So sorry, I only just saw this so my reply is super late. Apart from the esc none of my electrics are stock so I have no problems, I run an cr3p tx, tower Pro servo and a goolrc motor so there isn't much of the original electrics left. Sorry I can't help. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I have the same car and it's a standard 540 motor. Your motor mount will also fit just fine. It's a doddle of a job. You can pick from any brushless or brushed 540 combo out there. I used a trackstar 80a waterproof combo. It fitted fine, it's just not in there at the moment as it's in my 4tec 2.0. You will need to alter the servo mount and be prepared to mount the esc and receiver elsewhere but it's an easy install. Also worth getting some 12mm hexes and you can put better tyres on it too.
Thanks again, funnily enough all I do is jump, most Sundays is jumping off the dunes, the sand gives a bit I would have thought. Looks like 6s is my next upgrade. [emoji3] Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Thanks for all that info dazp, I was looking at the hobby wing 150a combo, my scream died a few months ago I replaced it with the orange goolrc one you linked to. The conversion is easy enough I just wondered if the truggy is up to the power of 6s. What do you think? Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I am considering upgrading the esc to a 6s hobby wing esc as I want a little more punch, does anyone have any experience of trying this? My flux rarely brakes so I don't want to over power the drive train if it won't take it. I have the toughened diff cases already. Anyone tried? Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Sure thing. I bought this. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/trackstar-1-16th-to-1-8th-cnc-aluminum-alloy-wheel-balance-stand.html?___store=en_us Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
After 15 years of RC love I thought I knew it all, I recently dug out a sweet set of truggy tyres that I didn't like as they shook the rc too much to use. Mostly as high speed. Before i retired them to the bin I thought I might try balancing them, I ordered a cheap balancer from hobby king and set about plopping some plumbers Mait onto the inside of the dish rims. The difference is astonishing, holding the truggy in my hand at full speed is now smooth and non shaky, I went on a balancing bender then and did all my wheels on all my rc's. Best 10 bucks I ever spent Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Really? I have always thought it a tidy chassis, very strong too. The session that caused this was a one off but if it bends again I will replace the chassis, brace, shock towers and anything related, the truggy owes me nothing to be honest, after my brushless revo the truggy is a rock A good session with the erevo was not stripping a diff or snapping a shaft or the constant spur gears and so on. Although the erevo 2.0 does look awesome. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I have done a few bodies lately. A range rover for my boys crawler A Zonda and Mustang for my 4tec 2.0 and the truggy body, all are covered in battle scars. Drive it like a rental car. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I was doing well until that one hard landing, all the carnage is from one bad landing. As the back end bent inwards the body folded and split in three places. I don't worry about it, none of my cars are shelf Queens. Lol Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I was bashing down the beach with my son and the dunes were giving some fine airs, good 25ft high landing onto a slope were the norm but on the last run I messed up the angle in the air, she landed hard on her wing and started clicking and creaking. We packed up and went home. In the garage I took the body off. I have never managed bend the chassis, chassis brace and rear drive shaft before. After much stripping and rebuilding I got her perfect again with the help of my vice. Happy days, the amazing thing though is apart from some bending nothing was broken. She is one tough little beast. Photos before and after. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
It's been over due, I keep beating her but the old body is looking worn, I call it a body but it's mostly shoe goo and tape. Seems a shame to scuff it but that's exactly what's gonna happen. There's a set of new proline wheels next to it but I haven't found anything that compares to the stockers. Hope you all like. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the help fellas, in the end I opted for a clear stock body that I will paint glossy black. Modelsport to the rescue. [emoji3] Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Any recommendations chaps? My hpi truggy flux is looking a bit shabby and I fancy changing its look. The stock shell is awesomely tough to be fair but it's ugly. Anyone using anything other than stock? Photos would be awesome. Thanks guys. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Yeah I hated how high the Zonda body sat so that's going to be my speed run shell from now on, for general bashing and drifting it will be the Mustang. [emoji3] Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
A few upgrades have gone into it, the brushless system, new servo, linkages, tyres, rx, bell crank bearings and now the body. Some eye candy, and an undressed shot for you all before I beat it ragged [emoji23] . Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
Painted the body, not my finest hour, the paint dried blotchy and the front end is too high even at its lowest setting. I think this will be be my bashing body and I will get another for looking sweet. Note for future, the hpi Zonda shell is not a great fit on this platform. Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
