  1. Cheers for that, a friend said to me today that he just got a AA powered plug heater! How is it I said? It's in the bin he said! ive found my Ripmax one from my first nitro RC and that's working fine!
  2. Evening all, i havent run my traxxas jato for about 6 years(crossed to the electric side for a while)and have decided the time is right to run her again! Im looking for a new glow plug heater as my old one dosent want to recharge anymore! I have seen some that dont need charging but take a replaceble battery! Are they any good? Do they last long? Cheers for any help you can give!
  3. The dromida desert buggy looks exactly the same as my boys ripmax coyote but couldnt comment on ther rest of the range!
  4. I ran my stock slash on 2s lipo for a long time before upgrading to brushless and never had any problems!
  5. The LCG chassis is a very good investment and makes the slash really stable(compared to stock). If you break any stock parts then replace them with RPM ones. I ran mine for a long time in its stock form(with 2s lipo) and loved it!
  6. Found my first RC car in my mums loft the other day!
  7. I had a sensorless set up and got a bit annoyed with it cogging so swaped it out for a hobbywing sensored combo and the difference was like night and day! Love the hobbywing set up! i let my 5year old have a go with mine and he pointed it at a half pipe and pulled full trigger!!!! The truck went about 15 feet in the air! i never go out now without his RC car with us as well!

  9. I thought the same about it being made of pvc and as for dodging customs thats just down to pot luck! it bugs me that body shells for other cars or trucks(made by traxxas or pro line) can be picked up for like £20 but as soon as you mention Slash the price shoots up to £30-40. thats why when i saw this one for £24 i considered it. Customs will probably catch me and bump the price up to the normal range!
  10. Spotted these body shells on ebay. They say they fit traxxas slash. Anyone used one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-10-Black-Shell-Body-for-Traxxas-Slash-M0522-M0524-M0280-Short-Course-Truck-/291458877984?hash=item43dc4d8a20:g:lk4AAOSwgkRVTblc
  11. i would go with what nitroholic just said! ive put a Ez run sc8wp 4000kv in my 2wd slash and its great even on 2slipo(pulls wheelies!!!!) so cant wait to get hold of a 3s lipo. When i first upgraded the slash i used a Etronix photon combo as it was in my budget at a local shop, it was good on 2s but is only a 2 pole motor so never had a great deal of punch to it! Go with the Ez run combo and have fun!
  12. took the plunge and ordered from Tower Hobbies. I would prefer to spend my money in England and in local hobby shops but needs must!
  13. Just had a look at j e models and they dont have any proline wheels listed
  14. Hi guys, Im trying to get some proline beadlock rear wheels for my slash but nowhere in the uk seems to have them so im looking to order from abroad. Anyone here ordered stuff from American shops or direct from manfactuers. I know there can be issues with customs charges but it might be the only way to get them.
  15. Nice one guys! Run nitro for a long time so it's taken me a while to get my head around all this battery stuff!
  16. So I've plugged my NIMH into the charger after a run and started the charge and it's reading 7.6 volts straight away! The NIMH is only 7.2! Is this a case of you charge it to a bit higher than rated like a lipo?
  17. Didn't fancy waiting six hours so I've got a lead for my xbase charger but am now confused by charge rates. What amps should I charge at?
  18. So I have finally got some new wheels and tyres for the slash(pro line beed locks and trenchers) and was wondering how you guys fit yours! On my nitro truggy I would tape the inside of the tyre and then once fitted I drilled the middle of the tread in two places(opposite each other) all in an attempt to stop them ballooning. Do SCT tyres need the same treatment? My stock slash tyres don't seem to suffer with ballooning! Cheers Lee
  19. Hi guys, I'm charging a NIMH battery for my boys car but I'm unsure of charge times. It's a 7.2V 1600mah and I'm using a 9v 250mA(output) plug in wall charger. What do you all think? I'm going to get a lead to fit my x base charger but until I do I'm stuck with he wall charger. Thank you,
  20. Very nice! I've got one still that I got brand new back in about 2000. Ran it a lot for about 5 years and really enjoyed it although it kept killing front diffs so I ran it as as rwd only. Now sits in the shed all alone!
  21. Don't think the coyote will be very good on grass as it has a low ground clearance but is great on gravel! I'm sure whatever you get her she will love!
  22. I got a Ripmax Coyote for my boys 5th birthday and he loves it! 4wd drive, driver and passenger figures, spare wheel on the back and LED lights on the roof. Had no problems so far. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ripmax-coyote-1-18th-truggy-ep/rc-car-products/384323
  23. Now I understand! Thanks guys. Great explanation Tamiyacowboy.
  24. Afternoon guys, I'm looking to step up to 3s lipo this weekend and need a bit of advice before heading out to my local rc shop. I currently run a hobbywing ez run wp sc8(120amp) in my 2wd slash. The instructions state that the set up can take up to 4s lipo but dose not give any details on What C rating it can handle. Anyone got some recommendations for what I should go for! Thanks in advance
