Im in Bolton to boys, live in Great Lever and just got a traxxas xo1 so not the best to take on moses gate but im lucky to have an industrial site next to me with a long road and a good size tarmac car park, i may get a truck to bash with in the future but just getting back into it at the moment- good to know there are other people in bolton who like rc

I spoke to my local model shop and they are going to order one for me when im ready to do so and they are doingbit at the same price as everyone else unless i find it cheaper they will price match. Cheers dave i may take u up on that one day and i think im just going to practise on a wheel radio as it saves time, money and hassel. You got a good point mate as you get 2 cars for 1. I am still going to get an XO but im defo going to build a car as a project at the moment im also thinking about which lipos to get as initially im prob not going to take it past 50 or 60mph for a while any recommendations on the best brands or cheapest prices? One thing i was worried about was the XO comes with a different rc controller then what ive always used. Im used to the old school stick systems and im sure you can change to one however i know the Xo controller actually holds and connects to an ipod or iphone to give you a live dashboard any ideas how i could get round this or should i just get used to the controller it comes with as im sure i would be able to however i still prefer stick control

Dave- ive got no cars left anymore as i got ridof them a few years ago but used to own a tamiya fighter buggy and a hpi savage truck. Since then ive been into drones and currently ive got a mini drone and a parrot AR which i love. I think after looking at peoples advice im probably still going to go for an XO but then im going to also build a buggy or truck to bash about with. Im going to use the XO to use on meets and test it on airfields and events, some of the case mods look amazing that ive seen and theres alot of 3rd party parts being made that you can upgrade with if you want. Not going to buy them yet going to do around christmas

It does look like that way to me to mate they are a good company they just need to stop thinking they are untouchable - i think the XO is way overpriced however there is still a market for it i.e me but that funny car was a joke. And TmaxxDave i live in great lever near town centre pal

Thanks i hate you Tamiyacowboy you have made me think about it again lol but tbf you do have a point and i prob would love to build one i may even do both, the reason being i just made abit of cash selling some things i had in the house which i have actually never paid for in the first place so was thinking of blowing it on an XO but now i may even build a car- you can actually build an XO to from scratch i think ????

Taken on board everything thats been said so thanks everyone for the advice ive decided im going to get an XO. But im going to use this as a means to go to meetups and maybe some airfields to use the full power i know without unlocking the 100mph feature it can hit 80mph which im sure will be more then enough - Now to get the cheapest price anybody got any advice on the best places to buy from? Yeah your right there is not much places in bolton lol however there is a public road behind my house but is more like a back road to businesses and its pretty much dead all the time and is totally empty on a sunday its about 6-700 metres long so i can use that but prob no other place to use. I will consider coming down to bury it sounds good dont know if i will be any good at racing now but always up for it, might pop in to bolton model mart and see what they have

Well i have been looking into futher and trying to decide between the XO and Kyosho and then trying to find the best price for them but i think your right sean the XO is really the fastest out there but i think with the kyosho you can also get the benefit of being able to upgrade

Thanks for the replies guys, i was considering a traxxas slash as it would also be great off road and in Bolton ( next to Manchester) theres alot more off road space. I will look into your recommendations fatboyniel, they all look good however theres still something that keeps drawing me to the XO even though as you said there are negatives to it and there is better out there. I dont want to spend alot of money on one before trying one which is a bummer. P.s the XO price is crazy cant believe im looking to spend that haha

Hi, i am looking to get back into rc cars as i used to love to build and race them a few years ago, i then stopped all together and started playing around with drone like the parrot. However i want to get an electric car thats really fast or can be upgraded to go faster and more then likely something on road. I have been looking at the traxxas xo1 which obviously is very fast and expensive but has anybody actually tried or used one? And is it worth it? I may even ask around a few local model shops to see if they any in store to test. Thanks

Hi does anyone know if the latest models of the vorza have been updated to have waterproofing? Eg on the servo box and receiver box? I have tried looking around on the net but found nothing

Thanks for the further replies after looking at your advise im defo going to buy a buggy or truggy next year but after going into my local model shop i came across an old friend who worked there and after talking to him about my options i decided im going to get the HPI Savage X 4.6 GT-3 its a nitro and i went with nitro as i have never had a nitro car and i like the sound of being able to tune and work on the car and engine and the good news is that hpi do a conversion kit to flux for it that gives me the option of upgrading in the future:) its this one http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/117679/

Hi thanks everyone for all the replys and advice its good to know theres ppl out there still helping others sorry i didnt mention that the land is rough it does have alot of flat areas although they are still rough. So im focusing on getting a 4wd as its my first car after a long time and maybe something good for beginners and with your advise buy a buggy next year im also swaying towards a 4wd monster truck as i think they look awesome so thats why i initially looked at the hpi bullet snd savages and also because i could get parts for them easy as i will be bashing it around. I know its going against advise but i really do like the bullet but if snyone can show me other options i would be grateful. Thanks
