  1. Every time I take them off and set them down!
  2. The ESC is still in stock position but I did use a piece of clear rubber/plastic stuff cut into a circle to seal the gaps between the spare wheel spokes to act as a shield from water splash and debris. Still undecided on the Apache SC but that's another thread.
  3. Personally I think Jang got it wrong and blew it out of proportion! but in saying that it does need a bit of finess on the throttle when the going gets tough and also when cornering. The only times I've had a problem is when I try to corner too fast and when that happens that's when it will start toppling over mid turn, wich is where the finess kicks in, and expect the suspension at the rear to need a bit of tweaking as it does have a habit of ass slapping. Other than that I like the Apache that much I'm looking at the SC version.
  4. Heres mine. the one and only one here(i think)
  5. Forgot to say! I'm based in west Belfast in between Finaghy and Dunmurry. Paul
  6. Cheers Shono. All sounds good Phil just hit me up when you get back and we'll sort something out. As for a blast on the apache I'm sure that shouldn't be a prob!
  7. N.I.Bs (northern Ireland bashers) I'm looking for some guys to meet up with.
  8. Try asking the guys over in the buggy/truggy section of the forum as there is a FTX Carnage/Vantage specific thread. If anyone can help it must be those guys
  9. I just thought you should know I now have 8 rough running wheel bearings on my apache, all courtesy my first 15 min bash on the beach(dry loose sand) I'm now looking at
  10. Stripped, cleaned then oiled the Apache after a bash at the beach then fitted some new shock guards and blue firmer springs on the rear, wich had come from Wheelspin & MS earlier in the week
  11. Is there a release date mentioned anywhere? Very interested in this as I'm looking for a SC
  12. @ chasman i was coming to the end of a 15min session before the missus started recording so i had quite a few mins getting warmed up lol. i had a few heart stopping moments at the start just trying to control the power in such a small area.
  13. and a baldy derriere!
  14. for anyone whose interested i got the missus to record a wee vid of me bashing the Apache. hope yous like any opinions are welcome.
  15. 35. going on 12 as the missus would say.
  16. @Chasman: thanks for the comment. regarding problems, the only ones i see is the lack of waterproofing on the ESC and its postion at the rear of the chassis, because of where the ESC is situated when all four wheels spin anything under the tyres gets thrown to the rear, and with the rear being so open bits n pieces start to gather in the tray with the ESC ie mud, water and stones as i seen when i looked at mine apart from that, everything else im happy with but its also early days and i have not been out since i was at the track due to the weather. pics of the Apache's guts
  17. a few pics of my Apache c1 after the first run! sorry no vids as of yet!
  18. I had the 3.3 version of the jato and it was a monster, never had any problems with it and it went down the road like a scalded cat. Had it for about 8 months then sold it on as off-road is my thing and the 3.3 had too much power going through 2 wheels, its quite a technique to grasp and involves alot of throttle feathering. So if the 2.5 is anything like the 3.3 i would say you have yourself a decent truck that should hold up to quite a bashing, then if anything breaks or falls off just replace with RPM bits and your good to go again. 19. Ok then, i managed to get the Apache C1 over to the BMX track yesterday, and i must say i am very pleased with the handleing of this truck. The surface of the track was loose gravel consisting of numerous bumps and yumps(puddle holes) throughout, also some table tops, banked turns and whoops. So first off i started with a some low speed runs down the straights and into the turns to see what kind of grip/handleing i was getting increasing speed a little with every run, it handled well, pulled strong through the power band and just loved the side-ways action on the turns. Then as the Gonads grew it was on to the whoops. At the the start i instantly seen first hand what everyones complaint was........ as soon as the truck got any sort of air under it, the nose just seemed to want to stay on the ground. so start the cartwheels, flips, nose dives etc. So after a bit of a bashing i finally got past the heavy nose and all it took was to keep your take-off speed held on the transmitter whilst in the air, and after that i started landing some sweet jumps with just the odd cartwheel/flip. 30 mins later im feeling confident, so its off to the table tops. First run was about 1/4-1/5 throttle(bricking it incase of implosion on landing) comes up the table top, front wheels lift then down again, and down the other side. So i continue making runs gradually increasing speed, the next few runs went the same as the first, front wheels airbourne then down again, so on the 6th or 7th run over the table top i decided the time had come for it to get some air regardless of what happens, so here it goes just over half throttle, hit the table top and we got lift off which resembled something like a brick through the air with as much control, and of course a very harsh landing. After a bit of head scratching i decided it was me who was at fault by not holding the throttle on in the air, ok then time for another go. here we go again.I gun it, it speeds down track hits the table top and takes off like a rocket, i remember to hold the throttle over the course of the of jump and it landed like it had just come into belfast international airport, being well excited at this a few more runs followed with the same result and continued that way until i got rained off. So to anyone who is thinking of investing in an Apache C1/SC i say go get it! yes it will be a challenge but the thing is built like a tank and will handle the punishment then drive off, it goes like stink and the handleing characteristics make it its own. also controlling something others feel the need to complain about will give that extra bit of satisfaction. Hope this helps anyone who may be looking at it. regards Bicko
  20. i cant say ive had it airborne as of yet, ive really just been trying to find my feet with it at the moment sorting out the EPA's and footering with different shock positions. As for the weight issues regarding the front end and the buggy as a whole i can truely say its a beast and quite heavy/solid(whatever way you want to look at it) especially with 2 lipos on-board. But what i can say is, the buggy goes like a scalded cat with wheelspin on high traction surfaces. Cornering goes as a buggy should with a high CG control is key, but with practise i see the apache behaving just like any other rc at the start spills and thrills then fun fun fun, but only time will tell. in the mean time im very pleased with my purchase, total out lay has been
  21. Evening people, after watching vids and reading posts on various forums dissing the Apache C1 i still went ahead and took the plunge and bought one of these fine looking machines. So my question is....... has anyone else got one and if so what set-up are you running with? and have you made any set-up changes? im currently running stock gearing 15/48, 2x2s 5300mah plazma lipos. the only changes ive made is wind down the pre-load adjusters on the rear shocks to the end of the threads and re-located them to the inner most holes to try and combat the ass slap this machine produces. looking forward to reading your questions and replys. regards bicko
