Perfect. I was worried about the thin wires on the leds melting with the lipo.

Bought a set ages ago from you and now going to use them. Can they be run on a 2s lipo?

My scx10 D90 is getting close now.

Ordered a few more bits which include a sticker set and some scale accesories.

Next job to do was the electrics box location. I tried having a small box but couldn't fit all the electrics into it so i decided to go for the bigger box and fit the electrics with ease. This however cause me a small problem. The rear seats wouldn't fit but i wasn't to bothered as i didn't like them anyway. I will be making a new rear section out of plastercard. I also noticed that crawler sam's head was nearlly touching the roof so i decided to take the dremel to the seat and find him a better seating position. I will refit the seat when the plastercard arrives.

Bump

The arches are like marmite really. Some love and some hate. I wanted to keep the 1.9s and tried it with standard arches but it didnt look right imo. It is going to be top heavy but I decided right at the start I was building a trail scaler and wouldnt be crawling mountains. It will be towing one of my next projects which will be a moa crawler. ;-) It will be fully loaded with scale accessories and be a real pain to drive but that is the challenge I wanted. Even the simplist of objects will have to be tackled with care. I cant wait for the challenge. :-)

Bit of an update. I have chosen to go with a simple clean look colour of white and black. (should notice the mud more) Painted with base coat clear and have started the final build up. Have just recieved my light kit which included all the lights and indicators so that will be one of the next things to do along with the whole running electrics.

Now comes the Front bumper. Made with A piece of box section and 4mm solid steel rod. Also added a couple of tabs to hold a pair of spot lights above the winch. And this is where im up to on this DIY build so far. Still plenty of mocking up to do before i paint the body. Note i have already removed the arches to fit larger ones to fit the 1.9s better. More to add later....................

Next up is the rear bumper. This was quite simple to make using B and Q steel plate. Also added a tow bar.

Now the Roof Rack. This part too a fair bit of planning and deciding on what i wanted. All made out of 4mm solid rod again from B and Q. The mesh also came from there too so nice and easy to get the materials. I think the full roof rack cost me about

Next part to do is the Rock sliders. Made these out of solid steel. B and q sell this and it pretty cheap too. A bit fiddly to get the body to mount to it square but came out all right.

Always fancied a D90 build but the costs put me off so i decided to take the plunge and do a DIY build. Instead of buying bumpers, chassis parts, roof racks etc i decided to try building most of them. Already had a scx10 chassis and set out changing the wheelbase to suit the d90 body. Made a couple of 4 link servo mounting plates and set out making the links.

If i get time today i will do it. :-)

Still looking for these wheels

yup another d90. Hand built the bumpers, tow bar, rock sliders, full roof rack including ladders. Bull bar. Etc the list goes on.....
