  4. Yep thought of doing that with a tt01. Thanks for the help though

  7. Fair enough. I wouldn't like to be doing a 300 mile round trip . Its a shame that there aren't more clubs spread across the country
  8. Yep Bob's still racing there. Not sure about the Allens. When did you used to race there
  9. Can I ask you a question if you dont mind . What made you stop doing Oval?
  10. Ahh ok. Atm the clubs are Adur (Shoreham/0, Hasting, Leister, Eastrax (Cambridgeshire) and a few that I probably missed out
  11. Yep still running. Running at notts and derby and Adur. Chessington lost there track and I'm not sure about moat farm. Those who find it boring should try. This was taken from another forum: 'short oval brings up a completely different and difficult challenge, it isn't just about turning right or left (depending what you are racing) it's about over taking other cars on tracks so small there isn't all that much space to do it, unlike on off road and on road circuits'
  12. Hi, Sorry for the late reply. Depending on where you are in London will depend on your nearest club. It will either be Hastings, Adur (shoreham) where I race or eastrax (Cambridgeshire) Sorry that theres not one near London. One of the problems is the lack of clubs. This website may be of help to you http://8thstockcarsandhotrods.weebly.com/
  13. Ok thanks for all your replies. Got another question. Is there any rear wheel drive cheap(ish) 1/10 on road chassis thats available as the turnigy doesn't seem a viable option
  14. Ok thanks for all your replies. Got another question. Is there any rear wheel drive cheap(ish) 1/10 on road chassis thats available as the turnigy doesn't seem a viable option
  15. Thanks for that, what mods?
  16. Thanks for that, but are the wheels 12mm hex, in which case their are suppliers in the UK that 12 hex foams 26/30 width can be obtained from from http://www.modelsport.co.uk/contact-rc-tyres-foam-tyres;-1-10-l26-32sh-jap/rc-car-products/40079
  17. Good input, would hope that standard 1/10 foams 26/30mm with 12mm hex will fit. Thanks for your feedback
  18. Hi Guys, Thanks you everybody for your feedback so far. A new question, of those who do not find oval boring, would any of you consider a 1/10 electric Hotrod non contact class. It will be based on this car http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ssis_KIT_.html . The price of a kit is around
  19. Different things for everyone, I much prefer racing my oval car to my touring car, but my son prefers circuit. Just dont knock it until you've tried it
  20. Yes that is many people assumption, but after you've tried it you might not agree. 6 cars on a 5 second lap is equivalent to 24 cars on a 20 second lap, and these are 1/8ths. Also on circuit you have a nice bit of grass to run of on and run back on, curbs if you turn in too early, good brakes incase anythings goes wrong, and ofcourse cars spaced out more on a track.
  21. 4 1/8 Circuit Wheels and Tyres. All in good used condition, with one of the rears with a slight chunk missing, but all still fully useable. Came to me as part of a joblot so don't know anymore about them.
  22. Yes alot are homemade (adds to the fun of it) This guy makes the cars http://www.mmrd.co.uk/ R/R 1/8th HotRod assembled Kit With Engine and Radio Gear Complete 1/8th Hot Rod, with engine and radio gear Includes, Chassis, front and rear assemblies (fitted) wheels and tyres, radio box, Body supports, Body Shell of your choose (uncut and unpainted) and Front Bumper, Radio Gear, Engine, Engine Mount, Clutch and Silencer. Note: price includes body shell (not shown)
  23. They're great, why dont you give them another go
  24. Please dont say its easy etc. until you've tried it Radio controlled model Hot Rods and Stock Cars are based on the full sized cars, they are powered by a 3.5cc glow engine (nitro). Due to there light yet strong design they are capable of reaching speeds of 40 mph. There are several body shells available both classic and modern. Stock cars were the second form of rc car racing to evolve after the initial circuit cars. These cars wre originally designed as a small copy of the full size f1 item. This class will teach you the merits of overtaking people who do not want to be passed! They are power by modern design 3.5cc glow fuel engines, which give scintillating performance allied to low running costs. The tracks are oval in shape as per the full sized item, and racing follows the full sized rules as closely as possible, with contact allowed. 1/8 stockcars are both exiting and affordable, a sport where everyone can be competitive. Hotrods are a newer class. Still powered by the same engines as the stockcars, this non-contact class provides close racing. With no contact the class provides close racing, while the aerodynamic designs and lightness of the chassis provide amazing lap times. MMRD www.mmrd.co.uk is the largest manufacturer of the cars. Come down and join in the fun at the Oval track. http://www.adurrc.org/index.php/oval http://www.facebook.com/groups/476904915664370/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1410645439163146/ If you would like anymore info message the fb pages or pm me
