  1. Good move on the light bar... i have a fastrax roof rack with the light pods and after 1 rollover the light bar was hanging off... replaced it with a LED bar from RC-Bitz. By design the fastrax item has weak welds so its easy to remove if you dont want the lights, seems daft that they dont offer one with or without ! Digging the tow shackles as well, they look very tidy.
  2. Those bearings should just about hold up Nice little delivery you got there too... typical that you installed the new locker just before the HD gears turned up !
  3. Nice build... those RC4WD wheels would look cool painted black or blue to tie in with the body... i'm running 1.9 rock beasts on my SCX10 and love them... as you said, they seem to find traction on any surface. Re cleaning... i prefer to leave my truck after a run to let the dirt / mug dry then brush it off with a medium soft brush / old tooth brush. Works for me, just have to make sure the bearings etc are ok and maintained.
  4. You need to confirm the wheelbase of the Rubicon first... AFAIK most if not all of the resellers do link packs for the Honcho (longer) or Dingo (shorter) size chassis and they are usually listed as such. I made my own using 4mm thread rod and 4mm aluminium tube from B&Q with traxxas rod ends... cost me about
  5. Got the RC4WD light bar installed this afternoon... bit of a faff but all sorted and bolted down now. Images were taken with the flash firing on the camera... this takes a bit of the glare out of the pics from the lights obviously... Nicely made piece of kit, good and solid and should definitely hold up to abuse. Thanks, Nige
  6. I had a similar Cpt. America on my Slash... his body came away from his head in the end... he didnt like doing wheelies !...lol
  7. hahaha... something for a rainy Sunday tinkering i think...
  8. Oh dear... have we seen this before? Is there a trend forming !?...lol If your like me, you enjoy the tinkering and modifying side of the hobby as much as actually getting out there and using them... that's the only problem for me, none of the mates i see regularly have RCs so i tend to run on my own a lot of the time... there doesn't seem to be the volume of forums with groups trailing or crawling with RCs in the UK as there are in other countries.
  9. At the end of the day its always only going to be worth what someone is willing to pay... sometimes that less than you really wanted and sometimes its more... with a tail wind i've sold things on eBay that went for crazy money in my opinion (none RC) but the buyer was prepared to pay what they did and were happy with the purchase. Best thing is to to a bit of homework and see what others are selling for etc... set a minimum you would be happy to let it go at and list from there.
  10. Reckon you might be onto something there Gaz...
  11. Took the truck out with the family over the local nature reserve yesterday... Took some videos with the camera, i've stitched them together and uploaded them to youtube Had a blast, need to find some more challenging terrain, would be awesome if i could hook up with a few of you guys as well to run the trucks in more numbers. Cheers, Nige
  12. When i 1st read your post Gaz i was like "WTF !?"... then it clicked and i knew exactly what you were on about... I've got the RC4WD bar on the way but i might have a play about with the LEDs in the knackered bar on there now...
  13. Ordered a 4 inch bar from RC-Bitz on eBay As soon as the wife said the current one was a bit weak and I needed something a bit more solid I knew she was on board
  14. Comparing anything ive seen in decent condition on eBay,
  15. I took the Silverado out for a run around the nature reserve this morning... i'll upload the video footage later once i have edited to into one clip and sorted out the dodgey bits I'll add it to my build thread... Anyway, the truck took a tumble down a hill at one point and the fasttrax light bar has come off worse for wear... The roof rack / light bar is sold with the intention that if you dont want the lights, the welds can be broken by flexing the unit a bit... the barrel roll did just that ! So, my options are to try and repair this one or swap it out for something like the RC4WD and Vanquish LED bar... i'll need a 4 inch bar, any ideas wheres best to get one? I like the Vanquish bar but OMG its a lot of cash for what it is (granted, its an awesome looking piece of kit). Thanks, Nige
  16. My brothers got one, he bought it 2nd hand and after a bearing set and some new seals for the shafts it was as new. He's now running a brushless system on 4s and its got a mental amount of torque without being too crazy.
  17. Nice updates AJ this is becoming a very comprehensive build !
  18. Nice Wraith buddy, my girls lack throttle control too although the youngest is getting better
  19. Looks awesome... Dont know if you thought about it or if its just the pic but have you considered raising the bumper a little? RadShape do a kit for it and i think it would set the front end up perfectly.
  20. Very tidy install... looks perfect. Bit of a random question... any idea where i can get Axial decals from? buying my SCX10 2nd hand it doesnt have any Cheers, Nige
  21. That's some crazy flex AJ... love this Wraith
  22. Cheers Gaz, its pretty much turned out exactly how I wanted, ive really enjoyed the tinker time and getting to know the whole truck innthe process too.
