  1. i see it everyday mate, first hand. i have zero confidence at the moment, i often see the 'security team' get given quota sheets for a shift, '' tonight guys, you need to stop lets say 200 cars'', the 1st 200 cars will get stopped, the rest off the shift cars just get waved on through, free to go wherever they want!
  2. a few days i can deal with, i work away from home alot, for a week or more at a time, i just dont want a letter sitting unanswered, knowing the luck im having it will be sent back lol.
  3. i know what you mean, i deal with customs alot due to my job, both uk and french, its scary the stuff they let cross the border on a daily basis in europe, yet an rc car is held for days / weeks!.
  4. thats what im expecting to happen to be honest, how long did the letter take to arrive once your goods hit the uk?, just want to try and speed up the process really if possible, but if im resigned to waiting for a letter, then i guess i will just have to wait :-( lol.
  5. ive recently purchased an rc from tower hobbies. Service from their end was fantastic, ordered at the weekend, shipped monday via usps and its, according to usps tracking, in the uk already. Now its in the hands of parcelforce, waiting customs clearance i guess? ive never had an issue using them for uk domestic parcels, but, ive never had any experience with them handling an imported package either. i've imported an rc car before from America, but the courier was ups, i got the parcel within 4 - 5 days, the delivery guy knocked on my door, gave me a customs invoice, and said he couldnt only release the parcel once i had paid the fees, it was sorted within minutes and he gave me my package, i assumed ups had paid the fees on my behalf, and obviously would only let me have my goods once i had paid them back, which is fair enough. Now im not sure how parcelforce opperate, OHO said i could ring them with a tracking number and pay the fees over the phone to speed up delivery, which isnt a problem, just wondering if anyone has direct experience of parcelforce and their customs / clearence procedures. **edit** usps tracking shows it arrived in the uk @ 07:11 this morning, not sure if this is GMT timezone, parcelforce tracking still shows it sat in chicago, so probably no good ringing them up at this point?
  6. cracking gaming chip the i5 4690k, had mine running at 4.7ghz for 18 months under a watercooler, absolutely no issues at all, still a competitive chip compared to todays offerings, if you just want to game, no need for anything over 4 cores for gaming really. if time is money, and you render videos and compile data, and your progams make use of multicore and hyper threading, then an i7 of some sort will provide a gain. ive been an amatuer 'overclocker' for nearly 2 decades, god im old lol, i've never bought into the argument of overclocking will ruin your chip, keep to the limits of heat and voltage on your chip and power supply, and you will be fine, truth be told, the chip will be long outdated and you will want to upgrade anyway before overclocking degrades it.
  7. jesus, building a 'scaler' is more expensive than running a 1/5th, im like a kid in an expensive sweet shop!

don't even go there with scale RC's you pay more for bits and bobs than what you payed for the RC itself that's one reason why I want to stop getting scale RC's but I can't

Can't argue with you there RC. Dreading the costs of turning my (soon to be purchased) Boyer into a comp rig.

  8. Bump, description updated
  9. as above, i know they can be had off ebay for under 30 quid, but just seeing if anyone has one they would consider selling, i just need the tx unit, already have some flysky rx's. ** update** Or if anyone has a cheapish tx with compatible rx's lying around, doesnt have to be amazing, just functional to get my crawler build moving. cheers,
  10. bought a daystate airwolf recently after wanting one for years, not bad results shooting off a bipod at a ranged 40 meters, its a .177 using 4.52 jsb exacts
  11. budget isnt set in stone, got the funds for the right car, as for the wraith or scx10, a nice example of either would sway my decision.
  12. as above, looking for a scaler or a crawler, not really sure what im after exactly, so let me know what you have. something like a nice wraith, scx10, vaterra ascender, would prefer to stick to the mainstream models please. cheers
  13. i mostly play pc these days. i have an xbone and ps4. im playing the division on xbone with my mates, but you you cant beat the pc for indie games, played a few hours of the culling, and picked up a bargain on steam called dino-d-day, cost a whole 69 pence, and its and absolute riot, personally enjoy it more than any of the main stream offerings.
  14. having a clear out and found these bits, no longer needed as ive sold the baja, looking to clear £10, so £14 all in including recorded delivery.
  15. spent 8 hours on the thames yesterday renewing my 'fast rescue boat ticket', on the plus side it was next door to the metropolitan police anti terrorism training centre, spent hours watching them storm mocked up city streets and banks using helicopters and armoured vehicles, most of them looked like they knew what they were doing, they must get sacked after the pass :-/

  16. hi guys selling my gtx970 graphics card, its in excellent condition, comes all boxed and ready to go, i have used this card for about a year and its been excellent, ive recently had the opportunity to upgrade so this is no longer needed. They still retail at £270, so im asking £190, fees and delivery included in the price.
  17. looking for the above parts, in good condition please, cheers
  18. if it was me, i would order both, and hope to sell the unused stock shell for a bit of a bonus.
  19. surely its worth ordering both and selling the new stock shell, unless a bit of discount is included?
  20. ive just signed up to a beta trial of tom clancys 'the division', it promises lots, but ive always been let down by games recently. im mostly a pc gamer now as steam has some great indie games that would never make it to release on console, although i do still have an xbone and ps4. Rainbow 6 siege is more of a pc game i feel, i think its ubisoft trying to have a crack at the competitive fps market and try and muscle in on cs:go, its actually a popular game on pc at the moment.
  21. Morning Thinning out my rc collection, this was another truck i bought back in the summer for my boys from bigjim of this forum, its a cracking car, and i enjoyed it, but ultimately, my boys have lost all interest, and its been sat in its box after we used it a few times back in the summer its in great condition, few marks and scuffs as to be expected, but functions perfectly as it should. comes with its original box, un opened bag of spare plasics, drivers helmets and course markers. i also sourced a new shell for the truck should the inevitable happen and the original got damaged, but this was never needed or used as it was used a few times on a indoor course around the house, and once or twice outside on grass in the summer. i also have a 5000mah 2s lipo that i will chuck in making it ready to run, admittedly its not the best, but was used only in this truck so i will include it as i no longer have use for it. £180 all in Any questions please ask :-) Cheers, Andy
