Anyone care to comment on gearing? What would I be looking for?

Just been given a SkyRc for pennies. Its a 3930kv 10T motor with a 60a ESC. What sort of issues am I looking at as this will be my first proper brush with........uhh...........brushless. Firstly, anyone know what the limit is on this with regards to Lipos? 2s, 3s????? Secondly, what pinion should I be using? Been told it should be around the 19t mark? Thirdly, can I get a 2 speed pinion or will I need to get the single speed spur? Let me know guys and gals, any info is greatly appreciated.

GT3B and GT3C. Perfect for my needs as I only bash now and again. Anything more would be a waste.

Wasn't there a difference in the steering with the GT3B having springs and the GT3C having bearings? I know there was also issues with some of the GT3C's and the power switch. Ive owned both (Still use my GT3C) and to be honest, there's not much difference apart from the weight as stated above.

If your not that bothered on performance with regards to servos, pick up an MG996R off ebay for about 6-7 bucks. Had one of these in my MTA S28 now for the last two years. No issues whatsoever. Actually thinking of buying another and having the dual servo steering arrangement.

Are you running a hump pack of the bank of four AA's? My S28 used to do exactly the same until I changed over to a hump pack.

Is it inbuilt to the radio system or standalone? I only know how to set the Flysky failsafes.

I'm assuming the swift isn't too far from the BD8? I had it out the last weekend and have to say its not that bad at all. The Go.21 kept up with the other buggies (Hyper, EB4 and Trophy) and it handle the jumps well. Even had a few bad rolls without damage. Happy so far.

Nothing wrong with a decent bodge now and again.

If anyone is actually bothered, think I found some compatible cars. This car goes by several other names:- Hong Nor / Ofna Ultra LX2 NHW BD8 NRB-5 Looking at the Hong Nor / Ofna, arms are the same, shock towers are very similar (at least the rear one is), radio tray, braces etc etc. This is all according to google imiages though, so please correct me if I am wrong.

I would have no problem supporting my LHS as its always nice to have that face to face interaction when purchasing. But the problem lies around the fact that the LHS does not cater correctly for its customer base. As far as I am aware, the bashing community in this area has no interest in cheap helicopters and Ansmann spares. And before you slate this comment, something else to factor in is that the guys that run the shop bash with us on regular occasions. Surely this would give them an insight in to what spares they would need to stock. Let not turn this into a war of opinions, I'm just saying that my LHS could probably do a bit more to attract more custom as it would be a shame to lose them. This is not my opinion of all LHS.

Sounds very similar to our LHS. Loads of cheap helicopters and some left over Ansmann dead stock. Everything you want would have to be ordered in, and if that's the case, I may as well get online and do it myself to avoid the mark up. Think my LHS is only good for fuel and fluids.

Cheers for the input. Only thing is its not the raptor I have, its a 1/8 buggy called the BD8 I think. At least you support my first inpressions that they are not too shabby. Seems to be decently made. Guess a first bash will prove that though.

Yeah, was looking at the Team C Torch N kit, but like the Virus St.......can get one for love nor money. Would rather nitro to brushless tbh. Need to make use of this spare engine.
