l/n out just over 1 full turn h/n out about 1 3/4 turns have tried less and more on the l/n and how it is now seams the best lol

right, mixed fresh fuel and a little less oil than normal, not as smokey now but still not running for long. idle screw is in as far as will go and still doesn't seam to idle right

im car-less im afraid mate so am limited to the BMX track or the field out the back here in orton Peterborough gotta get a car sorted out so can meet further afield

the mrs got it for me as an anniversary present at begining of the month but was about a month old when she got it and chap said was running fine before just didnt have time for the hobby. will try new fuel and oil mix and go from there

well iv gotta nip over tesco's in a bit so may get some fresh and mix some more up and see if it makes a difference, could a bad mix have this effect on running though?

when does everyone wanna meet up again? not having much luck getting the new baja running but my other savage is ready for a bash lol

got a mixing bottle that you put the fuel in one side and the oil to the right % on the other and then turn it upside down to mix. use the same fuel/oil mix on my other car and thats got no probs at all

has probs had about 2 tanks through it, and yes the clutch was checked last night and all is well there

the outer of the plug is a little damp but the inner is dry and a dark brown colour if that makes sense? compression feels ok about the same as on my other and they are both the same size engines

its not far off that now mate and its idling ok but after a short time just dies off and seams to struggle to keep going and just dies

have no idea what it was from originally as was in a job lot of parts i got for my other car but its brand new and same make

re-set to base settings and it started straight away but still dies a short time after starting, the revs just seam to drop off and it dies

yeah done that, and spark is good and strong all the time, its as though no fuel is getting through! but fuel line is full with no air bubbles in

just checked and is clean and free from crap if i cant get anyone that knows a bit more about 2 stroke tuning to pop round tomorrow and have a tinker then as a last resort to getting this one up and running il be swapping the engines over as i know my other runs and works fine no probs but ideally i want to keep both up and running.

right coil gap set as advised by carsonkev above, idling steadier now but revs still drop off and engine dies on tick over clutch has been checked and all is fine and good there, anymore ideas and help before i swap over the engines lol (don't really want to as want both cars up and running lol)

So if the gap is too tight to get a business card in, would that cause any running problems? As i cant get a card in the gap at the mo

ok just to rule one more thing out before i end up swapping over the engines, what is the ideal gap for the coil pack? as when its idling its a bit erratic and not steddy so thinking it might be a timing issue thing is though Tom, all i wanna do is get out and get it dirty! lol

Cheers Kev, i know where the leak is coming from, its the bottom of the carb body, there is a plate screwed on and the screw is loose but if still runs no better after sorting the carb will defs be taking a look at the clutch.

Right, think we are finally getting somewhere lol, swapped carbs over and started up straight away reved up fine and didn't die afterwards and then died! And wouldn't start or even attempt to fire up! Changed plugs thinking id killed the plug, and still nothing checked everything over and then noticed the fuel feed line had come off! that problem addressed started her up again and this time noticed iv now got a leak on the bottom of the carb lol so back off again so can get that sorted out so hopefully later she will be up and running and Il have a smile on my face again

All fuel feed and return lines are free and un-kinked, will try the carb off my other engine 1st and if still no luck just swap the whole engine over.

I do have a spare carb but have no idea how good it is as got it in a job lot of spares, will tackle it tomorrow now as got day off so will have all day to mess around with it lol just wanna get out and get it dirty lol

my other car is a MCD evo2 (well it is almost now lol)

failing that might just stick the engine from my other car in this one and cut out all the bother lol as this one is a better car lol my other engine should just drop straight in?

will have to give that ago later when am back home, will use my other engine as a donor as i know that one runs fine and see how we go tomorrow when i try and get it going again
