According to them new FCC regulations required them to amend the DX4C which rendered it unable to use the DSM system anymore leaving it DSM2/DSMR. The amended model has a different model number. Original SPM4200 and the latter being the SPM4200W, despite this change it does not clearly state anywhere that this happened and the current spec for the DX4C on the spektrum website shows the spec of the original and no longer offered SPM4200

BSD cars are cheap crud from my experience wouldn't recommend them at all. Although somebody may have had a good experience with them I would stick with your firestorm mate. Chuck some lipo and some brushless in it and enjoy it!

It's v2.1 but on spektrum website it says compatible so if it isnt they are lying...

Reset meaning the reset option in the menu? If so I have tried that already with no success.

UPDATE: Just tried both receivers with a DX3S and both bind with no issue at all and function as they should. I really wish I didn't buy this transmitter now and opted for the DX4S instead as people seem to be having positive results with those.

I have literally just sold the DX3C which both were binding to just fine and worked previously before attempting to bind them to the new one. I do have another tx to try and I will do it now to see what happens. I bought it with the intention of using my older receivers too since the spektrum website clearly says compatible with DSM DSM2 and DSMR which is surely false advertisement on their part. Surely this is not a move they are going to make just to just to stop the orange rx stuff...

I have recently bought a DX4C and all is well with the supplied SR410 DSMR receiver. I have also got an SR200 in my mardave and an SR300 in my baja neither of which want to bind with the new transmitter. I know that the DX4C is DSMR and should be backward compatible with both DSM/DSM2 although when attempting to bind with the SR300 or SR200 the mode on the binding screen shows DSM2 and 16.5ms when I click bind the flickering light on the rx goes out rather than showing solid green so something must be happening but at the same time something is not right either. I can take pictures if it will help my poorly written explanation!
