWB is stuck in my backplate for my rotostart 2,was working perfect today then suddenly starting just spinning so i took it apart to find the owb stuck in the gear from the backplate,wont budge any ideas how to release the owb

      They are gutless, but will push a model about if you not bothered about slinging you 5-8kg savage round like a rag doll.

      They run fine, and the quality is Fine they just don't make much power. Much like a bmw 2l diesel engine.

      underneath the carb in the inlet theres usually a nut + bolt that holds it in, soak it in wd40 overnight, spray it all around the edges + a little inside maybe and try it in the morning

      Acrylic (or TS in tamiya speak), clean with soapy water before spraying. Undercoat will provide a better surface for the top coat to adhere to..they will chip in time tho..
