Will prob use a fully synth 2stroke oil so any recomendations and advice for its first ever use as ive never had or seen one filled up and started so dont wanna kill it first time !
  2. Ged , i have been watching used hpi bajas and they fetch silly money used . I havent seen one go for less then
  3. Cheers carl that what i was hoping to hear ! I phoned rcmodelz and the 002tx with deliv and killswitch comes out at
  4. Thanks will keep an eye on the bay ! Silly question but can you put a limit on the engines rpm via the handcontroller to avoid over revving and killing the engine ?
  5. Just watching a few on the bay and there are a couple of fg bajas one 4wd and one 2wd . These any good as not heard of them before ? Better then the km ?
  6. http://www.rcmodelz.co.uk/product/King-Motor-002-tx-29cc-Baja-Buggy.php was thinking of the above for 409 ? not sure what the difference is between the 002tx and 002ss for the extra 20notes apart from carbon bits ? is the 002tx worth the extra 60notes over the 001 ?
  7. Hi everyone ive just registered and said hi in new members area . Now im sorry if this has been asked many many times but im in a pickle as to which to go for or the best route to start in the large petrol rc models . Right as funds are not much at the moment and as much as i would love an hpi baja i just cannot afford it at a start of 700notes ! im also wary of going the secondhand route as in history etc and as someone already stated on here if you get secondhand you will have some worn out parts and money will need to be spent ? I have researched on forums and you tube and i like the look and price of these (please dont laugh) - a aowei yama 26cc 2wd buggy at a cost of 300 , an ftx punisher plus 28cc 4wd at a cost of 520 but this is a real push and cant really go that much but may be able to !! and last of all a km baja 001 for 349 or the 002 for 410 from rcmodelz / Ive read good and bad about all of these and that the servos on the punisher are bad and will need upgrading so that would be more cost which is then heading towards hpi baja money if you get my point so i sort of ruled that one out . yes i know the yamas are cheap but they cant be that bad for 300 notes ? im just going to be using my rc car for local park and car park bashing not racing on tracks or doing big jumps etc !! Now is it worth spending the extra 100 over the jama and get a km baja or an extra 230 to get the punisher ? im guessing everyone is gonna say km baja as good parts back up and upgrades but there are now also parts available for the yamas too ? Ive been watching 2nd hand hpi bajas on ebay and there fetching 400+ and i dont know there history etc . Any avice would be good , oh and also i classed myself as an oldie (38) as im sure this is a younger gen hobbie lol . Im a vehicle technician of 23yrs now so can fix and have a massive box of tools ready for my rc car and im very happy to answer or help any of you guys if you have any car issues or troubles or need help advice etc cheers
