    Xray T4 2017+

Hi All, Pretty simple ask really, I’m after an Xray T4 from 2017 onwards; I’m after just the rolling chassis (no electrics). Please be prepared to send over some pictures Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi, Up for sale is a highly modified Xray T4 2014 with full race-spec electrics and a Spektrum DX4C transmitter & receiver. I'm selling after putting it all together around a month ago, it's been to my local track only twice, and discovering that I simply haven't got the time on weekends to use it due to family commitments. It's never been raced. The spec is as follows: Xray T4 2014 (with box, cert. of authenticity, extra sway bars and a slightly used but undamaged replacement lower deck (not pictured)) Full Hiro Seiko Titanium Orange screw set. Savox digital, brushless servo (SB2261MG) Hobbywing XERun v3.1 ESC Team Orion 13.5t brushless and sensorless racing spec motor Spektrum DX4C Transmitter & SRS4210 Receiver Xray Orange After-market parts used (where applicable) Xray battery holder Brand new Xray rear gear differential Xray low friction front and rear belts (white) All boxes for the chassis, motor, transmitter, ESC and servo 4mm bullet connectors used on all cables (including motor to allow for the possibility of hot swapping the motor without the need to de-solder) Spec-Racing front steel outdrives Xray ECS ES 52mm drive shafts (front) Xray motor protector The price, including postage and paypal is
  3. Hi All, Just a little bit curious with regards to modified vs stock motors. I've got a Team Orion 13.5t VST2 Pro currently in my T4 '14 and while it's pretty nippy, I can't help thinking that a modified motor would be a lot faster. Is there a big difference between speeds in a 3.5-5.5t motor when compared to a 13.5t motor? Also, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
  4. Hey All, So I've just taken my car to my local track (Crystal Palace Car Club - Running Xray T4 '14, HW EXRun v3.1, Team Orion 13.5t VST2, Team Oraion 7200 100c lipo) for the first time and so far, I love it. There are however a few questions that I started to ask on the drive home as I start to notice a few things whilst going round. The ESC is currently in 'stock' mode, is there a 'faster' mode to program (turbo/blink/etc/what are the differences?)? I have a program card, I just haven't used it yet. Top end speed wasn't amazing, started out running at 30t pinion but changed to a 26t and barely noticed any change (running a 84t spur), is it worth putting a 4.xt motor in the car? How do I know if a lipo is out of charge? I stopped running before running the car down as I wasn't sure how to tell if it was getting low. Since it was my first time, its obvious that I had a few accidents. The car is ok, as to be expected as they weren't head on, just a few rolls coming out of the corners but the shell is pretty much destroyed. All the paint has pretty much flaked off, does anyone know why? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi All, Pretty simple one I think. I just installed a new HW XERUN v3.1 (metallic blue) in my car, went to take it for a test run and noticed that for whatever reason the fan begins spinning at 100% (needless to say its very, very loud). Does anyone know why this is/how to slow it down? Thanks!
  6. FYI the cables, as you know, come pre-soldered on the v3.1 The lipo is just sitting on my desk, it seems to have stopped enlarging. To be fair, it hasn't blown up that much, just enough to notice that it wobbles when place on a flat surface!
  7. You can just about see the small black cap on the cap board, it's cracked. I also just tried to power it on but it won't do, it's definitely buggered.
  8. I see, well I've labeled them all up correctly. Must be the ESC itself perhaps.
  9. What do you mean the power cables are mixed up? Black is negative and red is positive?!
  10. Hi All, So to give a bit of context, I bought a complete new set up (Hobbywing xerun 120a v3.1 ESC, Team Orion 13.5t motor and Team Orion 7200/100c mAH lipo) about two weeks ago to slot nicely into my new xray T4. I haven't even taken it onto a track yet, work and family commitments have kept me from doing so. After fitting a new pair of Xray ECS's tonight I thought I'd just connected the lipo to ensure everything was peachy, (+ just to make sure all was well) when trouble started! After connecting one power lead firmly, I went ahead with the second power connector and for some reason, a giant amount of sparks came out of the banana female socket whilst a rather audible pop (and a lot of smoke) was both heard and witnessed coming out of the Hobbywing power caps. The power leads also became extremely hot. After wondering what the hell just happened and standing in slight shock for 5-10 seconds I started to notice not only the smell but also that the lipo had started to balloon. So I'm wondering, should I ring Modelsport UK tomorrow and ask for a replacement ESC and battery or am I stuffed? Has anyone else experience anything like this?! Thanks!
  11. Hi All, So I'm looking to do a new paint job for my Xray t4 '15 and I want to try something a little more 'professional'. What I'm after is a body effect like these: My question is this, does anyone know of anywhere that I can get the decals used for these types of paintjobs (or are they all manually sprayed?)? Thanks!
  12. Hi All, So to give a bit of context, I've had (much as many of you on here have I assume) a love affair with RC cars, specifically 1/10th on road, since I was a young boy (I had a TA04-R that brought me an endless amount of fun) but its only in the last 3-4 weeks that I've both had the funds and the time to get back into racing. With that being said, I bought an Xray T4 2014, albeit second hand, last week with the intention of studying the electrics a bit more before I took the plunge and bought the required equipment. After surfing the various forums and websites for about a week, I loaded up my basket and placed an order for the following items: Team Orion VST2 13.5 2P Brushless motor Hobbywing XERUN v3.1 Servox SC-1256 servo Spectrum DX4C DSMR transmitter with included receiver. Team Orion 2s 7.4 Carbon Pro 7200mAH 100c LIPO CORE RC UAC50 After fitting everything to my car in excitement and both configuring everything to what I assume to be 'factory' mode and tacking it down to my local track (Crystal Palace Car Club), I've noticed a few things that are potential problems and this is where I need help+advice! Why, after binding, is there a lot of interference between my transmitter and receiver, so much so that the steering veers off sharply sometimes and constant 'twitching' noises can be head as a result of the servo makes adjustments to the natural position? I thought 2.4Ghz systems were supposed to be more reliable than 27Mhz systems of yesteryear? What pinion 'gauge' should I be using with the motor I bought, I bought a selection of pinions but none fit, they are either to small or too large to fit. I'm currently using a crappy Tamiya OEM pinion that is like butter. How do I know when the battery is fully charged after charging? I charged it once until the voltage dropped as advised in the manual, is this a good indication? Does the ESC need to be programmed in order to reach full effectiveness (what is turbo mode?)? As you might imagine all of this is causing a lot of distress and I'm in dire need of some expert advice! Thanks in advance! Orrin
  13. Hi All, First let me just say that I've spent a while looking around this forum and signed up today to find out some much needed information. A little history: I was given a Tamiya TT01 chassis for what I think was my 13-14th birthday around 8-10 years ago and as such the following year I stepped it up a notch by asking for the Tamiya TA04-R chassis. Consequently due to other interests, school, work and University the TA04-R I had was put in a cupboard and had long since been forgotten about until last week when I came across it whilst moving hose. Needless to say, seeing it again immediately re-ignited the enthusiasm I once had for the RC car world and am eager to get back into it. However, I do have a few questions. I'm looking at purchasing a new chassis/car kit and so far I'm leaning towards the Xray T4, a friend of mine bought an Xray all those years ago and I was extremely impressed (and jealous) with how light it was compared to my TA04-R and I'm assuming/hoping what I think to be the newest release from Xray still holds true to this value. Is it a good kit though? Is it worth the money? Are the 'pro' of racing chassis' from Tamiya or any other make any better? Also, out of curiosity what is generally considered to be the best chassis kit on the market right now, regardless of price? I'm also, providing that I do purchase the T4, going to have to buy a new motor, ECU, receiver and steering servo, anybody got any good recommendations? Thanks in advance!! My TA04-R is below
