  1. That's seriously cheap! Thanks for sharing this :-)
  2. Hi Guys, So my poor Savage, after months of being neglected a decided it was time to work out why it ran like a bag of nails once warmed up! I had checked everything, hoses, air leaks in all the normal places, I was just stomped... That was until I blew really hard into the engine whilst checking for air leaks (again) that I noticed bubbles appearing from tiny crack in the crankcase :-( My engine has fairly new internals so don't really want to buy a replacement, so if anyone has a spare solid HPI F4.6 crankcase knocking about please let me know!! Thanks Lance
  3. I can't find a wanted section, just for sale?! Any idea where I may find it please?

  5. Hi, I have been looking for the Sussex Bashers Facebook group page but had no luck, is it still there? I have a Savage and would love to find somewhere local to bash, ideally a BMX dirt track! I'm located in Hailsham and normally pop into Abbotts wood or Princess Park in Eastbourne but looking for new places. I've heard there is a BMX dirt track in Polegate just off the Coo coo trail, do you know of it and is it any good? Sorry for the off topic post! Thanks
  6. Fingers crossed that's the case! Tested the car as far as seeing if it idles ok now and it does! I had to lean out a little the LSN by a quarter or a turn as it bogged out as soon as the throttle was pressed, so fingers crossed tomorrow I can tune it up and have some fun! Thanks!
  7. Well I took it out today, i did another 2 break in tanks of less than half throttle (6 in total now) and 1 with a bit more but and had a couple of issues: 1) Even though I had the settings stock, the car would rev a bit when releasing the throttle. I think this may have been due to either rich settings or high idle which follows onto issue 2. 2) I had an idle issue, it would only idle at fairly high revs and with the wheels off the ground, as soon as I put it down the engine would cut out. After some research and taking my engine out it turned out to be 2 broken clutch springs which meant the clutch was always engaged. This has been fixed now. Whilst I had the engine out I checked for air leaks and there wernt any. Next run will be Tuesday so fingers crossed its a better session! Thanks and Happy new year :-)
  8. It was bogging down and the exhaust note changed when it was happening, I put it down to overheating but perhaps I was wrong. I have let the air filter dry over night, I will re-oil and hopefully try again today. Thanks
  9. Hi guys! I put a new piston liner, piston and Conrod into my hpi 4.6 engine today, I did 2 tanks at idle, and 2 tanks less than half throttle driving in circles, all was running great during the break in period, but during the last run it started to rain, the engine seemed to lose power at times and when the tank ran out the glow plug blew and the engine was rather hot. The air filter was wet, I'm a right in thinking that this could have been the cause of the power loss during the 4th tank, perhaps restricting airflow and overheating the engine causing loss of power? Thanks
  10. Hey guys, I got the engine, upgraded diffs, hardened spur gear and clutch bell and all is running sweet so thanks for all your advice. I do however have another question! The spur gear is over hanging the inner edge of the clutch bell so doesn't have full contact. Does anyone have any ideas how I can either move the clutch bell or the spur gear back? Thanks again. Lance
  11. I checked the engine for air leaks but none found, I took it apart anyway, checked piston etc and all is fine, used sealant anyway on head, carb and few other places to be sure. Started it up and the same issue!! Anyway I started playing with the needles and after about 10mins got it running, the LSN was set wrong and its now running, I'm very chuffed :-) Still needs some setting up as my savage was running the .25 before so need to re do the gears. Off out in a bit for a bit of bashing. :-)
  12. Haha I will get it working!! Hope it isn't anything bad, fingers crossed an air leak or just needs running in.
