  1. Hi did a 4 cell pack on simple charge ,set to .500mah,just in case!!,worked fine, full in about 55 mins,it tells you how much charge its put in,not the full amount thats in the pack,so yes that pic is bang on right, the c rate for nimh cells,is 1c/2c max,so 3.8 or 5.0 is also right, when you do a a discharge/charge cycle, you need to go to the user program, set 1.0 amp discharge rate, set low voltage, per cell, this can be .8 v to1v per cell,in my case did 1v,which means low volt setting of 4v,its a pack, yours would be 5v,then set max pack mah to 3800/5000 mine was2200,and they tell you in book how to set for timed charge, mine worked out at 92 mins,it goes in tens,so did ninty mis,you can also set a rest time inbtween the cycles to let the pack cool down,as above doing is better than book. 2. Hi ebay,or Halfords, try on web. Goldman
  3. Hi hes trying it on pile of b---sh--t,should have checked that settings were ok first Goldman
  4. Hi again been having a look at the book,i think the 1.0a is the rate at what it will discharge the pack at,it says you can cycle up to 5 times,charge/discharge,that was done with nicads to stop the memory probs they could get, dont know if theres the same probs with nimh type,am doing a 4 cell pack at the min, just to see how it works out,it also says you can charge up to 2c max,i dont know yet what the max is on this type of cell,a good place to find out is googgle, but the time limit is 2HRs on the charger, when its saying full i can only think it means a fully charged pack,i have had it when it says time, which means out of,whatever the charge of pack is,all a bit ify,i would find out what the max charge rate of your packs are first, may be less than 3.5/5.0. 5. Hi dan garf,a 4 channel is a good one to start with, most people use Mode 2 on TX,this means Throttle&Rudder is on the left stick&cyclic/forward/backward etc is on Right stick, the 3 channel i got had rudder on the right,so was not very good for me,was used to it being on left, size of Helli, like i say the bigger the better, but not if you have limited space of course, one thing to avoid at all costs,no second hand Hellis, unless you know who your buying it off&see it working, there are loads of bargins to be had,&a lot of them are not,if you just want the fun side of it,then a good 4channel coaxial is def the best one to go for, will tacke a bit of practice, but i got to throw it around well untill i stuck it into the ground, you can make trainning gear out of ping pong balls, and thin sticks/metal rods,or they cheap to buy, just for the very start, you wont need it long,or be brave&go without, get the feel of it very little jumps off the ground, not high to start with, then a bit more, when they close to ground, you get ground effect, from rotor blade wash, makes them a bit unstable, but they are fun,the 6 channel full colective is a diferent matter, this is why i am trying the cars for a while,or am just no good with the Helli,i have 5,two are four foot long, big, not as big as you can go,wanted to do turbine, but maybe not. Good luck with them Goldman
  6. Hi single blade 6 channel Hellis, are very demanding to learn to fly,the twin blade,or coaxial is so stable, but most of them cant cope with too much wind, even the really big ones,as far as i have heard cant,so full collective is the next step,& its a big jump, very nearly starting again, setup is very important,to begin with, training gear is really a must,u can tip one very easy, then loads of practice, again you dont want too small size one, bigger the better, more stable, but also more cost, there is no easy way to do it,but its brill when you get the first hovver of a good size one, then start to move about,i am trying on my own,but a good pilot to help&show you would help a hell of a lot, really depends how far you want to go with them. Goldman
  7. Hi i have one of thease chargers, but used mostly for lipos, but looking at that,it would seem to say that your batt is charged,i could be wrong, not really used them for those type before, did have a read about it all,and was left a bit unsure, but like i say its mainly lipos for the Hellis, try having a word where, you got it from,i know it can all get a bit of a pain, nine times out of ten its easy &the charger seems to be fairly good. Goldman
  8. Hi yes theres a lot to pick from,in the end i went for one that halfords had a lot of,its a liter,so will last a while, and also easy to get hold of when you want it,that was how i did it in the end,you can go on forever otherwise. Im useing Castrol Actevo 2T,was one of a few recomended on HPI Forum, and will stay with it,think it was about
  9. Hi i will have a look at the remote kill switchs see whats what,no not leaving choke on and had a look with filter off to see which way its on/off as book that came with it dont seem to say,lot of use that was,i did get it going again&took it on the field to give it a run round, runs well so cant figure it at min, maybe its just a awkward one,may get better ,will still have a word at shop, they may have an idea if owt needs setting or whatever.just one more thing is that white washer on petrol cap needed, its all twisted,i supose its some sort of seal, not much good, maybe i will replace with a cork one i can make. Cheers Goldman
  10. Hi back again, went down the road to some playing fields,it would not run,so i have taken note of them settings for the HSN/LSN,am not going to touch them yet, next will have a word at shop, see what they make of it,its a real pain to start, sounds fine if it runs, and seems to respond OK,so not sure the settins are off or not,but you shouldnt have all this just to start it,i think theres a problem with this one,my lad has just got his going without too much trouble,so we shall see, stebro no probs,in a lot of cases you would be right about user error,i have a hedgetrimmer,2 stroke, very sim to car, runs fine, you can turn the kill switch on/off on that ,would be easy miss that, not the case here cheers. Goldman
  11. Hi we have life in it ,did as cboy said, still nowt, checked for spark, was OK,even warmed plug with lighter another trick that can help, but nothing, then went and swore at the box it came in ,went back out,it tried, twice, nowt, took plug out pulled it over a few times ,plug back in& off it went, swearing at box may have done it!!!!!!,run it round the garden a bit better than just stood running,as to what or why,not sure, the kill switch you mention, how do you set it up with 2ch RC,think i read it needs 3 not sure, but yes can see the need for one,any way thanks for your help, would love to know why,not good if it was someone who didnt have any knowhow with them, may ring shop, just to see what they think about it. Cheers Goldman
  12. Hi Guys, took plug out and turned it over to clear any excess fual,as i say its new,so dont really want to mess with carb settings at this point,it has a kill switch fitted,am fairly sure its giving a spark, which i think if i am right the kill switch would stop,so can only think that is OK,am going to have another look tomorow with someone pulling the starter, was hard to tell for sure on my own,the kill switch is a push button,so only works when its pressed in by hand, cant really mess with any of this incase it goes back,i will try the starting method you have said cboy& see if it helps, but if not think will be paying the shop a visit,if it was second hand would be able to go over it more, but new, dont think so cheers &thanks. Goldman
  13. Hi maybe you can help me with this,i bought 2 new Ftx Punishers last Monday, today i took one out to start it up for the first time, just to see how it all was,i have made up 2 1/2 Liters of 25-1,the petrol was bought about 3/4weeks ago,so should be OK,to put it simply,it wont start, not a thing, years ago i had all sorts of M/cycles,ive done nitro engines&not so long ago did Vintage stationary enines, both restoring&exibiting at shows ,so i have a fair amount of dealings with engines, this one seems to be totaly dead,i think theres is more life in a graveyard, not even a spit, took plug out gap OK,there would seem to be fual getting through,am fairly sure thers a spark, will check again while someone pulls the starter, have not got a spare plug to try yet,my lad has the other one&he has had it started, but did say it was hard to get going,he set the throttle trim &then did the failsafe, and it was hard to get started, even though it was warm,as they are both new,i cant do a lot untill we find out if they have a problem or not, then it will be back to the shop maybe,so has anyone had a similar thing wit these& if so what was wrong&what would you advise to do,i know which way choke works, not tha the book helped, seems a bit arseabout face, but am at a loss so far, soory its long winded&thanks. Goldman
  14. Hi i have bought a Punisher Plus, not run it yet,but reading the book that came with it,it says to do two tanks of 25-1,then says use 40-1,what do you all think, from what i have seen on here,a lot think this is a bit low on the oil side, which for bashing or just off roading seems to be so Thanks Goldman
  15. I do like hellis have 5,Blade cx 2,Blade mcpx,Trex 500 ESP,Hirobo Schweizer 30 class nitro,Hirobo lama sa 315 30 class, converted to big electric, did have 2 Blade 400,both destroyed,a trex 450 clone& a copterx, the trex clone was really poor, blade 400 servos are well known as crapp, and even the others have bad parts/design probs,& a mate of mine did have a cheap 450,till it exploded the other day,so you got that bit wrong OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Goldman
  16. Hi Cheap hellis are crapp, dont wast your time or money, also they are dagerous too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goldman
  17. Hi if i am right the rudder control is on the right stick,if you get dx6i will more than likely be on the left, with throttle&collective, one to think about. Goldman
  18. Hi Guys,i have just joiend this site, now i have hellis, the mcpx can take bigger lipos, but as the capacity goes up,so does the size&weight, there are a few around, but there is a limit to how far you can go,i have a 4foot nitro scale, again run time is limited, you can refill, but rc batt only give you so long,i have a Trex 500,get around ten mins with 6 cell lipo, have 2 so about twenty mins,my other scale is a Lama SA315,this i converted to electric, useing two 11.1v 6500mAh lipos in series, may get around ten poss 15 Max mins. Ten or Twenty mins with a 3/4 foot helli is a fair time, you have to be totally 110% in controll, very demandig. Goldman
  19. Hi forbs, well i went on web, then gave wheelspin models a call to see what price for the 2 cars, then modelsport, and because im local to elite gave them a bell&got a deal for the 2 cars there,so i can go and collect when they come in,i have got a few bits from them before, but they dont do a lot of helli stuff, most of that i get from midland, revolution, and a few others, crossgates do hellis, but yuo get a lot of choice on web. Goldman
