I'm in need of some inspiration and need to decide what route to take :-)

I thought I'd have more interest that that, something I said?

So if the missus doesn't kill me first I've purchased another rc4wd land rover Defender 90 body which I want to right the wrongs on my previous /current body. My last body I was sure I wanted to make a van body and do away with the windows, part of me still does however one of my biggest regrets with my last one was the windows, I forgot to do the black window seals before installing, the glue I used showed through so I sprayed from inside to create a tinted look which im happy I managed to rescue them to a point but this time I'm happy to learn from my mistake and attempt the windows again. I decided to build a cheap LED loom which was OK but short lived, I hopefully have a decent lighting unit coming for this one and have noticed that you can purchase led buckets for the Defender now so considering that option, had anyone dealt with them? Im not sure what route to take now, I don't want to change my current Defender style wheels so the colour scheme has to work with them and possibly stainless cheque plate as I purchased a couple of sheets previous which I painted black on my current body but don't want to go down that route this time so will leave the cheque plate shiny. The previous body cost me around £50 in paint as I really wanted to use Volkswagen Mendoza brown so I don't want to spend as much on paint this time but I'm pretty sure I want to go metallic. Im not sure if I want to go Kahn route, Modern updated look with a puma bonnet which I've seen for £60 so may give that a miss, County style or a off road hog which usually means expensive add ons, cages and scale accessories etc? Any input would be great thanks. First picture is my current body, the white one is a favourite at the moment to Base my next build on.

Some advice needed please, after bursting one of my proline scaler shocks I purchased a set of losing comp crawler shocks off a guy on here, I've just fitted them and they have increased the ride height quite a bit, I'm not too fussed as it maybe more usable however the appearance isn't great. Im considering putting some 1.9's back on instead of my 1.55's what do you think? Is there a lowering spring available or can you cut down the springs?

RC4WD fan's G2 D90 pickup/trail truck

I see the body is on eBay :-) what's next? You love doing these builds don't you. I'm toying with the idea of another body, so many things I'd do different this time, I just don't know what route I'd choose to take from hardcore off roader or a nice Road rover :-S I was looking around on eBay the other day and can't believe how much is available for the Defender shells now, even saw a Axial scx 10 complete chassis specifically designed for the Rc4wd land rover body, wish is seen that as it's much neater mounting than my current setup. -

Can't wait to see the results of this, how come you never decided to build the Gelande with the 90 body? -

Pm on way. -
So after using my Axial scx 10 Defender replica today and my Proline shockers failed meaning I'm going to have to purchase some more. What do people suggest? Not wanting to spend a fortune as every time I use it it costs me money :-)

HPI Savage 21 with Pontiac GTO body now sold.
gti power replied to gti power's topic in For RC Sales
Sold please close. -
I'm considering purchasing a electric Road chassis to build a fairly quick basher to use for fun at local industrial estate's etc. Whats my options? thanks.
-
Can you recommend a good touring car chassis? This is the main reason I haven't bothered with a touring car chassis or f1 style as I'd only mess around with it at local industrial estate's etc and as you say they need a good surface.

Is the leopard combo still available with this? Im still tempted, just sold a Tamiya cc-01 and currently have one of my nitro's up for sale if that shifts i maybe tempted even though i really shouldn't .

Selling my Hpi Nitro Savage 21 due to having too many boys toys. This is the better of two Hpi savage's I have so decided to sell the better condition one as I use my other one for bashing. It's a Hpi Savage 21 full spec can be found here http://hpiracing.world/en/kit/831. It requires batteries for the Tx and Rx, fuel and a glow start however it can be seen running if you wished to collect as I have the few remaining items needed to make it run for my other Savage. It runs well and was recently tuned although a new glow plug wouldn't go a miss, it doesn't start first pull but does go with a little perseverance and starts perfect once warmed up. Included is the Hpi Pontiac Gto body which has never been run on the chassis only ever for show but has been sealed with nitro block to help prevent paint deterioration if used on the Rc (it's not by any means perfect, I just know that it won't last long out the savage when in use). I do have the original box for the Rc but it's not the best of conditions due to being left in my shed. I also have a new unfitted reverse gear module which isn't included but my end up being listed in my other items along with many other rc's I may have to part with. Collection/viewing is welcome however returns are not due to the nature of the hobby, any questions please contact me. Advertising elsewhere so can be removed at any time. £130 posted within the UK.

I did Yeah I always lube up :-) I don't like the idea of the treaded end being pushed through the seals. -

Hi thanks for the reply, yes I've only built one as I'm not happy with it. The shaft is true and I'd say the o rings are to thick imo. I haven't got any green slime unfortunately... I haven't tried it since but I'm considering vasaline when building the next one?
