I will have to see if I can make it this weekend now, I have my Grandson coming over if the weather is too heavy it wouldn't be fair to drag him out also if you mean the guy in the Wchair then yes that was me talking with Ian, Unfortunately I hadn't dressed warmly enough and it left me extremely cold so sat in the car to watch the truggy run and some of the finals was a lot of fun and brought my wife round a lot she can see why my interest, heh finally the light shineth through As for starter box I was offered a couple one was an SMD V2 Evolution, the Other a Mugen the New Gun Metal Grey one, the main difference is the Mugen was offered to me with a fully equipped race buddy (Haven't bought anything yet though) it also was Lipo set up and came with 2 x 4600 MaH 20-40c Lipos ready to run, though as being a person whose dealt with Electrics a lot I have Roar Approved Lipos up to 7000mah in power and a few others that while not the top brands names, I would use over some that are supposed top as they perform better and far more safely (Almost never an overload etc.) Either way I'd have some to take that have never let me down. Do the Starter Box's come ready to go with Lipo or is that yet again another conversion that needs done? I was looking at several of the Hyper 7's based on as you said cotter and others pure spare part availability no point buying a car if I can't get spares or if it takes 6 weeks each time I want them as I have to import from China, I looked at several TQ Sports and a Pro Sport, the Pro Sport looked good as it had around

Hi all wasn't sure if where I posted the below post was correct so thought I'd make it here and I ported my thread across to give some the insite into what I was chatting and asking questions about, mainly I would love any info you guys could give me on Nitro's and their ownership, upkeep and general advice on make, model, engines etc... "Hi Guys as Stated about I came down on sunday had a bit of fun, but I'm trying to trace some information from peeps, one was one of the people I spoke to while down at the race I believe he was the "Club Secretary", Also was looking for some info from general knowledgeable and friendly peeps about some bits and bobs. 1:) To use those electronic started box's I saw you all walking around with your buggy / truggys hooked up is anything special required apart from box and car and obviously fuel. 2) I'm ready through eBay and finding locating a car to be a truly momentous and confusing task since I am Clueless as to what is needed beyond Nitro / Petrol (Is there a marked difference here or is it simply what some people call the nitro fuel compounds? 3) I see a lot of cars come with pull strings, something called easy starters, a drill starter rig (which looks like it would wear out as many bits as it would start cars) and the box you guys use just wondering do all cars have the ability to use these. 4) Also finally I've been looking at a lot of truggies/buggies and can't seem to find any real difference that cant be copied from one to the other is there for instance a reason to use HPI over hobao, or a Hyper 7 Black Edition over a Hyper 7 Pro 7.5, or over a Hyper 8 or 9. Thanks for having me and the mrs on sunday was interesting if not a tad cold and wet Trying to get hold of a buggy just now something not to expensive but not to cheap to we shall see. Unfortunately the only 1/8th I have is an "OFNA Hong Nor DM1" but its set up as Electric I have all the parts except a decent racing shell and the Timer System, but it seems your racing truggies and buggies & this is a Flat Racer to my Knowledge though you might have more of an idea than me. But as you can see its neither truggy nor buggy so I'll be looking to buy a decent set up for myself to do this kind of thing so not sure if its worth my While to come down and see this in the morning or go on it next week and try and get some more advice on what to buy for next time, I might not have raced before but that don't mean I want tto lose for not having a decent set up hehe Also seems to be a big difference between each buggy and truggy more than just motor / esc / controller this is all stuff I'd love to learn. I have tools a Plenty and would happily pay anyone for their time teaching me some basic things i need to learn like various soldering techniques, I seem to be all thumbs so end up paying for it but would love to actually be able to do it myself as I have several batteries with the wrong heads on them, other items need heads or connectors changed I have a couple of cheap ones with me, or rather portable ones not cheap ones necessarily. yea had looked into Falkirk RC Club and East Kilbride but East Kilbride require you to have some sort of timing device even just to come down to say hi and try out the club for friendliness and the Likes. I take it you said 1 /18th or was it meant to be 1 / 8 th. Atm I have just sold one of my Ultimates and have two other slash's left but they aren't in racing condition. I Just bought a DM1 from one of the Admins here BEZ its 1/8 - 1/7th 100+ MPH I believe and the only other I have left is a Rustler custom but I haven't decided what to put in it power source and esc wise I have a brand new Unused Velineon set, also have a small castle set, so not sure what would be the type of car to bring If I were to come down though I was looking at a few 1/18 brushless buggies but not really knowing what peeps have and race has always been the hardest part of trying to come down and meet peeps. I'm guessing Lesmahagow would be find but its trying to work out what to bring or are there models to test out down there, spares that peeps bring that would allow me a PoV on the sport. As to getting hold of a new Nitro or Petrol, this isn't an issue that would stop me, just my Mrs might think I'm nuts since I sold my gear 2 years or so ago. But if it kept me occupied and, most important, was fun then getting hold of them wouldn't be an issue. The EK club seemed to me to be putting the horse before the cart requiring a special timing device from you before you even know if your going to enjoy the sport hehe. So yea Lesmahagow I doubt is more than about 30 min away and if its an interesting event / venew & if I find the cars / w/e Interesting then Acquiring one or more I'd guess wouldn't be an issue I'd Like to see my new racer given its paces but i think I would need a considerably large track. But that can be sorted at a later date So yea if anyone wants to give me more info about the Lesmahagow venew, Post Code Tom Tom Presets etc also any other Info or for the East Kilbride one if they have changed the requirement that I'd have to buy an expensive timer before even coming to try the club and car types out then yea I'd be very Interested. As an Aside I have access to the scout halls and grounds at cardonald in glasgow, It's more about my daughter and son in law that have the access and theres the possibility for a nominal fee of setting up a club there a few times a month for very little financially. This could be for a new club if people felt one was needed or maybe as a central neutral meeting ground for a club meet or leagues etc now and again alowing maybe for a more centralised venew for the clubs and no home field advantage But this is always something that could be looked at once I actually decide where and what I'd like to go and race. But yea if you have any info, My partner would probably like to come along and take part as well she leaves the engineering to me and does the more enjoyable part, but since we are yet to find a club shes only seen me messing around bashing with my summit and E-Revo's before I sold them. Also if you have peeps who travel from near myself to your clubs if were going we can offer transport etc. But lets get the Horse before the cart and not be running backwards, if you could give me an idea of what your 1/18 racing models are, buggies, racers, offroaders, shueys, Losi's etc etc Cheers all and thanks for the messages. Central Glasgow but can Travel.

I'm looking for somewhere to go on a semi permanent basis, for runs, races, advice and builds etc, just bought a DM1 that I'm going to be rebuilding and have Slash/Rustlers from traxxas and have been looking at some of the buggies going round but I prefer Leccy as Nitro and Petrol are too much of a Pain, what with constant retuning, crank starting even when you have drill quickstarts. Unless a lot has changed in the 6 or 7 years since I stopped. But on a serious note want a club if one is going can travel at weekends and sometimes during the week depending on how far and what time start and finish are. I'm in central Glasgow I do some of my own gear and am doing some new air brushing and light blasting but would love to actually do some racing and/or bashing depending on what your racing etc. Cheers -S- & -N-

You got any that would go with my Vxl Rustler, 2wd Slash, E-maxx and my 1/16 summit and 1/16 slash? Also do you ever read your E-Bay mails? Was asking was that white Slash still for sale if so I could buy it this friday or on Tuesday if the price is still around the same and you still have it?
