Thread revival! Along with revival of my recon.....i think i haven't touched it in 12 months lol Getting clicking from the front diff....probably need the metal pinion upgrade....will look later

Okay iv just busted my litte plastic pinion gear in the rear diff! Took some teeth off and split it to, are there any upgrades that are a straight swap? You can get steel rc18t gears but i think you have to get the main prop shaft too.

Well the can dosnt come off so just got in-touch with Hpi.

I have the 4 piece set to that and for the price they are very good, cant say iv any issues with them......i just get fed up swapping bits all the time.

If your plugging in the bind lead first into iirc slot 3 and then powering on the Rx and its not flashing then i guess its knakered. Contact the seller for replacement.

Im using the hpi pro tool drivers.......no complaints yet!

Well went and watched some vids on youtube ref the lipo conversion! A guy recommend using 15c rating then you wont strain the transmitter.

I have the flysky too....cant say iv noticed excessive battery usage from it yet, but if the time comes! Can someone post a howto on converting it to lipo.

Wow thats pretty poor considering its only had 4 battery packs through it. Will get onto hpi for a new motor!

Have nothing else its my first leccy.... When its making the loud cracking noises its arcing inside at the same time.

So is it bad when a brushed motor starts making loud cracking noises when hard on the power? I thought it was my diffs giving up the ghost but tracked it down to the stock motor in my mini recon.

Quick update What a difference its made tightening it up....even wheelies now lol

Yeah i did notice them earlier when i had it in bits....lol i assumed there were cogs in the diff, may just strip them as iv never seen ball diffs before.

Id have to agree with that after getting mine lol....so i run it in the garden to with short grass but the tyres let it down.

Is there away to get more drive to the rear wheels? Seems to me when i gun it the front wheels spin and the rears dont do alot, so i stripped it down as i thought there maybe a slipper of some sort to adjust but there wasnt. Nothing is broken chewed up or worn and the spur gear is fixed to the shaft with a cross pin, so in therory what ever the front wheels are doing the rear should be doing to....if that makes sense.

So looking around on youtube i see your meant to break in leccy motors to! Worth breaking in the motor for the mini recon?

Yeah your correct....funny there is no mention of it in the manual that comes with the car.

Hi all Just got the above for my bday, wanted something small for messing around inside and i have a question. On the esc there looks like a tiny switch which says s neutral and r! Whats that do? Neil
