  1. decided to go 4s, due to the fact that 4s is already strong for a buggy, 5s will just weight it down more, possible off set the balance too because i thex1cr was desinged way before the brushless buggys. not mention the battery pack sticking up forcing this shell up which could dmg the battry if it lands hard.
  2. yeah scudding, just a few us sometimes like to play racing around an imaginary track, you could call it "Kiss chasing" lol i donmt want to break the buggy by over killing it with 6s power lol, 5s looks already a bit extreme.
  3. or theres look good. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/catalog/product/view/id/62285/s/turnigy-graphine-5000mah-5s1p-45c
  4. well its either 4s and change the gearing to something like 18 44 or what ever, or go 5s.
  5. ok well, theres are the best i could find, i had 2 2c sitting side by side in the buggy before with a battery hight of 50mm, which did pop the shell up a bit because of the wires, i can lay this on its side and it will still fit in, and give me 10mm lower so the shell shouldnt be poking up. the batery holder is 147mm x50mm https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-5000mah-5s-30c-lipo-pack.html
  6. what do you mean "a little short" ?
  7. i already bought it, so, i can just put it in the truggy and go 5s in that as i have old mbx6t as well..boy I like my old comp kits lol, although the battery holder for the truggy isnt very big when looking at the size of some of theres batterys. already have a 2200kv set up so i guess that will be for the buggy then
  8. yeah the spur is 48t. but i can always drop that down and upper the pinion. i was looking at 4500mha 5s pack, and the motor esc combo is this. also i did read up somehwere that the higher the cell the lower the c rating, is 20c too low or shall i go 25c? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-4000mah-5s-30c-lipo-pack.html https://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbywing-xerun-xr8-plus-brushless-esc-g2-motor-combo-1900kv-hwa38020405/p520596
  9. hey guys, so this is mainly for bashing and or scudding, what are the best gearing ratios for a 1/8 buggy using a 1900kv set up, cells also come into play, wiling to go 5s max the buggy is an old skool hong nor x1cr pro.
  10. yeah, i was looking at some 1700/1900kv on 5s. I think it would be pretty nippy. was looking at something like this, or may be the 1900kv version. http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/203745/
  11. Hey guys. my truggy roller has been sitting in its box all winter after i killed the nitro engine in it and decided to go back to brushless. money wise inst really an issue for me atm, the truggy is a mugan mbx6t with the standard eco conversion kit. gearing atm from my old motor/esc combo was 16t pinion and 46t spur but i can change the gearing too. This will be for bashing, so what do you guys recommend for a good motor/esc combo. i currently have a 2200kv mamba monster in my buggy powered by a hobbywing xrun 150amp (blue) running 4s which is a very nice set up, but i wanted something different for the truggy, also i am not sure if i want to go for a low kv motor and wack that up to 5s - WIll i have longer run times going that way with the new set up?
  12. thats what i mean. i have a MM 2200kv and even at 10% punch it is insane, even with 4s !.
  13. so, i see a lot of people running low rpm and high torque motors over high rpm motors. can any 1 explain why as the average motor alone destroys a nitro in regards to power to weight ratio and only high end race engines are close to rivalling most motor's so I don't see that it is the power side of the motor that makes everyone go low rpm (1800kv) why not a 2650kv? i am sure i will get a logical explanaion and i think i already know but i would just like some 2nd opinions sorry i mean to add that this is aimed at 1/8 buggy and truggy
  14. a friend of mine has killed his con rod on a z32 spec 2. apparently there is a compatible con rod that dose not cost as much, is this true? and any information about this con rod would be great. thanks guys
  15. a jet turbine is a completely different engine all together, electric has no boundary's because it is instent power. i agree. high end torque will win for bashing
  16. ok, so lets imagine an experiment. two cars, same model spec apart from the motor and gearing. both have pretty much the same top end speed, but what are your view's, a very high rpm motor or a very torquy moter?
  17. agree'd i have tryed everything, so i will be selling it now. thanks anyway guys
  18. mo joy. spent an hour with the trims and points. and stil fail's :/
  19. I tryed 120% end point's but that diddnt work, will try 110%. Was also thinking of using the stearing channal (asuming that has the same travel) to calabrate it. Will do both when I get home. Also I tryed 3 different rx unit, all 3 failed on the tracstr but all 3 worked on the mm
  20. That is a huge difference, the right plug seems longer then this random plug I found, and that is longer then the os.8
  21. As the title says, the esc will not lern revers on this radio syatem how ever it dose lern reverse on a different radio syatem- and also my MM calibrates fine on same.syatem that the tracstar dosnt. Any ideeas chaps, I cant just get rid of it
  22. I think my lms sell fast trax plugs, I can not buy a plug untill payday anyway Thanks alot btw, never knew there was a 1mm difference
  23. Ok nice 1. Just to clear this up though. Os are the only brand to use 4.5mm?
