I'm about to start giving my eldest boy pocket money he's nearly five, how much do people on here give there five year olds if any? The main reason we started is he's just started school and its a good reward scheme for his behaviour (not that he's naughty) and also rather than us buying him sweets or toys we said he can save his own money and use that so teaches him that if he wants something he needs to be good and save his own money. I said to start with a pound a week but the Mrs called me stingy so I don't know how much now, think I got 50p a week when I first got it and that was 30 odd years ago so sounds quite low but don't wanna go too mad or he will end up with more money than me!!

Only thing I can think of 1/10 in that price range is a ftx edge don't know much about them though, or if you could stretch slightly more an ftx vantage brushed model,or maybe you could get something 2 nd hand if you want something a bit better? Although your need batteries and a charger if you don't already have them?

I've got the original wiring on my esc for two batteries in series, I've got a single 4s pack id like to run as well sometimes is there a lead I can buy or is it a matter of making one? I don't mind soldering just thought if there's a ready made one would be quicker as I've got no connectors or wire at moment to make one with so would have to order that anyway. I'm using deans at the moment.

Yeah first time I tested my trophy at works yard mate said gis a go! Full whack into the fence then said how do you brake? Why not ask that before you go full throttle, luckily it only broke the steering arm and he did offer to pay, but lesson learnt!

Welcome aboard mate, need to narrow your search down a bit fella, nitro or electric what scale you want do you want to build it or you want RTR and the most important bit how much of your hard earned cash you willing to part with.

Little bump for the evening viewers was gonna order some bits tonight so wouldn't mind opinions on the servo or any others at modelsport got some vouchers from my birthday to use up, not sure what to look for when buying a servo, cheers guys

Yep your not the only one, first time I stripped my front diff down to replace the gears I put diff in backwards all back together went out over the park and all four wheels just spun on the gravel took me a while to realise what I'd done.

Be worth the wait mate, took mine for its first run today couldn't believe how quick it was I wasn't expecting it to be that fast!!

No as far as I know it's the one that came with it and it's a brushless rtr not a conversion, what's a decent servo to fit these that doesn't cost big bucks as wanna save some money for a few other bits as well.

Just to update guys just managed to give it a run this afternoon, performed fine packs were quite warm didn't have my gun so couldn't take exact temp but was only warm not hot. But they did look slightly more puffed but it was only slight,checked the cells and they seemed fine the one that was out the most was 3.70 and 3.78 I'm guessing that's ok? That was only with a little pocket cell tester though I'm at work so not got the charger with me to get a more exact reading,will give them a balance charge tomorrow and see how they go.

Hi just got two questions about my trophy, Is it normal for the wheels not to turn whilst the car is stationary when turning the steering? Steering works ok when driving just not when cars still on the ground, servo is stock model as well. Also when i switch of the tx the truggy shoots off backwards!? What's that all about?

Yeah he said that she emailed him saying a letter had turned up and she said it looked quite important think had the police force name on it so she opened it, then she scanned it and sent it to him, she said that she's not been another letter but she can't be sure so we are taking it that it's the first one. Bit annoying as I get the feeling she opened it to have a nose and find out some dirt rather than help him, as she could have forwarded it to him still sealed or as you say return as 'not known'. If it was me I think I probably would leave it and let them find my correct address as there all up to date, but hes not that sort which is why I think he wants to get it sorted so it's not hanging over him think he is going to phone his agency see if they can trace the other guys down and in meantime draft a letter to send back, thanks for all the suggestions guys appreciate the help so far.

Yeah just charged it at work cells seemed ok plugged in the truck worked ok but mate of mine drove it into a wall and snapped the Hub carrier so didn't get a full run but hopefully will get fixed this weekend and have another go.

Yeah the cells didn't seem to bad one battery was 3.9 and 3.8 the other one had a bit more charge in it was 4.1 and 4.2, whst worried me is he said he hadn't used it for months so it's been stored with over 8 volts in for almost a year!

What nitro car is it mate? Could maybe do a brushless conversion if there's a kit out there for it?

As above does anyone think this lipo looks a touch swollen? It's a hard case hpi 2s it came in a truggy I bought there was 3 of them but they wasn't secured so they have been rolling about inside the box. 2 of them are 5300 mah hardcase and have the squared off edges and look slightly swollen as in picture, the 3rd one is same make but 4000 mah and is the hardcase one with rounded edges and looks fine. I was wondering could it just be that it's ment to be like that? I would have a go at taking the case off but I've messaged the seller and not had a reply yet so didn't wanna mess about with them just yet. Just wondered if anyone else has same batteries or knows if they are usually like that?

Yeah his license was up to date, as said I find it strange that they have chased him at his old address as his license was correct when he hired the car and they had his new address at the hire company. So it's looking as though maybe he should write a letter explaining the situation stating he was the registered hirer of that car said date but doesn't think he was driving and mention that there was 4 other guys and that there details should be held with the hire company?

The only thing is for him to just pay it hes owning up to something he might not have done and ends up with a fine and points on an otherwise clean license. He's not trying to pass blame or worm out of it he's not the type to take a chance with things like this, he genuinely has no idea who was driving. I think it would be a bit unfair for him to have to take the blame just coz his company put his name down as hiring the car out. I think if there going to carry on chasing him he should maybe contact the hire company or the company he was working for see if they will forward all the drivers details as they all had permission to drive it. There still chasing him at his old address so maybe he should return letter with his new details explain the situation then ask for photo evidence and see if they can identify him?

Gonna see if he can scan and email me copy of the letter as I've not seen it yet
