  1. Thank you. I've a spare shell too which I'm just going to paint single colour and use for practice, I'm particularly interested in getting involved in local racing, so I intend to go along to a local club for some advice on motor + ESC before I spend some money on it.
  2. Just tried to look on the North East Bashers Group but it's private and I ain't on Facebook. Any idea whereabouts the outdoor track in Hartlepool is that is mentioned on the page description? Also how was Wickham thorns with all of the other users, e.g. BMX etc? I'm trying to find somewhere that's relatively quiet, I was thinking of hetton Lyons BMX track, but it's half term this week so probably a no-go
  3. Thought I would post a quick update of the finished article. I bought a cheap ESC and motor to get going but haven't actually ran it yet. Tyres are still to glue too...
  4. Bit of internet digging and came across these, although more expensive than the 2 linked above, the design looks better (to me) and it comes in clear so it can be painted to suit. Maybe it's worth the extra money... I probably should have bought a new one the amount I've ploughed into this.. ha ha http://www.rcbodyshop.fr/index.php/buggy-cross-16.html?SID=ac54ee53ad50da9c1785f62f153334be
  5. It's probably easier just to lay some fiberglass up on the inside of the abs shell to strength it. There's no reason why it won't key to the surface as long as it's roughened up with a 120 grit first
  6. I also just found the karosse one after a bit of online searching, I hadn't seen the beetle one mind. I like the idea of the beetle but I think it will require a lot of cutting with a samba pipe!
  7. Cheers for the reply, yeah I searched all the previous topics and it seems people who used to make replicas don't exist anymore. Guess I'll just stick with the one I have for the moment and see what comes up on eBay in the meantime!
  8. I've recently picked up a tatty FG Marder, whilst it is complete and a good runner, it has clearly been neglected with regard to any TLC, having odd bolts, araldite repairs etc. Most of which I have now sorted. The Bodyshell is useable but again is tatty and I'm not really looking to spend £170 on a genuine new one from KC. I had originally bought a a Baja cage off eBay (the one with the aluminium bars) with the intention of panelling it with wire mesh, I made a start on this, but to be honest it doesn't look very good, hence, I'm now in the market for a decent, reasonably priced body which works well with a samba pipe.. Appreciate any suggestions! P.S. I would put up some pics if I new how to get them to work! Thanks,
  9. Im going to head over possibly a week on Sunday!
  10. I'm not far from you, there's a few little dirt jumps down near seaham I've been to a couple of times. There's great ayton quarry a bit further south and I think hetton park in Houghton has a BMX track that could be worth a visit. I was planning on going along there on Sunday but had other plans unfortunately.
  11. Cheers for both of your help @walkbythesea @Alex97 hopefully it will arrive by the end of the week!

  14. Not overly keen on the rival. Bit too bulky. Just tossing up between the cougar KD and the RC10 🤷‍♀️
