  1. I've used only 2 types of oils MX5 and motul 800, when rebuilds are due I now go off time the engines been run. I've run my engines for up to 30 hrs with no leaking oil seals and bearing that are perfectly fine, and most important a ring that only half worn this was on MX5 oil half worn ring 0.24 so just a tad under half worn. I switched oils to ML800 when I replaced the head and fresh rebuild I upgraded to a 30.5 from 29.5 and was shocked at the condition of my ring and bearings, although the seals was fine I only use Vitron seals. On this ML800 my ring was almost worn out .43 if I recall and my team fast Eddie ceramics was shot IE no good, all in a shocking time of just 19 hrs and based off my own personal info I no the MX5 will do many more than 40hrs before a ring is due a change, estimated at 60 hrs VS ML800 at 19hrs. 2. It takes longer to do but that's just waiting for the glue to go off, and needed the dremel to cut the mesh. But outwears get holes in very easy and in no time at all, meaning to replace your crank case outwears it another
  3. Thought I'd do this a little better only under the carb though, got rid of the crappy looking outwears I used and now fully steel mesh all round. Also the engine can come out without any issue, the other meat under the carb was shoe glued in place and needed ripped out to remove the engine. Now the only places it's glue is rear mesh to fan case tinny bit top and bottom, and front mesh under carb is glue to the EAC case tiny bit at the top. You do get the odd blade of grass in but clearly a blade or 2 does nothing to effect cooling, and after a week or so it just crumbles up and gets suck in and out Easy cheap mod that cost
  4. I'm in bits mate in bits It's just resting there thinking come on come on bolt me in All in good time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Bull dogs should be fine done over 60 on erm before failing that I will sell on all the tyres I have and fit vipers Time will tell and very soon anall got plenty of tyres to go at for now, might even fully glue the MXT's on so they stop on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Just a little correction mate you'll have vids of 2 reeds 30.5 and 32 mines gunna be long gone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yep a stabbed rat lol mines the sort that plays dead straight to its back proper pees me off sometimes it does, no shock oil in my NSR and none in my OSF lol Will sort this out later on and will have another play with settings on mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The Teflon gasket that goes from engine the block is wrong from Freeprawn the pulse hole don't line up, but the other is fine. All I did was make a new hole and slot it using a stock gasket has reference. I just wanted to order from one place, cos no in my luck the gasket would have come but no carb lol. Easy to do but be warned its only plastic so if you get the wrong one on purpose then be steady with it, it's only the second time I used that gasket anyway I use the block to carb one in Teflon and normally stock or DDM HD on the other and this time used some blue But you can see them squish with each little nip so don't go daft on erm, all been well it don't come lose like last time but you do get a warning air leak warning. 9. This is the state of an older gasket and new one. The grinding of the block make sure you only remove the outa edge, and deff leave the raised lip around centre and pulse slot. Got mi 813 and gaskets but switched gearing last night to 20/54 so will test the carb on the 18/56 at a later date, will keep informed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The only thing I found with phones was the lack of speed it's would take a while for it to catch up, but so kind had your going flat out full chat flat out for a good 4 5 seconds it should be Ok. Got from Freeprawn and mailed asking for today's postage, so fingers crossed I get erm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You'll get a proper verdict Gary one that don't go off looks or sound GPS and TTO readings is what I need. Got the max possible speed and revs I can on the 1107, a carb I thinks better than a 990 anyway but after rebuilding it i dropped the dam thing and bent the low speed needle like a banana, straightens it back but the low end was never right from then The 813 carbs has you say don't like to much on off throttle, floods erm and bogs them down luckily my style is flat out turn flatout and plenty in the 100MPH club use that 813 but also plenty of bashers to. Just ordered carb and new Teflon gaskets I hate leaks there a right pita easy fixed just a pita, be next week can't see these coming for Saturday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It's all I needed to here Gary it's a carb I've never tested but one will be bought, was going to be today but been out all day so will now be in the morning glad your happy nothing like having that perfect set up and all running and working just the way it should Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Don't put that much sealant on that you cover the pulse hole up You shouldn't be having leak issues with new gaskets on an alloy block, any block for that matter but don't swing on erm that much you thread the head I swear by DDM's HD gaskets can be used twice possible to get 3 times out of erm if your lucky apart from exhaust always found fit the header and forget VRC side pipe if I remove this then leaks appear so never remove now unless needed, and that's only when I changed from 29.5 to 30.5 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yep but also the teflon gaskets also warp and deform with heat so can maybe can be used twice 3 times max then replace, also don't over tighten them. The first Teflon I used when I got the alloy block I tightened it up but not enough and the block came lose, so tightened it up and up and up, a little to much and needed replacing after such a short time n That's when I ground down the block and used stock gaskets, now gone back to the Teflon on and nipped it up good but not overly tight and seems to be now working well. I never had a problem with stock Zen blocks until I had one crack after just over 2 years, but had seen many engine rebuilds/carb/block removals and cracked in the end never warped though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes those alloy blocks have a recess so only the right Teflon gaskets fit, I've got the same one and ground the recess off so any gaskets can fit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I no you did mate I've seen yours on erm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Erm vipers or a new carb? They sure do grip well but deff look daft on my Baja been a SC they just look to small but deff best tyre for grip and I've tried quite a few in my time. Only got 18 KK in each MXT and the vipers gripped better, but BUT I can tailer my grip Prob try some later on a carbs more important, I have plenty of tyres at the MO and all been well Mark brings out some 5T/SC sized tyres soon. But for anybody running on grass and in 5B form these sure are the best I've seen for pure grip, and when worn out would make a perfect slick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If you have no luck then these can be bought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Yep the bloke that did it for you thumbs up to the dude, did it to help you out has a one off and at a very good price. Saved you a shed load of money on the next option another head or an OTT price one from DDM and the bloke is retired to. If you ain't already give the bloke a quick email Steve, I'm sure he'd like to no your up and running again. All been well the rain keeps away 2 phone apps both state rain one for a few HR in the morn the other pretty much all day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. I see it too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The only reason I bought has said from the off I was going through stockers like they was going out of fashion, never fouled any plugs be it stock or iridium and had this one in for must be a year now. I've run 2 engines in on it in stock carb settings 1 990 and the other and still using 1107, has said before must have had a bad batch but used a few diff types and ranging in price. So at
  25. Hope that plug serves you well mate mine sure did and still going strong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
