  1. Hello, I bought my first starter box and I am in the process of setting it up. I have a silly question but when should the rubber wheel start turning? I read some guides and everyone are saying that it should start just before both wheels touch. In my case, it seems that the rubber wheel is on full speed as soon as I start pressing and sill have about 5 mm gap between the wheels. I already have some burned marks on the rubber wheel, so don't want to brake it... Is this correct? If not, is there a way to adjust the box? The car is Ansmann 3 and starter box SMD Evolution 2.0. Thanks is advance!
  2. Hello, Please forgive me if it's a silly question but I am a newbie. I have a roto starter on my Hyper 7 and now would like to convert the Ansmann Virus 3.0 too, as the pull starter is driving me crazy. I read in few places that all I need is a back plate. Are they universal or do I have to buy specific one dedicated for Ansmann? Thanks in advance
  3. Hello, I managed to brake my plastic gears in the throttle servo on Ansmann 3.0 (1/8 off road buggy) . I looked around and there are millions of replacement available. Could you please recommend some? I know I should go for the metal geared one, don't want to spend more than about
  4. Baja 5b, can i just what do you mean by "lean"? I didn't play with with any of the setting yet. I assumed that RTR will actually have factory settings... I soon as it started doing that, i turned it off. It went through about half of the first tank...
  5. Thanks for the reply guys, i was getting worried that something is breaking... Why does it sound like there isn't enough fuel though? Also, isn't the idle speed a bit too high?
  6. Hello, I purchased an Ansmann 3.0 and started breaking the engine. During the first tank burn, it started to make the fallowing noise Is this normal or should I be worried? . It is my first engine breaking so I am sorry if I spam the forum. Thanks in advance.
  7. I took the engine apart and don't see anything obvious. There is no scratches, metal powder inside etc. I managed to take the side of the crankcase so that I can see the crankshaft with a piston rod attached, and a bearing... I can't in any way detach the rod from crankshaft. Is there a way to do it? Also, is it possible to pull out the bearing so I can have a proper look?
  8. Isn't this what you meant by:
  9. I did, but as the engine is few years old now, i don't want to spent
  10. Thanks for the answer guys! In this case it's a trip to buy something new. One more question, on my current Hyper 7 i have an electric starter. Will this work on any other car/engine? Also, which one do you recommend: Ansmann Racing Virus 3.0 or FTX Carnage NT ? I read quite a few reviews about the Ansmann, and i am wondering is it really bad car or is the opinion is based on one bad model? I am looking for something around
  11. Sorry I should've been clearer. As I mention I am a newbie so I will use this diagram, So when the piston is on the bottom of crankcase, you need much more energy to turn the crankshaft to start moving the piston up again. When the piston is in any other position, it goes smoothly again. I hope it is clearer now.
  12. Hello, I am a beginner so please excuse any silly questions. I got an old hyper 7 with a Macstar .28 engine as he was not playing with it anymore. I took it out yesterday, tried to start and it starts and dies. I set all the tuning back to the original settings, but it is the same situation. I took the engine apart, as when it was just about to stop, I heard some metallic sound coming from inside. There cylinder looks ok (at least to me), but is it normal that when it is down, it is harder to move it, then when it is in any other position? If it starts, does it mean that the engine is fine, and only requires tuning? If there was someone in North West part of London willing to have a look I'd appreciate. Thanks in advance,
  13. I am just quoting the details from here: http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-parts/HI-2025-5300/RC-PARTS-BRUSHLESS-MOTORS-HIMAX.html Which one should i go for then? Will the one i showed earlier do?
  14. Thanks for the website! Ok, so comparing parameters this one seems the most promising: http://www.giantshar...r-p-406088.html Parametrs of the old one are: Power: 175W KV: 5300 ESC Rating: 25A Weight: 66g Diameter: 20mm Length: 45mm Shaft Diameter: 2mm Prop Size: 3x2 - 4x3 Rm: .044 lo: 1.40 New: Shaft Size: Dia 2.0mm Motor Dimensions: 20mm?30mm ??? Weight: 46g Kv: 5200 My only concern is the fact the new one is smaller... will it still work? Thanks!
  15. Hydro, sorry mate, could you be more specific please. Is the 380-400 a size of the motor?
